The championship of Russia 2016 among boys and girls will be held in Loo (Krasnodar Territory) in the second half of April. Traditionally, not only a tournament in classical chess will be included, but also competitions in rapid chess, blitz and solving chess compositions.
Team Championship of Russia in 2016 will be hosted by Suzdal (Vladimir region). The strongest children's teams in the country will fight from July 31 to August 13.
Significantly affected the changes in the children's Cup of Russia. Some stages of the Cup gathered an insignificant number of participants and the RCF management decided to exclude these tournaments from overall standings. All winners of the competition are automatically admitted to the Russian Championship 2017, and the winner is also sent to the World Championship at the expense of the Russian Chess Federation.

Competitions will be held in two leagues and five age groups - up to 11, 13, 15, 17 and 19 years old. The competition program includes the Russian championship in classical chess (April 20-30), rapid (April 17-20) and blitz (April 19-21).
Time control at the Russian Classical Chess Championship: 90 minutes for the whole game with an addition of 30 seconds per move, starting from the first one. The allowed time of being late for the tour is 15 minutes. Participants are prohibited from negotiating a draw until the 40th move inclusive.
Chess players who take first place in their age groups receive the right to represent Russia at the World Youth Championship. Participants who take second place receive the right to participate in the European Youth Championship.
