How to learn to juggle 3 balls. Follow the step by step instructions. One ball exercise

Juggling began many thousands of years ago, and the first record of it comes down to us from the time of Egypt. It's always interesting to watch others juggle, and we think it's so easy. But, for a beginner, this process is more like picking up swords than juggling. However, if you are taught how to do it and put in a lot of hours of practice, you can become a good three-ball juggler. Just follow the steps in this article.

Method 1 of 3: Convenience

Method 2 of 3: Three Balls

Method 3 of 3: Juggling Tricks

  • If you notice yourself moving forward, stand in front of a wall or bed so you have nowhere to go. Standing in front of the bed will make it easier for you to pick up dropped balls.
  • Focus on throwing balls no higher than eye level.
  • The secret to juggling is knowing when to stop. As soon as you feel that the balls are starting to fly away from you, catch them all, smile and bow.
  • For help, you can count.
    • Practice throwing balls in an arched path, with right hand to the left. Catch the ball with your left hand, then your right hand and stop. One, two, caught, caught, stop. One, two, stop. One, two, stop.
    • Continue the exercise, only this time start with the left hand. Keep going until you get good at it. Then, add the third ball. The third ball replaces the word "stop" with two balls. One two Three. One two Three.
  • Don't give up and be patient. If you think it's difficult, think of Enrico Castelli, who juggled ten balls at once! (He did practice up to 12 hours a day!)

To learn how to juggle, it is not necessary to enter a circus school or have an innate talent, just desire, diligence and a little knowledge. Since you are here, it means that you already have a desire, you will receive the necessary knowledge by reading the article to the end, only diligence remains - train, train and train until you master all the exercises one after another so that each movement is easy for you, without stress , playfully. How long it will take for everything, no one will tell you exactly: one day is enough for someone, a week is needed for someone; as a rule, children, teenagers and young people learn juggling easier and faster.

Choosing props and training space
For training, you will need three objects that are absolutely identical in weight, size and shape. Some use apples, tangerines, pieces of bricks, etc., but it is very difficult to meet all of the above requirements, and at the beginning of training they are extremely important. Therefore, it is better to leave any exotic for later and take ordinary balls first:
  • two such balls should easily fit in an open palm, holding with slightly bent fingers (suitable, for example, tennis balls);
  • the weight of the balls should be average: they should not flutter with fluff when thrown or beat your legs when you fall.
And they will have to fall often and a lot. That's why the best place for training is a bed or sofa, standing near the wall.

Stand facing the wall close to the bed, lightly touching it with your knees. So, balls falling on a soft base will not roll all over the apartment, you will not have to constantly bend over and run after them (which quickly tires and discourages you from doing anything at all), the fall will be silent and will not bother anyone; the absence of unnecessary gestures will save time and speed up the learning process.

The position “sitting on a bed (or carpet) on your knees” (such advice is sometimes found) is less mobile: until you learn to juggle confidently, you won’t have to stand in one place, you will need to be able to move freely. In addition, it is inconvenient: blood circulation is disturbed, the legs become numb, they may begin to cramp, unless, of course, you are a resident of the East, for whom this way of sitting is natural and familiar from childhood.

First training stage. Single ball handling
Keep your arms bent at a right angle at the level of the lower part chest, do not lift them up and do not pull them forward; relax, hands should feel natural and at ease.

The task is to first learn to freely manipulate only one ball, but equally easily with both hands and in different directions.

  1. Up down. Vertical throws with the right hand, then the same with the left. Sharpen to perfection. Try to increase, decrease the pace; at the time of the throw, while the ball is in the air, try to have time to clap your hands, snap your fingers, or squeeze and unclench your palm. As soon as you notice that your balls have stopped falling for at least a minute or two, you can move on to the next step.
  2. Left to right and right to left. Throwing one ball from one hand to the other.
    Arcuate (upper) throw

  3. Round Throw:
    • toss the ball in an arc with your right hand;
    • catch with your left hand;
    • now, without tossing, quickly throw (shift) it with a horizontal movement back to your right hand; the movement resembles a clap of hands;
    • repeat all over again; the ball will describe as if one permanent circle.
After a series of repetitions, change direction to the other side. Arbitrarily alternate all methods with each other. Bring the movement to automatism.

