TP: Vladislav Aleksandrovich, now Diesel is going through difficult times, what can your team really claim for this season?
- A club with such a history as "Diesel" cannot but set itself only the maximum tasks. We are working, during the season there is a restructuring, even if not everything goes smoothly, but all our hockey players, coaches and management set maximum goals. Naturally, the first of these is access to the playoffs. And this is a completely different tournament. And we all understand perfectly well that in order to feel comfortable at the decisive stage of the championship, we need to place as high as possible in the regular season.

TP: Years returned to Penza, was the choice of "Diesel" a conscious decision?

— In general, I always try to make only conscious decisions. And how could it be otherwise, I was returning to my hometown, which I love very much. Here is my homeland, here is the school and the team, only thanks to which I was able to show something in big hockey. I am grateful to my native club that it was in Penza that they gave me the opportunity to play until the age of 40, and if not for a knee injury, perhaps I could still play now.

TP: Your return to Penza "was unexpected for many, but they fell in love with you even more when the standard defender. I remember then Bulin was called "uncle" in the team, a person who not only went to the court, who could support partners, but when necessary " cram "them and start the whole team. And in today's "Diesel" has a new "uncle"?

- A holy place is never empty (!). Now our captain Andrei Kuzmin has become such a leader, as you call him “uncle”. Despite the fact that he is no longer a boy, look at how he works out every episode on the ice, leads his partners, climbs to the last five. Here is a modern striker standard for you. I'll tell you this, the team has a certain backbone assembled from experienced players. Zhenya Chesalin, Maxim Popov, Alexey Potemin, Alexey Ivanov. We really miss Alexei now, he is a groovy player, but he has a serious injury. Doctors promise to remove the cast only at the end of January, it will take time to recover. We look forward to his speedy return to the ice.

TP: How can you explain the unstable performance of Diesel in recent matches?

- We try to analyze every game, we talk with the guys with someone in the locker room and that's enough, we have to talk face-to-face with someone. There are players to whom I have a lot of complaints, I don’t want to name their names now. Most of the complaints are against the defenders, sometimes such mistakes, passivity at your own goal, at least go out on the ice yourself. Our defenders lack toughness and hockey aggression. Really not a single power reception in recent games didn't see. And the texture of the defense players allows us to act differently, our defenders are heroes, everyone weighs more than 100 kg like a rebound.

Let's not confuse hockey with fisticuffs. Stas is a good promising defender, so I have much less complaints about him than about other defense players. He is a strong guy and can stand up for his partners. But situations on the site are different. We have never promoted a hooligan style of play. Just last year, Stanislav often had to punish insolent and boors on the ice. There were no such cases this season, although power hockey will not hurt him.

TP: Vladislav, as I have been noticing lately, your relationship with the fans is not very good, there is a lot of criticism of the coaching staff, how do you react to the behavior of the fans?

- There are always demanding fans in Penza. Everyone knows hockey. We have hockey city this is sport number 1. We are all grateful to our fans, for the support they provide to the team not only in the stands of the Diesel Arena, our fans follow the team all over the country. Thank you so much, it means a lot to us.

I adequately treat criticism addressed to me, but how do I react? Calm down, I hear everything they want from me. For this, today we are working to please our fans more often. I don't see the point in any clarification of the relationship. Criticism is not always objective, but this is quite understandable. I understand perfectly well that I am a young coach, as a defender and experienced, and coaching career for me is just beginning. In a number of defeats, there is also my fault, I made mistakes due to inexperience, somewhere I didn’t guess with the goalkeeper, the combination of players. Experience comes with age, I can say one thing, I really love my native club and I want to do as much as possible for it. The main thing is to have someone to go to the result. We work closely with my chief assistant Valery Kukushkin, and of course with our captain Andrey Kuzmin in close contact. You need patience and maximum dedication, then the result will come, and the pucks will fly into the opponent's net more often.

TP: The loss of one of the best goalkeepers Sergey Khoroshun has become with a strong blow for the team?

