I constantly follow young, promising guys. But you, I confess, overlooked. In my opinion, you did not stand out among your peers. And I am not alone in this opinion. Even for the head coach of your "youth team" Alexander Grishin, your bright game in the past year was a revelation. What do you think is the issue here?

Apparently, the time has come (smiles). Stronger physically, yet turned twenty. In addition, self-confidence came: the guys helped with their support, in the locker room before entering the field they said: “Today Kostyan is with us, which means there will be a goal, there will be a victory!”

What was your goal for the season?

I hoped at least a few times to come on as a substitute in the main team of the club. To be honest, I did not expect that in the very first match I would also be able to score.

Then, in Rostov, you emotionally celebrated a goal...

It was like my roof was blown off, I ran and screamed like crazy.

Then you were lucky to qualify in the Champions League against Bayern themselves. What impression did the current league winner make?

I will answer this way: this is a team from another planet. Ball control is amazing! I also made an important conclusion for myself: it is necessary to add in muscle mass. I receive the ball, Jerome Boateng is nearby. I, as it should be in such cases, put the body, and the opponent easily removes me, I fly away from Boateng like a kid.

Do you have idols?

The standard are the great Didier Drogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic - strikers with the highest performing skills. I try to watch matches with their participation.

What is your football goal?

The distant goal is to win the Golden Ball (smiles), and the nearest one is to play at the World Championships as part of the Russian national team.

Mundial in Moscow 2018 is not soon...