Second training stage. Working with two balls
It is very important that you enjoy everything you do. Monotony is not needed: diversify the exercises with any additions (claps, turns, etc.), combine them as you wish, pursuing the same goal: free and identical movements with both hands. Become one with the ball, feel it as the driver feels the car. If you are tired, rest; take up training later, the acquired skills will not disappear anywhere.

Third training stage. We connect the third ball
When you have mastered all the previous exercises, pick up the third ball. If you are right-handed, take two balls in your right hand and one in your left. For lefties, it's the other way around. So it will be easier to master the technique; then it will not matter which hand to start juggling with.
This can go on indefinitely and is called Cascade Juggling.
If you can perform these movements without stopping, consider that you have already learned how to juggle three balls. But you probably won't be able to right away. Each movement will also have to be worked out, like all the previous ones. The balls will collide, get confused, fall, fly past the target, but your perseverance and patience as a result will tame their obstinate nature.

How can you speed up the result?

    1. Do not immediately try to achieve a continuous "flow" of balls; make stops; mentally break the whole cycle into parts and work out each one separately, gradually combining them and reducing pauses.
    2. Let's rest our hands. Muscles can't function properly when they're under constant tension (and beginners tend to be in that state). Relax!
    3. The strength and height of the throw should be moderate, do not throw the ball up to the ceiling.
    4. Throws in one plane parallel to your face (wall).
    5. The color of the balls does not matter, but if you are training against a wall, they should not merge with it. It distracts and irritates.
What is the use of juggling for the average person?
    • Free use of both hands will bring additional benefits to your brain: it stimulates and develops the work of both halves of it equally.
    • You will always be the center of attention in a friendly company and you will acquire a very special location in the children's team, where they will look at you with admiring glances and with open mouths.
    • It will become almost impossible for you to drop or break something: you will pick up any object on the fly (not at all intending to juggle it) automatically, without thinking at all, which very often helps out in life.
Once acquired, the ability to juggle will forever remain with you, like the ability to ride a bicycle or stand on skates. Having acquired the initial skills of juggling with three balls, you will already be able to independently master more complex techniques and with a large variety of objects.

Can you juggle objects? You can see my progress in the video at the end of the post :)

You too can learn to juggle with three objects (balls, tomatoes, apples, pencils, girls). With the help of animated pictures and explanations for them in this post, the learning process will be extremely simple and understandable.

If you think that this is already juggling, then you are almost not mistaken.

Do not move on to the next step until you have learned to toss one object and, at that time, transfer another from hand to hand. Very soon you will be able to get simple basic tricks. But first things first...

One ball exercise

You need to start with one ball (it can also be an orange, an apple or any other round object). Stand straight, feet shoulder width apart. Bend your elbows, palms up. Your arms should be parallel to the floor. Take the object in one hand, and then begin to transfer from hand to hand at about eye level.

Exercise with two balls

Take a ball in each hand. Throw the ball with your right hand and when it reaches the highest point in the flight, toss the ball from your left hand to your free right hand. The ball thrown up, respectively, catch with the freed left hand. After a pause, repeat the exercise in a different order: first we toss the ball with our left hand.

After some practice, try doing this without pauses.

Three ball exercise

Take two balls in your right hand and one in your left. Throw one ball from your right hand to your left, at the same time toss the ball up from your left bow (as in the previous exercise). When the ball reaches its highest point, toss the ball from your right hand to your left. You will now have two balls in your left hand and one in your right hand. Repeat the exercise, starting with the left hand.

Now I will talk about the way most jugglers started juggling four balls. If you skillfully show this trick, then an unenlightened spectator will not even guess that the balls do not fly from one hand to another.

Although at first it seems that it is easier to throw synchronously. Follow the proven methodology: throw ten times, then three throws with each hand ten, then four, etc. Anyone can learn to juggle with four objects - a normal person has enough willpower for such achievements.