- It is unpleasant when key players leave in the middle of the season. Naturally, they bet on him both in the decisive games of the regular season and in the playoff series. Such is life, we couldn't keep the goalkeeper by force, who no longer wants to play for the Penza club. He connects his departure with family circumstances, even the wife of the hockey player asked to let him go from Diesel. The good guy is no longer on the team, and it makes no sense to talk about it. We had two almost equal goalkeepers, and then Lokomotiv Yaroslavl withdrew Yuri Klyuchnikov, in return we got a very young Maxim Glyzin. He is not yet quite ready to play at the VHL level. Before the trip to Balashikha, we signed a contract with Alexander Galaisha. I hope that he will be able to quickly join the team and become a good replacement for Khoroshun.

TP: Before the playoffs, do you plan to strengthen, do you have players in mind who can help the team?

- Perhaps someone else will drive up from Yaroslavl, but basically we rely on those hockey players that we have.

TP: As far as I know, you did not take part in the selection work of the club in the off-season, now you are thinking about the future, how will the team be formed for the next season?

- No, I didn't. But there is no need to focus on this. We work with those hockey players that we have today. And I can't say that weak players play in Penza. Although I have claims to certain guys.

TP: Are you already thinking about the future of the club?

- We will start fundamental negotiations on the players after the end of the season, but I will definitely say that we will head for the rejuvenation of the squad.

TP: Do you already have someone in mind?

— Yes, there is, but I don’t see any reason to talk about it yet, I’ll tell you everything as soon as an agreement in principle is reached.

TP: You are a risky person. Few of the VHL coaches trust the youth as much as you do, are you not afraid to fail?

I trusted and will do. on young and promising players and we will bet in the near future. You know what I'll tell you, in episodes the youth, which we have already brought to the main team, gives heat to our experienced players. And it doesn’t matter that they make mistakes, they don’t spoil the overall picture, and sometimes they sensibly pull the blanket over themselves.

– Vladislav, what did Metallurg lack in the semi-finals against Lokomotiv last spring?

- I think, first of all, the injuries of leading players, such as Vitaly Atyushov, Yaroslav Kudrna, affected. In addition, there was not enough physical freshness. We lost it at the end of the season. All these shortcomings were revealed in the series with Lokomotiv. Almost four defenders played in the semi-finals. We only had two hit fives. It's hard to play the semi-finals like that. Even if they reached the final, it would be almost impossible to win there.

– Lokomotiv in the playoffs and in the regular season - were they two different teams?

– Absolutely. Of course, Lokomotiv acted from defense before that, but in the playoffs Yaroslavl played more disciplined and responsibly in defense, which is why such a result.

– What did you do well last summer?

- Now such an age that you need to monitor your health, as well as solve everyday issues. Of course, I had time to take care of myself, but I did not show myself in anything. Rested in America, three months flew by unnoticed. They promised their son to go to Disney World in Orlando on his seventh birthday.

– Did you like it yourself?

“I was there with my wife seven years ago. It’s hard for parents: all day in the heat, rides everywhere, high humidity.

– What attraction did you personally like?

- Four times I rode the "Hulk" with its dead loops. I liked it very much.

– Did the Russian national team awaken interest in football in June?

“Honestly, I'm not much of a football fan. At that time I was in America, where they practically do not like football. Only in the news on Russian television I saw stories about how our team performed.

– If he was carrying a secret, who is the head of the Bulin family?

- As in ordinary families, I earn money. All men's responsibility lies with me. My wife takes care of the child, school, our housing affairs. This happens in many Russian families. No one dominates anyone. Each of us has our own responsibilities, and we fulfill them.

- We could have performed better, but the judges, of course, worked unrealistically. I didn’t worry about Alexei Tishchenko at all, this man has already become a legend. If he enters the professional ring, he can achieve a lot.

– What sport would you like to try yourself in?

- But not in athletics, I'm too heavy for her (laughs). Perhaps in rowing, javelin throwing, discus throwing.

– Which of the hockey players of the Russian national team of world champions-2008 do you know well? Which of them were congratulated?

- I called and congratulated Alexei Morozov. I saw him in Miami when we went to Orlando. Imagine meeting him at the store. Lesha Tereshchenko called, congratulated. I congratulated the rest of the guys already here in Russia when I ran into them at tournaments. What to say? Of course, well done, they played great!

– Did you yourself believe in victory during the final match?

