Clubs in Korea. Korean nightclub: my impressions. Nightclubs in Seoul

Then you will definitely want to know where in this country you can have fun and dance at dusk.

Features of nightlife in South Korea

It makes sense for active night owls to take a closer look at the South Korean capital. In the Hongdae area, they offer nightclubs that sound electro (clubs M2, Joker Red, Blue Spirit), R'n'B, hip hop (clubs Velvet Banana, Hole, Catch), heavy metal. It is worth noting that visiting hip-hop clubs ($10-15) is cheaper for young people than clubs with electronic music ($17-25). In addition, the Hongdae area often hosts musical performances, in particular by jazz bands, in open areas or in life cafes.

In the Itaewon area, you can dance at places such as B1, Volume (famous DJs work here on weekends; despite the fact that entry to many bar-clubs in Itaewon is free, a visit to Volume will cost visitors $ 25), Helios.

The Gangnam area indulges young people with sulchibs, bars and drinking establishments. Here you should pay attention to the electronic club Mass and hip-hop clubs Harlem and NB.

Those who are going to relax in the Apgujeong area should take into account that the prices here are higher, for everyone in everything, but there are also many entertainment establishments (many of them have face-control), especially specializing in electronic music parties (Answer, Circle and others).

Casino Seoul

Seven Luck Casino: The casino pleases visitors with about 120 slot machines and more than 70 gaming tables. Here you can “indulge” in Caribbean poker, baccarat, roulette, tai-sai…

Paradise Casino Walkerhill: Housed in the Hilton Hotel and open 24 hours a day, you can play tai sai, baccarat, blackjack, roulette… And there's also a slot machine. This is a casino like the others in South Korea, is aimed exclusively at foreigners, so you must have a passport with you.

Club Grid, Busan

Delights visitors with a Night Party throughout the night, as well as Red Bull Three3Style (competition of DJs in technical skills and the ability to "rock" the audience) and SuperMartxe parties.

Nightclubs in Seoul

At the entrance to the Octagon (the club operates from Thursday to Saturday from 10 pm to 7 am), the guards conduct face-control and check the passports of visitors (do not forget to take this document with you). Spread over 2 floors (with a glass elevator moving guests from one floor to another), the establishment has the best sound system in Seoul, a huge dance floor, 3 bars, an open kitchen, a swimming pool and a VIP area with white leather sofas.

Ellui (Friday-Saturday 10 pm to 7 am) is famous for its parties, which are attended by the best Korean DJs and international music groups. And the territory of Ellui is “covered” by free Wi-Fi. On the 2nd floor of the club there are VIP zones, and on the 1st floor there is a dance floor (mostly they have fun with dance electronic music), to the right and left of which round counters / tables are installed. Under the stairs you can find a bar and a small area where there are tables and chairs. In addition, the club pampers visitors with a separate hip-hop lounge with its own bar.

You can visit the Answer club from Wednesday to Saturday from 9 pm to 5 am (Friday-Saturday - until 6 am). After 23:00, visitors are charged around $30 for admission (this price includes 1 free drink). The dance floor of the Answer club is equipped with a luminous square podium, which rises up several times a night. The VIP zone provides visitors with tables and sofas. And if you wish, you can go up to the roof of the establishment and relax in the individual cabins located there (their rent is far from cheap).

1. Ellui Club, also known as Asia Multiplex Club, is one of the most big clubs Asia, and currently the coolest in Seoul. Parties are often held there, where special guests are international bands and the best DJs in Korea.
In the midst of the party, the staff (and these are handsome, muscular guys, like models) jump on the bar, start dancing and pour cocktails into everyone's mouths.
Admission fee: 15,000 won on weekdays and 30,000 on weekends.