When I juggle, I hardly notice the difference in heights: I only recently learned about this. I've been juggling 4's for 3.5 months now and not sure if I can relearn. 0.5 years ago I learned to juggle three, then I abandoned this business, then somehow I took it up again and absolutely all the skills were preserved, now I set myself the goal of mastering 4.

And it goes so easy! The main thing is to throw evenly to the same height and make sure that the right and left balls do not get too close. At the same time, I do not throw 2 balls with each hand separately.

I've been juggling for a month now. I learned the cascade, columns, crown, spirals and mil masses; the fountain does not work! I seem to juggle well with two, but I can’t juggle with four - the balls scatter and that’s it !!! Help! How good are you at juggling two in one? When I started learning to juggle with four, I could freely make about 2-3 hundred throws with each hand.

Where should I juggle?

Now I can freely spread my arms about 120 degrees relative to each other and still juggle four. He himself began to learn 4 balls from an asynchronous fountain. It took two days (approximately two and a half hours a day of juggling 4's) to figure out why. And do not give up everything immediately after two or three unsuccessful attempts. In order for the balls not to collide, they must cross this line. You don't need to throw the ball far to the side.

If you are one of the latter, take the balls and go. If you want to learn a few tricks with 3-4 balls that will help you master five more easily, watch and learn. Actually, the only thing you need to learn is to accurately throw the balls to a great height. And these tricks are united by the frequent use of siteswap "5", that is, a throw to the height of juggling five balls. You can juggle at different heights, and accordingly, at different speeds.

Try to juggle to music with a given bitrate (Easy to find on VKontakte by specifying the number of N beats per minute - “N bpm”) and see what pace suits you. In order to learn how to throw 3 objects well (as well as 4-5) it is useless to stand and train the combination for hours. Juggle with outstretched arms. Spread your arms as wide as possible. First, throw one ball and catch it with the same hand to get used to the feel.

Keep practicing throwing one ball from hand to hand until you get good at it. When you juggle air, your hands make Roundabout Circulation? It is very important that the ball reaches him. maximum height, before throwing the second ball. This is especially important when you start juggling three or more balls. Start slowly, just to get a feel for how the three balls move in the air.

When the second ball is in the right hand, just catch the third ball and that's it. That's all you need to do. Now that you've learned the simple three-ball combo, learn how to throw the balls in a circle. In this method, when catching the sword, you move your hands not towards the body, but away from the body, that is, you make the reverse movement of the cascade. You can start with a simple cascade, and then gradually start throwing every third ball with a crown.

Juggling with four objects

When you have mastered these juggling techniques well, you can begin to master "columns" (one ball in the middle, others on the sides), "Mills mess" and others. In general, I advise everyone to learn, you have nothing to lose. And I learned to juggle oranges when in some children's program Kuklachev showed how to learn it.

You will be assisted throughout by our 2D juggler friend who is currently juggling three balls - the final goal of this tutorial. Many people prefer to juggle with soft balls rather than hard balls. I learned to juggle with apples, and the women of Tonga (Pacific Islands) use tui-tui nuts! Keep your elbows close to your sides, arms extended in front of you at waist height and throw the ball from one hand to the other.

Easy, right? The same technique is used by jugglers with 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 balls, etc., although I doubt that at this stage you feel very overwhelmed by your new achievements. When juggling three balls, they should fly in the same plane in front of you, as shown in the diagram on the left. However, some beginners...

But if you find that your body bends forward to catch the ball, other problems may follow. To avoid this problem, why not try juggling in front of a wall? The wall will help you see the plane you should be juggling. You should notice that the balls fall into your hands one after the other and that they will exchange places.

In a desperate attempt to make room, you throw the second ball across into your other hand and the exchange is - in a sense - complete. Some people are simply torn even at the thought of two balls hanging in the air at the same time and therefore everyone misses.