- Our whole championship played well. I was convinced that they would be at least in the final, but did not expect such a denouement. I thought that the Canadians would hold the winning score…. Ilya Kovalchuk, of course, handsome!

– What does your good mood?

- So that there are more victories, and that everything is safe in the family.

– What do you usually start your morning with?

- With the obligatory reception of a cool shower. Then I drink a cup of tea or coffee, then - procedures for taking vitamins to increase immunity. And then I go to practice. But a shower is a must every morning.

– How do you recover, first of all, psychologically after matches?

- At 36, you can’t keep a lot of negative emotions, delve into yourself. You need to get rid of the bad, leave only the positive features. There are moments when you make mistakes, you start to analyze your shortcomings, but you need to forget about them. There are no perfect players, everyone makes mistakes. Just like in life, there are no perfect people.

- Yesterday Metallurg lost (the conversation took place the day after the defeat from Ak Bars at the Romazan memorial). How did you spend the evening?

- I sat in the locker room, thought about what I did wrong. Then I had dinner, drove home by car, watched TV and went to bed.

– What programs do you prefer?

– Learning channels: National Geographic, Discovery. I love educational and educational programs.

– Some hockey players get into nasty road accidents with their cars. Do you like fast driving?

- I'm not 20 years old, I have a family, so I don't like it. I drive a BMW.

– Is it important for you to play hockey as long as possible, like Chris Chelios?

- Of course, I will try, as long as I am in demand, I will play. When there are problems, then I will start thinking about ending my career. This year, I worked very hard on myself, lost weight, doing exercises for speed. What to hide, overall defenders weighing over a hundred kilograms do not have enough speed, so this summer I focused on high-speed training. I lost seven kilos.

- Metallurg's defensive line has undergone not the most serious changes, if we talk only about the defenders. What thoughts does this give you?

Why change them year after year? Everything is fine with our line of defense. If everyone was healthy by the semi-final against Lokomotiv, we would have a good chance of reaching the final. This means that the leadership is satisfied with the actions of the defense players. They sign contracts with us - we play. Of course, I am satisfied with the fact that Metallurg's defense has not undergone major changes. The most important thing in a team is stability.

– Keys to victory over Lokomotiv?

- As they say, they knock out a wedge with a wedge. Also play from the defense, as little as possible to lose the puck in the middle zone. And, of course, with a good opportunity to score.

- Vladislav Alexandrovich, what conclusions did you draw after the tournament in Izhevsk?

The process is underway. We have flaws both in tactical schemes and in individual work with players. All this is being worked out. The main thing is that we are ready for this work. Before the tournament in St. Petersburg, there is still time to work on the schemes in your zone, the middle zone and the opponent's zone. Errors were identified in these moments, and we are now thinking how to fix them.

- Of the three matches - two wins and third place. Do you think this is a good result?

As for any athlete, this is not enough for me to count good result. Coaches set maximum goals for their team. For any professional, the result is important. It's good that we took revenge on the CSK VVS, but we lost to them in the first game. We had an advantage in the game with Molot-Prikamye, because they arrived on the day of the game, and we a little earlier. We had more time to rest and prepare.

- Which of the guys surprised you?

I won't get into names, but defensively we have issues that need to be seriously worked on. There are those who showed a positive result. So far, on a five-point scale of our defense, I would put a "three". Many still have a lot of work to do individually. There are guys who think that playing defense is just not conceding. But you need discipline and self-organization. I think we will achieve results in this regard.

- You work with defenders. How would you characterize the defense of Ugra?

I will not say that we have a powerful defense in physical plane. Our defenders have an average height of 183 cm. I think that in defense we need oversized guys who will play aggressively and attacking hockey. It should be borne in mind that we have a small market of players. Selection work will still be carried out. The team is a living organism, it needs nourishment. Whether in defense or attack, there will be adjustments in the line-up during the season.

Players usually say that they draw conclusions and correct mistakes during the match. Do coaches make mistakes during a match? If so, how are these errors corrected?

