The fight between Gennady Golovkin and Martin Murray will take place in Monaco. The main fights of February: from Golovkin to Chudinov The last fights of Gennady Golovkin on February 21

Should be the fight of the month. Two 32-year-old boxers are in the "golden" age for this sport, but in different career situations.

Golovkin had 31 fights in the professional ring, winning all of them, 28 of them by knockouts. Actually, he was considered the main knockout among all world champions until he got to the WBC heavyweight title.

AT this moment Golovkin himself owns the WBA "super belt" and the belt interim champion WBC, who won in his last fight on October 18 last year against Marco-Antonio Rubio.

This will be the second defense of the WBA "super belt", which he put on instead of the usual championship on June 27, 2014, beating Daniel Ghily in New York's Madison Square Garden.

In general, in the last two fights, Golovkin spent less than five rounds in the ring, so fans and experts are waiting that Murray will still be able to impose some kind of struggle on the Kazakhstani and will last longer.

At the same time, the quotes of the British are low. Moreover, Golovkin even allowed himself to speculate about the upcoming battles, expressing confidence in victory.

Murray himself is brave and expects not only to give the Kazakhstani a fight, but to win. At least in words:

- I had a tense training camp for 12 weeks and I did my best to fight for the win in this fight. Golovkin's accomplishments speak for themselves, but that's not what I'm focusing on. I'm focused on winning. I am ready to endure the pain of his blows and will do everything in order to win.

So far, in the professional ring, the Briton, who has fought 32 fights, has been defeated only once. However, it turned out to be quite painful. In his latest for now title fight in April 2013, Martin lost in Buenos Aires to Argentine Sergio Gabriel Martinez by unanimous decision.

Since then, the Briton entered the ring four times and each time celebrated a victory, but his opponents were not the most serious.

Is in track record Murray and a draw when the referees disagreed over his fight with the German for the WBA super champion title in December 2011. Then one referee gave victory to each of the boxers, and the third judge counted equality.

The German then kept the belt to give it nine months later to Daniel Ghily, from whom Golovkin took the title.

The boxers went through two weigh-ins. The first took place a month before the fight, which is a "trick" of the WBC. This rule was introduced so that the fight does not break at the last moment.

The second and last weigh-in took place the day before and showed that both boxers met the middleweight limit of 72.6 kg from the very first attempt. The challenger turned out to be 400 g heavier. Under Murray, the scales showed 72.5 kg, and under Golovkin - 72.1 kg.

For the Briton, today's fight could be last chance to compete for the title, especially if Golovkin gets another easy and quick win.

Thus, Murray's task will be to show good boxing, to last as long as possible and shine in front of the HBO audience in order to get good contracts in the future.

Forecast "Gazeta.Ru": Golovkin's victory by knockout in the seventh round

No matter how brave Murray is, it is very difficult for him to count on a positive outcome in a fight with the Kazakh champion. At the same time, the Brit is quite a tough nut to crack and should last longer on his own two feet than Golovkin's previous rivals combined.

"SE" announces the main fights of February

Nakhon Sawan, Thailand

Wanhaeng MENAYOTHIN (Thailand) - Geoffrey GALERO (Philippines)

A somewhat mysterious champion against an equally mysterious challenger. Until recently, the current holder of the WBC title in the category up to 47.6 kg Menayothin, if anyone knew, it was mainly seven and a half of his comrades in the gym, five of whom have such names that it is better to hang yourself than try to pronounce them. However, on November 6 last year, Menayothin unexpectedly painfully puffed up the strong Mexican Osvaldo Novoa, from whom he borrowed his title. It is unlikely that the inexperienced Galero will be able to do the same with the Thai. Moreover, he does not have a knockout blow, which means that there is nowhere for unexpected happiness to come from.

Monte Carlo, Monaco

Gennady GOLOVKIN (Kazakhstan) – Martin MURRAY (Great Britain)

For many years, the fight of any boxer with the WBA super champion in the category up to 72.6 kg Golovkin has been formed according to one formula, but in two versions: "it hurts-it's a shame" or "it hurts-it hurts-it hurts-OBI-I-IDNO-O- Oh-oh." The last case is if the fight drags on. It is quite possible that for Murray the fight will take place according to the second scenario, since he has a strong head, which he clearly proved two years ago in an almost won fight with Sergio Gabriel Martinez, who was then still with all his regalia.

It is clear that Murray will bet on outplaying Golovkin, will run and feint, but I can hardly imagine that at some point he would not catch up with him and lay him down, as he does with everyone. That being said, there is a chance that Murray will spoil Golovkin's blood a bit on the way to the inevitable finale, although not necessarily.

