Onion peel for the garden and indoor plants. Paintings from onion skins by Rita Sidorenko. Ideas for creativity Paintings from onion skins how to do

What could be more entertaining than arts and crafts? Only creative activities that use unusual materials. Today, a person has learned to make interesting decorative accessories from the most seemingly inappropriate things: plastic covers, old felt-tip pens, even wooden popsicle ice cream sticks. However, it is very difficult to imagine that a kind of “masterpiece” can be made from onion or garlic peels until you try it on personal experience. Work on creating paintings and panels from such a peculiar material resembles an ordinary application. But the end result looks very creative, so that you won’t guess what exactly the image is assembled from. So, let's reveal the secret of producing an unusual onion canvas.

To work, you will need the following materials and tools:

1. Onion and garlic peel (100-200 grams of peel of various shades will be required for one picture).

2. Cardboard base (it is better to take sheets of dark shades: black, blue, brown - the plot will look clearer and more contrast on them).

3. Glue (this can be glue-moment and PVA, and even hot-melt glue - depending on what structure of the picture you want to get: smooth or voluminous).

4.Paper, pencil or finished sketch.

5. Scissors.

7. Brush.

Before starting work, prepare the husk. It can be either removed from a fresh bulb or prepared in advance a few days or weeks in advance. The extracted material should be immersed in water for a few seconds, then pulled out and dried. Wet “petals” can be immediately ironed with a medium temperature iron.

Next, you should transfer the conceived drawing to the prepared base or sketch it schematically with a simple pencil plot outlines on cardboard. The application itself will be fixed with glue, so for convenience, you can use a soft brush. In fact, garlic and onion peel is a very malleable material, so attaching it to the base is very easy. To make the shape of the picture more clear, scissors are used in creativity. With this tool, even carved elements of a pattern can be easily made from dry “feathers”. To create smooth compositions, the husk is applied to the paper as tightly as possible, and for bulky compositions, it is only partially fixed (for example, only one edge is attached). Thus, with the help of incomplete fastening of elements, animal hair, tree foliage, flower petals and other details that require dynamics and depth are imitated.

The finished onion application is usually placed in a frame. If there are no protrusions in the canvas, then the plot can be put under glass at all. Surprisingly, the paintings created from such an incredible material are very durable, so they can safely decorate the rooms of the house or present them as a gift. The most interesting works are obtained if more than one shade of husk was used in the image.

From garlic and onion "feathers" you can create not only wall panels, many craftsmen have tried non-standard techniques on the covers of notebooks, in the design of boxes and other decorative elements.

onion peel, sprigs of dill and parsley without greens, peeling potatoes ... an ordinary hostess mercilessly sends all this to the trash can. But not the artist from Ukraine Rita Sidorenko. For her, these vegetable wastes serve as material to create amazing pictures, in them she draws inspiration and another.

Rita first used such an unusual material for her paintings back in 2003.

Amazingly beautiful paintings are created long enough and painstakingly. For one work, the artist takes 100-150 grams of onion or garlic peel. The technique of doing the work is somewhat similar to the application. Initially, Rita selects, dries and irons the husk. Then he prepares the canvas - covers it with black paint. And only then sticks the husk, creating magnificent landscapes, still lifes and portraits.

The artist's collection includes more than 20 works. But, unfortunately, for 10 years of work, not a single painting was sold. And it's not because there are no people willing. so decided the artist herself. She simply gives away her paintings to friends, believing that admiration and kind words are worth more than any money.

A significant part of food waste of plant origin can be disposed of with health, environmental and personal budget benefits. A striking example of this is onion peel.

Onion peel for the garden and indoor plants

An infusion of onion peel and its waste is used to wash indoor plants, cleaning them from a dangerous pest - a spider mite.

The infusion is prepared like this. In a liter glass jar with water, put 20 g of onion peel and insist for a day. Then strain the liquid and thoroughly wash the plant with it, especially the underside of the leaves. After a day, the plant must be washed well with clean water.

Try to water indoor plants with infusion of onion peel and you will see that they will “cheer up” before our very eyes.

It turns out that onion peel is universal, it can be used more than once. After preparing a decoction, infusion or dye, do not throw away the husk, but use it as an organic fertilizer and you will definitely get a good harvest of vegetables. The husk is not only a fertility stimulant, but also an antiseptic that helps in pest control.

