Let's try to start learning the technique of the classic throw in basketball by setting the right technique. The correct execution of the throw from the first basketball practice is the key to a successful career as a sniper. The fact is that the incorrect execution of the throw is very quickly remembered by the muscles and goes into the automatic stage. A wrong roll will be unstable and generally inaccurate. After that, relearning and placing the correct throw is much more difficult than initially using the correct throwing technique in basketball. From my own experience I can say that it took me a couple of months after the start of training to work out my first throwing method (wrong elbow placement - not under the ball along the perpendicular). Naturally, there is no need to talk about accuracy, but, nevertheless, I always threw the same way - equally wrong. It's good that the coach and the guys from the team noticed my mistake in time. I began to relearn, to put on a technically correct basketball throw. It was hellish work: while everyone worked out the speed and accuracy of the throw, I honed only the technique, not thinking about speed yet. After 18 (!) months, I finally set myself a technique close to the correct one. So what is easier: to immediately start throwing correctly and have a stable accuracy, or to have a wrong throw, so that later you can retrain for a long and tedious time or shoot unstable? The answer is obvious.

However, the only correct and universal basketball shooting techniques does not exist, due to the different physical constitution of the players. Therefore, each of us throws in our individual style. However, there is a set of recommendations - basketball shooting technique - which we will analyze. Starting position at the time of the throw:

  • for a right-hander, the right foot is half a foot ahead of the left (for a left-hander, the opposite is true);
  • legs slightly bent at the knees;