2. Club Mansion. Its only drawback is that it is not a very large room. It is located in the Hongdae area. On weekdays, this is an ordinary place to relax, no trash, but on weekends it opens its doors as a club.
Unlike other clubs in Seoul, in Mansion the lighting gives everything a "cold" tone, which is very relaxing.
A huge plus of this club is that it is not as crowded as in other places. It is very rare to stand in line for more than 30 minutes.
Entrance: 20,000 won

3. Another popular club is Answer, where Justice, Deadmau5, Benny Benassi have been.
The club occupies 3 floors, the stage is located on the 1st floor, VIP tables are located on the 2nd floor, and the rooms are on the 3rd floor.
Very strict dress code, there are frequent cases when they were not allowed in just because of the clothes. This is the place to really visit in Seoul if you want to have fun.
Just don't wear shorts or flip-flops.
Admission is 15,000 won on weekdays and 30,000 won on weekends.

4. Another great Rococo club, which is located in a small but ultra-modern Imperial Palace Boutique hotel. It is located in the heart of Itaewon.
The Rococo club opened quite recently, but GD and TOP High High's video was filmed there.
A lot of foreigners go there.
The club is located on the main road of Itaewon, so traffic jams are common there, especially on weekends. It is almost impossible to park there, so we advise you to take a taxi or metro.
Admission 30,000 won

5. Club Eden is considered to be one of the most luxurious clubs in Seoul.
Detailed unique design, neon lights, dance floor that resembles an 18th century ballroom (music is the difference).
Known for its complex sound system. Eden is far from the cheapest club, if you want to drink, you will have to fork out for drinks.
There is a 2nd floor where there are VIP tables.
Admission 30,000 won

Even before coming to Korea, Korean women acquaintances warned: "Never go to clubs." And forewarned is forearmed. For three months I held on, but curiosity took its toll. I won’t say anything about “walk-don’t-walk”, I’ll just tell you about tonight.

Korean clubs work every day at any time of the year. They are different. Gangnam clubs are electro music and Hongdae clubs are hip hop. "Well, we must dance well," - it was with these thoughts that we went to Hongdae. Who are we? This is important information, and why you will understand later. We are me (European appearance) and two of my girlfriends (one is very similar to a Korean, and the second is just with an Asian appearance).

Entrance to the club - from 10 thousand won (about $ 10), but, again, it all depends on the club: there are places where admission is free or very cheap, but ... It's better to pay. Before entering, you need to show a document certifying that you are no longer a teenager, but an adult (either ID, or passport, or temporary registration, or rights). And then the first pleasant thing is a ticket for a free drink, which is given at the entrance. You can choose anything. You have to speak Korean. Loud. Because it seems that the bartenders either actively use the contents of the bar, or simply don’t think well in this chaos, which is not surprising.

Before opening the doors to this realm of confusion, music evoked thoughts of dancing. But... At first glance, it became clear that if you can just stand here (in the sense of the club), then it's already great. There are not just a lot of people, there are a lot of them. And any dance will be called "herring in a barrel." I honestly wanted to make a video or at least take a photo, but the night passed in the position of a tin soldier, periodically moved by the crowd to a new place.

It's very easy to lose each other in a Korean club. But if you are a girl who is not looking for adventures in "one place", keeping your company is vital. Koreans do not move around the club alone, but make this crowd. Wavy. When one wave passes by you, the result may be different, most likely, you will simply be carried away by the crowd somewhere away from the previous place. How to be? We, to be honest, have lost one of our girlfriends, who looks like a Korean. It is uncomfortable to sit on the phone, the sounds are not audible, and the vibration will not help in any way there. After that, our dances turned into soldiers who also hold hands. Don't let go of the hand you came with! Even if guys show up later, it won't hurt them. Do not worry.

Now the people are in the club. There are a lot more guys than girls. Guys are very competitive. You can choose anyone you like more. And about the situation of foreigners. Asian appearance makes a person a priori knowing the Korean language and, therefore, safe. It was hard for me at first. First, everyone is watching. It's only fun for the first couple of minutes, then it gets kind of weird. Secondly, Koreans! I don't want to complain (although I already started), but these girls are very aggressive towards foreign women, especially when a foreign girl does not have a boyfriend on the horizon. If then someone is standing next to them, then they no longer hit the top of their head with their elbows, they don’t shove as if 100 kilograms of weight into them, in general, if they understand that you don’t pretend to be their possible candidates, then they turn back into adequate Korean women . Needless to say, that Asian appearance insures against the attacks of Korean women? My friends didn't have any problems. And the guys (Koreans and Chinese) approached them much faster than me. But the guys are foreigners worth their weight in gold. They just need to stand, and the Koreans will do everything themselves.