Used husks can be put into compost.

It is also known from popular experience that in order to combat the Colorado potato beetle, which destroys potato plantings, onion peels are buried next to the plants - the beetles cannot stand its smell.

Put a handful of onion husks in the hole when planting tomatoes, cabbage, potatoes. This helps from the invasion of the wireworm, the bear.

It is useful to spray cucumbers with an infusion of onion peel when their leaves begin to turn yellow. Take two large handfuls of husks in a bucket of warm water (about 30C), bring the water to a boil and leave to steam under the lid. When the infusion has cooled, drain. Pour 2 liters of infusion into a bucket of water (+20-22C) and pour cucumbers over the leaves.

Often with the earth (if it is not steamed), a fungus can be brought in, from which the plants get sick with a “black leg”. The “black leg” can be removed if the soil and plants are treated with an infusion of onion peel (20 g of onion scales are poured into 1 liter of water, insisted for a day, filtered and sprayed 2-3 times after 6 days.

Pure onion peel in a dry place can be stored for years without losing its therapeutic effect. One very significant remark: we take the husk removed from absolutely healthy bulbs.

In autumn, the time comes when teachers in kindergartens and schools ask parents and children to take part in exhibitions. Many willingly participate, undeservedly bypassing the attention of such a vegetable as onions. Bow crafts can be very interesting. In addition, the bow is an affordable and easy-to-process material. It is easy to cut, pierce, the bulb has a convenient shape. What do-it-yourself bow crafts to make, this article will teach you!

Cipollino

For crafts "Cipollino" take three medium-sized onions. A slightly sprouted vegetable is best for the head. Using a regular awl, make small holes for the eyes, mouth and nose. Fill in the gaps with seeds. For example, make eyes from grape or apple seeds, a nose from corn kernels, and a mouth from viburnum seed. The remaining bulbs are the body of our fairy tale hero. Cut off the tops of the fruit, carefully insert thin twigs or toothpicks there and connect the bulbs together. To attach the head to the body, cut off the root part of it and stick it on a toothpick. It is not at all difficult to make such crafts from.

Don't forget to find twigs to make the hands and feet of your Cipollino. It is better if these branches have branches at the end, so you imitate fingers. Also take a small onion, cut in half and attach with a toothpick to the lower base of the body. The hero's shoes are ready! Onion crafts delight both children and adults.

onion chrysanthemum

Very often, parents and teachers offer children to make paper flowers. Why don't you make an onion chrysanthemum? Take a small white or red onion. Clean it and cut off about one and a half centimeters at the bottom and at the top. Take a sharp knife and cut the onion in half from the top.

Do not reach the end of about 0.5 cm. We make the same cuts along the entire diagonal of the fetus. But watch the depth of the cut - if you retreat a little, the flower will not bloom, and if too much, it will simply fall apart. In addition, the thinner the layers, the more beautiful the finished flower will be. When the work with the knife is over, lower the bulb into a container of water at room temperature so that the fruit is completely hidden under the liquid. Wait an hour! During this time, the chrysanthemum in the water will bloom. If you want to get a colored chrysanthemum, then add dyes to the water. Onion crafts, the photos of which you see on the page, can be very beautiful.

Onion peel applications

Some people prefer non-traditional methods of working with vegetables. For example, onion crafts can be made using its husks. Onion peel is a very interesting and easy-to-work material that has a chic color. The husk is removed very carefully, it must not be crushed. The removed material is steamed in water (hot) for about 10 minutes. Then the husk is ironed. You can also paint the material with potassium permanganate or stain for wood.

Before starting work on the application, sort the husks into light and dark shades. As a basis, take silk, velvet or cloth, previously stretched on a stretcher. It is also acceptable to use cardboard or thick white and colored paper. Great for crafts from onion skins purple and blue shades. Black color will reduce the amount of work, but beautifully set off the golden color of the husk.

How can you work with onion peel?

Archery crafts can be real works of art. But how to work with onion peel? There are several methods:

  • Sticking the material on a fabric base, where the pattern has already been applied. Each piece is smeared with PVA glue and glued onto the sketch, fitting it to the previous one.
  • Transferring parts to thin paper - in this case, the husk is transferred to thin paper with glue, then the parts are very carefully cut out from the wrong side. Finished fragments are glued to the cloth.