We spend a lot of time introspection. Coaches delve into themselves even more. Sometimes it seems that the wrong word was picked up during a conversation with the player, and it was necessary to approach the problem a little differently. After each game, we analyze for a long time not only the actions of the players, but also our own. This is painstaking work. Each coach always has his own plan of action, his own notes. For each player, we put together a puzzle of his individual qualities. A hockey player is made up of details, and we need to put all his strengths together.

- The next tournament is less than a week away. How will you prepare for it?

The tournament in St. Petersburg will become final stage pre-season training. There we either become dull or sharpened. In Izhevsk, we played with only two teams, and in St. Petersburg we have to meet with the top clubs of the VHL. This tournament will only benefit us, because we start the season just with matches against teams from St. Petersburg.

This is your first experience in Kazakhstani hockey, what can you say about the development of this sport in our country?

- "Torpedo" (Ust-Kamenogorsk) I knew from the time when I played. This is a team with a huge hockey tradition. How many guys came out of "Torpedo" ... all played on high level. There has always been a strong children's sport school It's not a secret for anyone. It's a new challenge for me to work in another country with a new head coach. I am very glad that I ended up in such an eminent club.

Vladislav Alexandrovich said that during the two days of his stay in our city he had already managed to see it.

I really liked Ust-Kamenogorsk. Clean, tidy, very friendly people.

You have been a coach for five years. Quickly adapted to a new role in hockey?

Not everything came at once. The first two years were very difficult. When I started, in Disilista, I was transferred from a player to coaches. It's hard. The specifics are completely different. Today you are sitting with the guys on the bench, in the locker room, here you are being transferred to work as a coach, and from tomorrow you will join the team in a different role. At the same time, you know that these are not children, but adults ... and now you are already responsible for these professionals ... Gradually I began to get used to it, but still, every day you need to study and study again. In order to be a highly qualified coach, I need to gain experience. That is why I decided to take such a step - to work with such a coach as Alexei Gennadievich, to learn from him.

During your playing career you have had many penalty minutes. Often not restrained by emotions?

From an early age I showed my fighting qualities. It was in my blood.

Did your experience playing overseas have a big impact on your career?

By the way, when I went abroad (Vladislav Bulin played for North American clubs: Hershey Bears, Philadelphia Phantoms (both AHL), Michigan K-Wings (IHL), and also defended the colors of German teams: Starbulls Rosenheim, Augsburger Panther and Hannover Scorpions - approx. . author), learned a little more about this business (power hockey - author's note) professionally. In my job, I needed to lead the team behind me, in right moment Stand up for yourself and at the same time for your partner. Abroad, if you play tough, there will definitely be a person on the other team who will come up and say: let's check how tough you are. Therefore, I had to throw off my gloves and get bumps ... But first of all, when I played there, I began to treat my business, my physical condition more professionally. In the summer, I didn’t need to be “kicked” to train. The season ended, I rested for exactly two weeks, and then, without a coach, I worked out in the gym, cycling, preparing on my own, and there was no need to push me.

Now, as a coach, how do you feel about when your wards come into conflict with rivals on the ice? Usually coaches do not approve of this ...

This is fine. Hockey is a hard, even violent sport, I think it should be. Adrenaline, emotions, hockey is boring without it.

What can you say about the composition of "Torpedo"?

This summer, we, with the coaches, with the management - with Sergey Lvovich, did a very high-quality selection work. It's the quality. In order to create a combat-ready, strong team that is capable of solving the highest tasks. We are new coaching staff we want to make a formidable, attacking, aggressive "Torpedo" so that they would be afraid of us. As they say, the strong are respected.

Kostya Turukin worked with you in Ariada, who is now watching here. In your opinion, what are his chances to gain a foothold in the "Torpedo"?

He came here for a viewing contract at my suggestion. It's no secret that Ariada will not play in the VHL next year. Kostya Turukin during my work in that team was a central striker. We worked together for three months, and he was the leader of the team, he led it with him. Therefore, he has good chances to stay at Torpedo, but everything will depend only on him.

Can you tell us about yourself, what are you like in life?

If we talk about personal relationships with players, communication off the field, do you give them any life advice?

I always say: do not look back, you only need to go forward and achieve your goals. Painstakingly, stubbornly move towards them. Work with dedication. Only with full dedication is it possible to grow as a professional player.