Most of the time there is only one ball in the air, and this is the ball on which you should concentrate all your attention. At this stage, it would be very helpful to stop thinking that what you are doing is a series of exchanges and start thinking that this is just a single juggling pattern, a juggling figure.

This number is suitable for performing at a school event. Juggling has no age restrictions.

Important! It's never too late to learn. It is not necessary to train on special balls, they can be replaced with tangerines.

First you need to learn how to juggle two objects. This is the first and easiest exercise.

Pick up tennis balls, tangerines or balls, not too heavy or light. Items must be the same weight.

Before starting classes, read the secrets of professionals in the table:

Advice Description
How to start classes Don't start juggling three objects until you can handle two. Increase the load gradually
Rhythm and pace Juggling is music, it is important to observe a single pace and rhythm. Find your own comfortable heart rate for training and performance
Items Learn to start on small balls, no larger than a tangerine.

After mastering the technique, you can pick up large objects like skittles or practice with burning maces.

Lesson frequency Don't skip workouts. Study every day, even if there are only 10 free minutes for a lesson.

Remember that repetition is the mother of learning. The more often and longer you rehearse, the better.

Advice! The best way study - according to the instructions of a professional. You can sign up for classes, study online or watch videos on YouTube.

The first lesson is juggling with two balls. You only need two round objects. Do not take torn balls for training, so as not to injure your hands and scratch your skin.

Follow step by step instructions:

  • Take a ball in your hand.
  • Juggling is best to start clockwise. From one hand, toss the second ball, when the first is at the top, from the right hand, pass the object to the left.
  • Maintain a wide range. The more you practice, the smaller the circle of the ball will be.
  • Try to get rid of the pause and keep the same rhythm of the flight. Repeat cycle.

When you manage to juggle two objects for 5-10 minutes without stopping, you can complicate the task: increase the speed, reduce the amplitude of the ball toss into the air.

Proceed to the next stage, when juggling 2 balls will be mastered to perfection.

Juggling 3 balls

The next trick is much more difficult. The previous exercise can be mastered within five hours, and juggling 3 balls is a difficult lesson.

More effort will be required. At first, a beginner circus performer may not be able to complete this exercise.

Important! Don't quit halfway through. Practice even if it seems like you can't master the technique.

The hardest part is changing the ball. In this case, it is necessary to correctly calculate the trajectory of movement of all balls in order to right moment in flight were the right items.

Juggling will take place in a circle.

  • think about physical features flight of balls. Break their path and the time they are in "suspended" state into equal parts.
  • Take two objects in one hand, one in the other.
  • Throw high into the air, you can even a meter up, the ball. Now there is a ball left in the hand.
  • When the ball does not reach the top of 5-10 centimeters, toss the second object into the air, simultaneously throwing the remaining object from the right hand to the left.
  • Catch the first ball. Repeat the circle of the exercise until it is perfect.

Difficult? The first lessons are quite difficult, failures can piss you off and make you quit what you started.

But already after 5-10 trainings, it will be possible to master the technique of juggling with three balls perfectly.

Advice! Learn to throw any object in the air.

Ordinary skittles or other identical substitutes will do. Master the technique of moving the balls counterclockwise.

How to juggle 4 or more objects easily

There is no limit to perfection. When the hands obediently automatically catch thrown objects and quickly change balls, you can proceed to complicate the task - juggling four balls.

The first thing to do is to turn to physics again. Conditionally imagine a circle along which the balls move in flight.

Divide it into 4 equal parts. Now has two items in the hand, the speed of throwing up and catching is increased.

As with all other exercises, start with a wide range of motion.

In addition to the classic circle, you can master a more complex juggling technique with a symmetrical pattern. The balls will describe two parallel flight paths.

Follow the simple instructions from scratch:

  1. There are two balls in hand. Throw one of the objects up at the same time with your right and left hand, directing them away from each other.
  2. When the balls have almost reached the top, throw the second ball. Use the same hand to catch the falling ball.
  3. Repeat the exercises until you get them.

It's a difficult process, and it won't take a day to master it. Technology may seem complicated to children, it is better for the older generation to start studying it.