Archery Crafts: Husk Flowers

To make such a craft, careful preparation is necessary. A dry onion must be wetted, cut off the rhizome and gently pull the top. The husk should carefully come off the fruit. This is the future inflorescence! For the stem, you can use the rods of cereals, garden or marsh plants. The upper edge of the rod is smeared with glue and carefully attached to the onion bud from the husk. Separate pieces of husk are glued to the bud in the form of petals. Such a bouquet will look great in a wicker vase.

Onions are a natural and environmentally friendly material. Working with him cannot harm your child, on the contrary, he will join nature and work. By turning on fantasy, you can come up with many characters from the bow and immediately create them with your own hands. Funny caterpillars, turtles, watches, various little men - the list is endless, the limit is your imagination!

Theoretical part: game plot of the lesson, historical information about the bow, information about the technology of making handicrafts from the bow.

Practical part: making crafts from onions: a cat, a dog, a cockerel, an old man and nesting dolls, "Chippolino".

Materials and tools: bulbs, seeds and seeds from grapes, matches or knots of shrubs, pieces of fabric, thread, PVA glue, awl, knife, needle, wire.

The teacher puts a "magic" box on the table, in which the onion is hidden, and offers to play the game "Guess it" - guess the object hidden in the box, asking different questions. You can ask any questions, except for the direct: "What is it?" This game teaches to connect disparate facts into a single picture, to systematize the information already available.

After the children have guessed what item is in the "magic" box, the teacher tells the story of the onion's origin.

Onion is a very peculiar plant. Different types of wild onions grow in fields and forests. What is the name of the wild type of onion? (ramson). The cultivated bow comes from Western Asia. Onion cultivation began in ancient times in China and later in India and Egypt.

In the armies Ancient Greece and Rome added a large amount of onion to the food of the soldiers, believing that the onion excites strength, energy, courage. In the Middle Ages, a miraculous remedy was attributed to the bulb: to protect warriors from arrows and blows from swords and halberds. The knights, chained in steel armor, wore a talisman on their chests - an ordinary onion. Therefore, one type of bow was called: "The Victorious Bow." At all times, all peoples have attributed healing properties to onions. The Eastern peoples had a saying: "Bow, in your arms any disease passes." The ancient Slavs used onions as a medicine for many diseases, which is reflected in the saying: "Onions from seven ailments." And in our time, scientists have found that putrefactive and pathogenic bacteria die from volatile substances emitted by onions.

The bulb was the first visual aid in the study of astronomy. Scientists of antiquity, cutting the onion across, explained to their students the structure of the Universe on it. They sometimes argued that the universe consists of several spheres - shells surrounding the earth.

As you can see, it would seem that a simple, ordinary bulb at all times and among all peoples has taken pride of place in many areas of human life. Today we will consider another area of application of the bow, look at it from an aesthetic point of view, and learn how to make various crafts out of it.

From the bulb you can make original and funny toys and figurines, favorite characters of children's fairy tales and stories. Their main advantage is ease of manufacture and availability of material at any time of the year. Bulbs are easily cut with a knife and pierced with an awl. The shape of the bulb allows you to create crafts instantly, with almost nothing to finish. For example, the figurine "Chippolino". It is enough to attach eyes, nose, mouth to the onion, and he came to life.

To make a Chippolino figurine, you need to take three medium-sized onions. For the head, you can choose a slightly sprouted bulb. With an awl, make tattoos for the eyes, nose and mouth and stick the seeds of the fruit there. For the eyes, you can use the seeds from grapes or apples, for the nose - a grain of corn, and for the mouth - a viburnum seed; form the body from the other two bulbs. Pre-cut off the tops of the bulbs, in the core make a tattoo with an awl and connect with a thin branch or half of a match, cleaned of sulfur. When connecting the head, first cut off the root part with a knife and attach it also to the body. In the manufacture of crafts, the awl is used minimally, because. fresh onion fruits are soft and easily pricked.

For the manufacture of arms and legs to the figure, you can pick up branches that look like slingshots. At the same time, the branches act as connecting elements, with the help of which the individual parts of the craft are connected to each other. Connecting sticks should not be too thick. Spatulas can be made from a small onion, cut in half; a hole is drilled in the middle and pricked on the legs-sticks.