The club would not be a club if no one met there. In our clubs, a guy comes up and starts talking, and a Korean comes up either from behind or from the side and starts dancing together. Then you can look at it and say yes or no. By the way, "no" is perceived as normal, he will simply join the crowd and move away. For “yes”, it’s better to choose a guy who is stronger and taller so that he takes the blow of a moving crowd. J

In general, initially, we wanted to tell you about TheA club, but unexpectedly found out that it was completely closed…. Therefore, we have no choice but to tell you about the very legendary club Korea. Included in the TOP 100 best clubs in the world. And not somewhere, at the end of the ninth decade. And on a proud 5 PLACE! In general, this is not just a club, it is a real cherry on the very top of the cake, called the club culture of Korea. And his name is OCTAGON.

At the time of the opening, and it was already back in 2011, there were a lot of rumors around him. Long time it was even said that its owner is none other than G-Dragon. We don't know if it's true or not. They didn't specify. But perhaps it was this rumor that allowed the club to take off and, literally from the moment of its opening, be on everyone's lips. With its scope, it overtook the famous at that time Ellui. And precisely, perhaps because of Octagon, Ellui has faded into the background. But for 5 years now, OCTAGON has been consistently leading the ranking of the best clubs in Seoul. Agree, it sounds impressive and very tempting. We, too, could not pass by and not check all the rumors and conjectures that fly around this club on ourselves.

So, Octagon is located on Gangnam, in the basement of the New Hilltop Hotel. If you are taking a taxi, it is better to tell the taxi driver the name of the hotel. And just in case, have a different address, as the hotel is not deluxe, they may not know.

The entrance made of black stone is not immediately evident, if the inscription with the name of the club did not burn above it, one could easily pass by. At the entrance, as elsewhere, there is a guard in black who conducts face control and checks passports. So be sure to take them with you. By the way, in Korea it is enough to have a passport photo with you, for example, on your phone. By the way, recently the club has tightened face control for foreigners. So be fashionable.

And then black doors with a corporate emblem and a staircase down. Across the span is the front desk and cash desk, two in one. Admission is 30,000 won (approximately $30), as elsewhere, a free drink is included. It seems that earlier until 11 pm the entrance cost 10,000 won. But, we are not sure that this is relevant at the moment. We always arrive after 11. Luggage storage is bags, the cost of a bag is 5,000 won. In exchange for money, you are given a branded rubber bracelet with the number of your bag.

So, if you continue down to the right, there will be a small lounge bar with its own music (different from the one played by the DJ downstairs), usually hip-hop plays here. Well, at the very bottom, the club itself is waiting for you. Its scope is impressive! 2 floors and a huge dance floor. If you go straight from the stairs, there will be a lavatory. By the way, it is also huge and very stylish. In one part there are huge mirrors with tables where you can put your makeup in order and black leather ottomans where you can sit and chat. Well, then there are the cabins and sinks themselves, as if in a separate nook. Everything is very stylish.

If you turn left from the stairs. Then with right side there will be a huge bar. And on the left side of the VIP tables. Then there is a glass elevator leading to the 2nd floor to the VIP zone and the VIP room. And behind it is a huge dance floor. At the head of which is a DJ console and a huge on-screen panel, probably the largest in Korea. The interior design is quite simple, here you will not find a crystal chandelier or a marble floor, but everything is concise and stylish.
Music - electronic - dance. Invited DJs from all over the world constantly perform in this club. On a permanent basis, there are also their own, Korean DJs - residents.