Hecky BADLER (South Africa) vs. Jesus SILVESTRE (Mexico)

Not the most ordinary African will fight with a fairly typical Mexican. I don’t know if Badler, the WBA title holder in the 47.6 kg category, hunted crocodiles as a child (to be honest, I doubt it, since this is not a child’s business), but apparently it’s somewhere in the genes. At least that's the impression you get when you see his work in the ring. Badler seems to be fighting a beast stronger than himself and does not go ahead. But, if he feels the moment, he can break it.

Silvestre is a simpler comrade. Of course, there are more sophisticated stylists among Mexican boxers than honest girls in a brothel, but not by much, and Silvestre definitely does not belong to either stylists or honest girls. He will try to crush Badler, and with luck, he will succeed, but most likely still not lucky.

Berlin

Arthur Abraham (Armenia - Germany) - Paul SMITH (Great Britain)

There are such stupidly romantic peasants who, seeing that a fool Beautiful legs, begin to convince themselves that she is not such a fool. It's just her way of thinking. And then there are those fans who believe that if a boxer looked good in a fight, then he kind of won it. So what, what did you get more? But it was beautiful.

In the first fight between Abraham and Smith, held on September 27 last year, something like that happened. Abraham, the WBO world champion in the category up to 76.2 kg, hit quite rarely, but accurately, and a qualitative advantage in strikes was on his side. Smith moved well, beautifully cut through the air with his hands and often hit - though more often in passing. He looked really very good, but still, in my opinion, it was impossible to talk about any equality in that battle. The judges also thought so and gave the victory to Abraham, a little overdone in his direction. One even put 119-109, which wasn't even close. One way or another, the public decided that Smith should get a rematch, and so he got it.

Indio, California, USA

Randy CABALLERO (USA) vs. Alberto GUEVARA (Mexico)

The American, who holds the IBF title in the 53.5 kg category, did not have enough of his heroic-sounding name Caballero, and he also nicknamed himself the Matador. It turned out something like "heroic hero" or "twice hero". But this, of course, is not the limit. Old-timers remember that our General Secretary Brezhnev was a hero five times already.

I confess that I would not become attached to the name and nickname of Caballero, if not for some features of his career. He was cautiously led to the title, which Caballero won last October, and now it looks like he will be just as cautiously "championship". In any case, the very modest level of his opponent indicates this.

Belfast, Sev. Ireland, UK

Carl FRAMPTON (Great Britain) – Chris AVALOS (USA)

I have seen how ordinary Irish men turn into Irish fans. Just now there were normal guys talking about work, women, drinking, movies ... and suddenly these very faces are warped by the mighty Neanderthal intellect, and their happy owners turn into a herd of drunken baboons. In general, everything is exactly the same as in Russia. The only difference is that there are a lot of redheads and freckles among them, and if a fight breaks out, and it usually starts easily, the bedridden ones are not beaten very much. So it was at least in those cases that I had to observe with my own eyes.

To be honest, I'm sorry that I won't be able to go to Belfast on February 28th because everything will be great there both inside and outside the ring. Robust IBF 55.3kg champion Frampton will be fighting tough contender Avalos in his hometown, so there's a frenzy on both sides of the ropes and an unpredictable outcome. I think Frampton will win, but if I had a Ferrari, I wouldn't bet him on it. But the "Cossack" - just right.

London

Dmitry CHUDINOV (Russia) – Chris Eubank Jr. (Great Britain)

Of course, Eubank Jr. is three years old crawling through the jungle before his outstanding father Eubank Sr., but he is still a very good boxer, and now he is also very angry, since he just lost on points in a fairly equal duel at the end of November when the judges disagreed with his hated compatriot Billy Joe Saunders. So his mood will still be the same, besides, he will have to fight at home. In other words, it will be very difficult for Chudinov to defend his interim WBA title in the category up to 72.6 kg.

Today, February 21 in Monte Carlo, Monaco, one of the most anticipated fights of the beginning of 2015 will take place. In which the Kazakh super boxer Gennady Golovkin will measure his strength with a very worthy British fighter Martin Murray. Many experts in the field of boxing pros say that Murray is the most strong fighter one of those whom Golovkin had to deal with. But the most far-sighted people - bookmakers, as you can see by the odds, think otherwise, 1.04 for Gennady Golovkin's victory and 11 for Murray's victory tell us that the Briton's victory in this match is much less likely than most boxing fans think. Rather, the question is whether Murray will fall or stand until the end of the 12th round. In my opinion, even here Martin's chances are not too high, but boxing is good because everything in the ring can be decided by one blow until the last gong. You have the right to notice that the number of knockouts from Marty Murray is not impressive, but still the Briton has a chance to deny it.
Well, from the undefeated to the village in the pro ring "Kazakh Tyson" Gennady Golovkin, nicknamed "GGG", we are all waiting for a real spectacle and I'm sure we will get it in full.