The basis of these figurines "The Old Man and the Matryoshka" also consists of three onions, but with the help of additional materials, the nature of the craft changes. The old man's face is shaped in the same way as "Chippolino", only the beard is glued with PVA glue from corn fiber. The body is formed in the same way as that of the "Chippolino" figurine, it is fixed with the head of an old man. The figurine of the old man is complemented by additional design: you need to sew a shirt from a piece of fabric and a hat from a piece of burlap, then put it on the figurine of an old man.

The doll figurine is fastened in the same way from three onions. The face is also formed, only without a beard. The doll figurine is decorated with the help of additional decoration: a sundress skirt is sewn, and a scarf is put on the head.

A large series of toys-crafts of animals and birds can be made from bulbs, it is enough to show imagination and make an effort. For a figurine of a cat and a cockerel, you need to fasten two bulbs, one under the other. Make a cat's mustache from spruce needles. Ears - from the scales of a spruce cone. Paws and tail - from small onions, cut in half.

Set the beak from the seed for the cockerel, make the scallop, tail and wings from bird feathers. The joints of the parts can be fixed with PVA glue.

Volumetric crafts of their bow.

Onion peel applications

Theoretical part: riddles about the bow, a conversation about the concept of "application".

Practical part: preparation of material for working with onion peel, fantasy game on the topic: "What do pieces of onion peel look like?"

Materials and tools: onion peel, PVA glue, cloth, background base, tweezers.

The teacher asks the children to remember the riddles about the bow, and leads them himself.

1. There are seven skins on one bull.

The grandfather is sitting, dressed in a fur coat,
Whoever undresses him sheds tears.

Everyone loves me
And how to undress - shed tears.

4. What leads to tears without pain and sadness?

Do not beat, do not scold,
You won't lose anything, but you'll pay.

Marfutka sits in four fur coats,
Whoever kisses, he will wrinkle.

I grew up in the garden
My character is smooth:
Wherever I go
I will bring everyone to tears.

8. One hundred clothes and all without fasteners.

The teacher asks the children what features of the bow are emphasized in all the riddles and among all the answers he highlights the following: a large number of clothes - onion peels. Specifies its color. Onion husks are golden, transparent, very dense films. And it is from them that we learn to make different kinds applications.

Appliqué is the simplest and most affordable way to create artwork, which preserves the realistic basis of the image itself.

Application appeared more than 2500 years ago among nomadic peoples. They decorated her clothes, shoes, housing. For different peoples, the application is made from a wide variety of materials. These are leather, fur, felt, birch bark. Much later, fabrics cut out of paper and more became the material for appliqués.

Work on the application is carried out in a certain sequence. Any application begins with the choice of a plot, followed by drawing up a sketch for the application, selecting material, cutting out image details, laying them out on the background, gluing and drying.

Material preparation.

Onion peel is a delicate, fragile material, very rich in its color scheme. It is pleasant to work with her: she is golden, smooth. Remove the husk from the bulb carefully and use it fresh, not crumpled. The technology for harvesting material and working with it is a bit similar to harvesting and working with straw.

Onion peel is pre-steamed in hot water for 10-15 minutes until it gets wet, then ironed with a hot iron. From a hot iron, the color can change - from golden to dark brown. Onion peel can also be dyed in another way - just boil it. Can be dyed with potassium permanganate, wood stain or aniline dyes.

If this is your first work, then it is best to use a ready-made drawing, which can be simplified if desired. For the manufacture of a small application does not require a lot of material, but you can show your abilities and artistic taste.

As a background, you can use velvet, cloth, canvas, silk, stretched on a stretcher. You can use colored cardboard or velvet paper. When choosing the material - the base, which acts as a background, you need to pay attention to the fact that its color and texture are in harmony with the future composition. A suitable background sets off the beauty of the silhouette and lines, enhances their sound, forms a pleasant color combination, highlights both the entire composition as a whole and its individual details. We can recommend the following combination of colors: blue, blue, purple. Black color reduces volume, as a background enhances the effect of yellow-golden color.