The age contingent is average, there are young guys, and there are status people. But most of them are 25 and older. Here you will not meet ajussi from a corporate party, as in Ellui. Usually all guests come purposefully to the club. By the way, among the guests of the club you can constantly meet celebrities, not only Korean idols, but also American actors and singers. For example, Jessica Alba, Eric Bennet and Jamie Foxx were caught in the club, not to mention all sorts of Jay Packs, and YG singers in full force. Just for such celebrities, the club has a couple of closed VIP rooms that you just can’t get into.

On the second floor there is a VIP area with white, leather sofas and tables that must be booked in advance. From the second floor there is a staircase that descends to a small balcony - a podium directly to the side of the DJ console.

What to wear? As in all clubs in Korea, there is face control here. As we already wrote, recently, they have tightened for foreigners. Therefore, definitely no sneakers and sportswear. Beautiful club mini dress or mini skirt and top and heels. It is necessary to gain in style, but not flashy and vulgar;) Well, for guys, definitely jeans or trousers and a shirt / polo. No shorts, breeches or sweatpants.

By the way, on holidays such as New Year, Christmas or during the performance of famous, world DJs, a real pandemonium is going on in the club. Huge lines at the entrance! Which almost goes around the entire hotel. And the locker room is transferred to the hotel building. So, if anything, be prepared to run a couple of hundred meters from the hotel entrance to the club entrance, in the cold (if it will be winter) in one dress. It was because of the queue and this locker room that both times at Christmas and New Year's we ended up leaving for Answay.

Output: The club is really worthy of its task - the best club in the country. And if you get a chance, be sure to visit it.

My IMHO: The club is really cool, cool and grand.

Briefly about the main:
Working hours: Thursday - Saturday from 22:00 to 7:00

Luggage storage: 5,000 won (just under $5) per bag.
What to wear: Strict face - control for foreigners. So clubwear. For girls dresses or skirt + top. For a guy, trousers \ jeans + shirt \ polo. No running shoes or sportswear.

The address: B1/B2 New Hilltop Hotel, 152 Nonhyeon-dong, Kangnam-gu, Seoul / 서울시 강남구 논현동 152 뉴힐탑호텔 B1/B2, South Korea 135-011
How to get there: Hak-dong Subway Station (Subway Line 7), Exit 4 Exit the subway and walk straight along Nonhyeon-ro. After 2 junctions on the right side you will see the New Hilltop Hotel. Club in the basement of the hotel. Walk from the subway for a maximum of 5 minutes.

