An excerpt characterizing Zaiko, Leonid Nikolaevich

“I burned this to prove my love to her. I just kindled the ruler on fire, and pressed it.
Sitting in his former classroom, on the sofa with pillows on the handles, and looking into those desperately animated eyes of Natasha, Rostov again entered that family room, children's World which made no sense to anyone but him, but which gave him some of the best pleasures in life; and burning his hand with a ruler, to show love, seemed to him not useless: he understood and was not surprised at this.
– So what? only? - he asked.
- Well, so friendly, so friendly! Is this nonsense - a ruler; but we are forever friends. She will love someone, so forever; but I don't understand it, I'll forget it now.
- Well, so what?
Yes, she loves me and you so much. - Natasha suddenly blushed, - well, you remember, before leaving ... So she says that you forget it all ... She said: I will always love him, but let him be free. After all, the truth is that this is excellent, noble! - Yes Yes? very noble? Yes? Natasha asked so seriously and excitedly that it was clear that what she was saying now, she had previously said with tears.
Rostov thought.
“I don’t take back my word in anything,” he said. - And besides, Sonya is so charming that what kind of fool would refuse his happiness?
“No, no,” Natasha screamed. We already talked about it with her. We knew you would say that. But this is impossible, because, you understand, if you say so - you consider yourself bound by a word, then it turns out that she seemed to have said it on purpose. It turns out that you still forcibly marry her, and it turns out not at all.
Rostov saw that all this was well thought out by them. Sonya struck him yesterday with her beauty. To-day, seeing her for a glimpse, she seemed even better to him. She was a lovely 16-year-old girl, obviously passionately loving him (he did not doubt this for a minute). Why should he not love her now, and not even marry her, thought Rostov, but now there are so many other joys and occupations! "Yes, they thought it up perfectly," he thought, "one must remain free."
“Very well,” he said, “we’ll talk later.” Oh, how glad I am for you! he added.
- Well, why didn’t you cheat on Boris? the brother asked.
- That's nonsense! Natasha screamed laughing. “I don’t think about him or anyone, and I don’t want to know.
– That's how! So what are you?
- I? Natasha asked, and a happy smile lit up her face. - Have you seen Duport "a?
- Not.
- Did you see the famous Duport, the dancer? Well, you won't understand. I'm what it is. - Natasha, rounding her arms, took her skirt, as if dancing, ran a few steps, turned over, made an antrash, beat her leg against her leg and, standing on the very tips of her socks, walked a few steps.
- Am I standing? behold, she said; but she couldn't stand on tiptoe. "So that's what I am!" I will never marry anyone, but I will become a dancer. Do not tell anyone.
Rostov laughed so loudly and merrily that Denisov felt envious from his room, and Natasha could not help laughing with him. - No, it's good, isn't it? she kept saying.
- Well, do you want to marry Boris anymore?
Natasha flushed. - I don't want to marry anyone. I'll tell him the same when I see him.
– That's how! Rostov said.
“Well, yes, it’s all nonsense,” Natasha continued to chat. - And why is Denisov good? she asked.
- Good.
- Well, goodbye, get dressed. Is he scary, Denisov?
- Why is it scary? Nicholas asked. - Not. Vaska is nice.
- You call him Vaska - strange. And that he is very good?
- Very good.
“Well, come and drink some tea.” Together.

On the eve of the Russian Cup final between Kazan and Moscow Dynamo, the Russian women's volleyball record holder in terms of the number of cup finals answered the SE's questions.

Andrey ANFINOGENTOV
from Krasnodar

- To what extent does your coaching fate depend on the outcome of the final match?

Generally does not depend. The decision has already been made, I will work with the team until the end of the championship.

- In what status?

For several years now, I have been an adviser to the general director of the club on sports issues. The post of head coach is formally vacant today, but these duties are entrusted to me until the end of this season. The issue of status is not decisive and truly important in this story. The club does not want to rush into making such an important and serious decision.

- Why?

Finding a coach for Dynamo is not so easy in principle, and it is probably not necessary to do this during the season. I know the players, the girls know me. I was constantly next to the team at the games, I saw how training process. My assistants will remain the same. In this sense, the changes will be minimal. I think we can do it.

- In February, you will turn 66, this is not a critical age for a coach, but working with Dynamo Moscow involves stress - the club is always aimed at solving maximum tasks, and these are always nerves, pressure, overload. You risk shortening your life.

I don't think you are right. Yes, coaching is a constant stress, but by choosing this profession, you should be prepared for it. And then, there are victories, and this is an excellent cure for stress.

- The final round is hosted by Krasnodar for the second time in a row. This region is special for you. Here you won your first title as a coach. Do you remember how and where it happened?

Yes, in Sochi. In 1998, CSKA and I won the Russian Cup for the first time. The upcoming final for me personally is the seventh in my career.

- In the 90s, the value of the Cup was greatly underestimated. How to assess the prestige of the tournament today?

How tall. Everyone plays best players and the teams of our country. Neither Uralochka nor CSKA took part in the first draws. I coached CSKA in the 90s, and we soon began to play in the Cup, but still it was a tournament without the players of the national team. Today, all of them enter the court in the final round, already by this fact causing considerable interest in the tournament.

- Kazan "Dynamo" in Krasnodar did not give even one game to the rivals, your team played three tie-breaks. That's why the favorite is Kazan. Or do you disagree with this assessment?

It's not about the number of games played and tie-breaks. Kazanians are a real team. This is a well-played, skillful and close-knit team. Players in Kazan are well aware of any of their maneuvers on the court, they understand each other perfectly and know and can do a lot in volleyball. This is their trump card, and essential.

- Trump cards of the Moscow "Dynamo" are known to all. This is a strong balanced squad, in which all positions are duplicated, the leaders of the golden team of Russia at the last European Championship in the starting six. Why didn't these trump cards work in the first half of the season?

We failed to realize the potential of the players. We played well, but the sum of the qualities of the athletes gathered in the club is higher than our game. Here, in Krasnodar, we realized that we were becoming a real team. The game that we demonstrated in the group inspires me with restrained optimism. In the semi-finals, when required, we again showed our best qualities. Yes, two games didn't work out, but "District" played well, it should be noted.

- "Dynamo" was at great risk of being left without a final, having played another tie-break as a result. Why did you set the task to save energy?

This is not a task worth solving. The girls themselves understood that, ideally, one should not waste extra emotions and strength, but this is the Cup, and there are strong players in the "District" lineup, there are very good coach works. And the day off affected our game. He didn't work for the team. A pause in such a tournament is sometimes superfluous. In our case, this is so. And the weather, of course, is very uncomfortable here, it’s cool in the hotel, it’s simply dangerous to go out for a walk - there is a risk of catching a cold. This, apparently, also affects. But we showed character again, it pleases me. This has never happened to us before. I think character can help us in the game with Kazan.

ALL COACHES ARE RUSSIA CUP WINNERS

Tonight, in the final, coaches who have already won this tournament twice will compete for the victory. The record holder of the Russian Cup in terms of the number of victories is the late Pavel Matienko, who worked in Zarechye-Odintsovo near Moscow. Zaiko could become the second coach to win the Cup with two different clubs. Valery Losev, who is currently working with Proton, was the first to achieve this. 12 specialists became the winners of the Russian Cup, while only four managed to win the championship.