It is necessary to sort the material by color and shades, taking into account the direction of fabrics, halftones and highlights (showing samples by shades: light, dark).

How to work with husks.

Gluing the husk directly onto the base according to the pattern. Pieces of husk are lubricated with PVA glue, then they are applied according to the drawing in the direction of the provided sketch. In this case, a method of fitting parts is used, which is performed immediately on the base, which is very difficult to do in practice.

Transferring each individual detail onto thin paper. Onion peel is glued with PVA glue on thin, transparent paper. Then the details are cut out on the wrong side. The prepared fragments are placed on the background base and glued only when a successful compositional solution has already been drawn up in advance.

It is necessary to remember about the harmony of proportions, contrast and naturalness of combinations.

After the end of the practical work, the children are offered the game "fantasy": from randomly laid out pieces of onion peel, with the help of a teacher, the children compose and describe the resulting plot pictures. This develops imagination, imaginative thinking, a sense of empathy for the world around.

Samples of applications from onion peel: contour "Bell", semi-volumetric "Firebird", plot "Mushrooms.

Application sample of garlic peel.

Onion peel flowers

Theoretical part: a riddle, a fairy tale, a conversation about flowers, information about the technology of making flowers from onion peel.

Practical part: preparation of material - dry inflorescences of flowers and onion peel, production of flowers.

Materials and tools: onion peel, dry flower inflorescences, LBA glue, cloth, brush, scissors.

The teacher at the beginning of the lesson asks the children a riddle:

"Dressed up sisters greet guests all day, treat them with honey" (flowers), and tells the tale "How flowers appeared on earth" (according to Popov T.N.)

Ivan Tsarevich was returning from Baba Yaga, he reached a large river, but there was no bridge. He waved his handkerchief three times right side- a rainbow hung over the river, and he moved along it to the other side. He waved twice to the left side - the rainbow became a thin, thin bridge. Baba Yaga rushed after Ivan Tsarevich along this bridge, reached the middle, and take it and break off. The rainbow crumbled on both sides of the river into small fragments of flowers all over the world. After telling the fairy tale, the question is asked: - And you, what flowers do you know? There is a little conversation about flowers.

Since ancient times, flowers have occupied a strong place in Russian life: not a single celebration could do without them in Russia, we learn about this from folk legends and fairy tales.

Three thousand years ago, the gardens of Persian shahs were decorated with tulips. This flower is mentioned in the tales of the Thousand and One Nights.

In Scandinavia, a modest flower of spring and love is sung - the daisy, this "bride of the sun".

In ancient Greek myths, Apollo, the god of the sun, science and art, was dedicated to hyacinth - the "rain flower", which blooms after the first spring rains.

But the most ancient flower is called the lotus, which is considered sacred in India and China. Wreaths of myrtle flowers, violets, ivy, roses crowned the heads of emperors. From ancient Roman mythology, the goddess Flora came to us - the goddess of flowers, spring and youth.

And today we will learn how to make flowers ourselves!

For the manufacture of flowers from onion peel, it is necessary to prepare the material, while maintaining its natural qualities. To do this, you need to take good dry onions, cut off the lower part of them, slightly moisten the husk, pull the top and carefully remove it. For the stem, you can use the stems of dry inflorescences, cereals, seed pods of ornamental garden or marsh plants. Lubricate the top of the inflorescence with PVA glue and carefully string cups of husks on it. If possible, trim the edges of the petals with scissors. This is how a flower is made from a whole onion cup, or it can be made from individual parts of the petals and leaves.

With this method, the flower is formed by gluing individual petals made of onion peel according to a template: individual petals are glued to the upper basket of a dry inflorescence and assembled into the shape of a flower of your choice, for example, chamomile, bell. The leaves are also cut according to the pattern, formed on the stem and fixed with PVA glue.

Rose and peony. These flowers can be made from whole onion cups, which are formed on the inflorescence into a bud one to one. Several such cups are collected - for a rose 2-3, for a peony 5-6. The leaves are cut out according to the pattern and fixed on the stem with PVA glue.

Daisies and bluebells come in different colors and therefore they can be made from both onion and garlic husks.

The basis of chamomile and bluebell flowers is also a dry inflorescence, on which individual petals cut out according to a template are attached. These flowers can be made according to a pattern from individual petals or whole cut.