And then my friend could not come at the last moment!!! Well, I went alone, besides, I heard that Seoul very safe, there are no drunken brawlers in the clubs (except for foreigners ... lol ... more on that below), no one bothers or drags you by force. And besides, it was a considerable trump card, since I learned very interesting information from one blog: if a lonely foreign woman languidly stands on the sidelines or dances alone, then often Koreans are interested in it, it seems like it’s interesting to hang out with a foreigner ... And then they can invite to the VIP zone. And it's always interesting to meet natives...
By the way, in general, as a foreigner, they didn’t get to know me much in places like public catering, but a guy I knew said: as soon as he sits down in a cafe or restaurant, everyone immediately gets acquainted with pleasure: both boys and girls. From which we concluded with other girls that, apparently, this only applies to guys. The guy and the other guy will easily fit and the girl, it’s clear why, will sit down. But with girls it’s a different story, guys are shy, and Korean women generally dislike females (competitors), especially foreigners.
So, I myself came, danced, looked around, I didn’t particularly like the music - I heard it better in clubs. But the size of the club is large, of course ... in the middle there is a central hall, which offers a view from two or three floors), an impressive guard is on duty at the stairs, there is also a special transparent elevator for "special clients", since there is the notorious VIP zone, so that from top to bottom look at the dead. To be honest, such an obvious, deliberate division into “classes” zones somehow doesn’t look very pleasant… Another advantage is an incredible wall-to-wall screen, against which the DJ sits and towers over everyone, excellent lighting. (I found one photo without a signature, the rest I found on the Internet so that there was some kind of idea) And the main highlight of the "lol" show is the toilet, so big, clean with sofas, with all the amenities, the girls sit, put on makeup, chat. I have not seen such care for visitors in the toilet in other clubs where I have been, and not only clubs .. Here I managed to get a better look at club fashion, it stuck in my memory that some of them were dressed as if not in a club, but on a high-society evening ...
In the end, I began to get bored, because I didn’t particularly like the music, the mix didn’t shine with variety: only tyts-tyts-tyts two swoops - three stomps. I took a cocktail and stood on the sidelines to observe. And then, at first, foreigners began to pester - barely got off, almost sent one to " a good place"- so grabbed. But after a couple of minutes two aborigines come up, they call me to the VIP zone (as the blogger described ha ha ha). Well, I broke down a little for decency, but there was a tick in the plan - to see what serious people are protecting there security guards… Well, the VIP area on the second floor is open rooms along the walls, like balconies overlooking the central dance floor, divided into sectors with sofas. Drink different food on the table, eat - I don’t want ... True, the interlocutor was annoying, of course, I didn’t count on a highly intellectual conversation, but at least for pleasant communication with light, and not “heavy primitive” flirting and humor, yes and I love to dance in clubs, what to talk about when the music yells, especially when two in broken English try to hear and understand each other . In addition, he also wanted to stubbornly sit on the couch - so lazy. In general, having become even more sad, I quickly left him, but I thanked myself that I opened access to the VIP zone.  I went to explore the rest of the floors. On the latter there were already separate rooms with translucent glass, which are rented by groups of friends. Then I accidentally burst into a closed room, either with sofas, or with a bed and a Korean reclining there ... ha ha ha ... and somehow immediately went back, otherwise you never know what adventures I will run into ... ha ha ha … On the top floor, I talked to nice people from a group of friends who rented a room about DR. And, in the end, not particularly late, at about 3:00 she crawled home. I really liked a small detail - a soft path on the sidewalk (like on playgrounds), took off his heels and comfortably walked along it, as if they came up with a ha-ha especially for such tired, night-time pedestrians ... In general, I’ll say, if it weren’t for the music (well, the taste of everyone is different), quite a good club. Tomorrow awaited reconnaissance in Hongdae... and, as it turned out, the morning-night either dinner or breakfast at 5:00 am (lay down early is called).
IN Hongdae() has its own specifics, quite different from Gangnam, so many clubs on several square meters are hard to imagine, they are all very small, compact, with a different atmosphere and music - you can find it for every taste. But a little tight, of course, but in one I really liked the music. And there was some kind of chaos on the street, there was darkness among the people, the noise was incredible, it was very easy to get lost, everyone was in a hurry somewhere, there was a suffocating aroma of street food, a lot of young people and a lot of bands playing on the streets. Some kind of endless extravaganza of sounds, light and smells...

A friend who left me offered to go clubbing on Hongdae with her the next day. At the same time, she promised that there was some kind of "guide to the clubs" who knows everyone, is his own everywhere, and for a moderate amount will guide you through Hongdae and offer a couple of cocktails. True, the meeting of the tour group was scheduled in childhood, so, as I suspected, at first we settled in a strange half-empty bar, then we walked along the street, watched impressive rap battles. Everyone dissed each other, the crowd gathered around, buzzed, cheered approvingly. Since I had not participated in this before, it was interesting, however, I felt a little stupid, because they read in Korean ... It turned out that I only listened to the rhythm and looked at the burning emotions  As for our tour group as a whole, for the first hour and a half, many were dissatisfied with the walk, because it was too early: the first clubs were half empty ... We visited 4-5 in total ... For the first time in my life, I visited so many places in one night! In our "tour group", of course, there were more than half of foreigners, and here I felt the difference between foreigners and Koreans. The American guy from our "night tour group" got tired of pestering, drank a little and suffered ... The Koreans behaved very decently, however, as I found information on the Internet: they don’t get drunk, they don’t paw, they don’t roll up right behind and they adequately accept refusal. And I understood why foreigners are so disliked in clubs in Korea, just
