No less controversial was the decision to change the concept of the game, shifting the focus to the attack. At the same time, Traktor did not take into account / did not want to take into account many nuances. Here are the most important: 1 - having lost the head coach, who had formed his corporate identity in two and a half years, Traktor destroyed the system of work and play of the team that brought bronze medals to Chelyabinsk 2018, and most importantly, did not offer anything in return. 2 - the views of the new head coach on work processes and hockey did not at all coincide with his own level, as well as the level of the squad that turned out to be at his disposal. The management of Traktor openly overestimated the capabilities of the players, as well as their own, by conducting a very weak team recruiting campaign (where you need to take into account not only the players who left and newcomers, but also those who signed new contracts with Traktor or extended old ones). Lineup changes only looked good on paper. It may have been possible to save it by 85 percent, but its level has clearly fallen and did not correspond to the stated tasks. In addition, Traktor lost key, backbone players in each line. After a third of the season, the team still does not have an equivalent replacement for Pavel Francouz, the best KHL goalkeeper 2017/2018. He was not convinced to a new contract, this is certainly a loss, but this is more a story about a dream than about management - the Czech honestly worked in Chelyabinsk for three years and went to the NHL. Traktor also lost creative and motor Alexei Kruchinin, but this is also not a failure of the general manager / club, but the fact is that the decision to acquire the attacker was made by the top officials of SKA, Traktor had no chance. But there are obvious mistakes, they should be recognized. So Traktor did not offer new contracts to Yuri Petrov and Alexander Chernikov, who were great at killing time in the minority and did an excellent job in defense when playing in equal lineups; and also calmly released Linus Videll to Dynamo Riga, who by the end of October, with 24 (12 + 12) points, is in fourth place in the list of league scorers. And for sure, Traktor should have offered a new contract to Maxim Yakutsene, an intelligent player who knows how to create and convert chances. But you need to understand that Tertyshny is working and rebuilding the game model in the conditions of the most severe crisis, there are too many game problems in the team now, there are still people in the roster that the hockey community and Chelyabinsk fans have been talking about for several years in a row, and there are conceptual problems in the organization itself related to the development strategy. Traktor should decide what they want from this season and how they will develop the club further. First of all, decide for yourself. In assessing the situation, all interested parties need to be objective to the events of the past, carefully analyze the present and think about the future: keep in mind not only the upcoming matches and the fight for the playoffs right now, but also the prospect, the length of time hockey players stay on the injured list, as well as many other factors/details/nuances, as more and more new ones will be superimposed on current problems.
