Who is Bugaev, until recently, little was known to an ordinary football fan. Somehow, this 22-year-old football player quietly entered the big stage. So it seemed that it would be right to start getting to know him better.

“I was born in Moscow, on the Arbat,” Bugaev began the story. - In the community. Then they moved to "Sportivnaya", where they settled in a separate apartment. We have a big family: father Ivan Ivanovich, mother Valentina Nikolaevna, brothers: Sergey is two years older and Andrey is three years younger. And there is also a sister, Yulia, she is now 18.

Big family. Was it crowded in one room?

- We had two rooms in the communal apartment. And now there are four in a separate apartment. The place of residence predetermined the fact that he regularly began to go to Luzhniki. True, at first he was engaged in gymnastics - from the age of three. Also not far away, on Komsomolsky Prospekt. But then I got tired. At three competitions in a row, I was two points short of the first category. I thought: if I don’t know how to do anything, I need to tie it. And he abandoned it ... So the gymnastic career lasted only three years.

Then he studied at school, and as part of the yard team he regularly went to play in Luzhniki. We chased the ball on the "elastic band", and one day my coach suggested that we go to a serious team. On a good artificial field, the guys from the FSM were engaged. I agreed, of course.

- That is, you played all the time at the Luzhniki Stadium, didn’t you have to in the yards?

- Well, why not? Sometimes it happened there too. Finished playing in the yard not too long ago. Last time at the age of 19. On weekends, he regularly played ball with his neighbors.

– The yard is always full of other hobbies. Was it not tempting to take a different path?

Best of the day

- No never. I have training in the morning, then school, then training again. I barely had time to come home and do my homework. They didn't have enough time. Especially - to communicate with friends in the yard. As well as to try alcohol or smoke.

- Did you really study at school or did you go because you had to?

- I always had a solid three in any subject. Of course, there were some that I didn't like. For example, mathematics. Although physics, albeit a technical science, he studied with interest.

- Can you recall anything from physics offhand?

“To be honest, not anymore. However, Ohm's law remember, for example. If you strain, I will give a few more names. However, now it is no longer so important.

- When we were at school, we probably had privileges in physical education. Is not it?

“Of course I liked her. In fact, we had a sports class, that is, only football players. And no girls, of course. After all, he studied at school number 168 with a sports bias. All the FSMers are still studying there.

- In addition to football, did you do anything else in physical education?

- But how! They did everything that was supposed to be in the program. I liked almost all kinds of sports: I liked to play volleyball, and the same dodgeball.

- Did you pull up, say, a lot?

- 30 times - no problem. I don’t remember a personal record, because I always thought that I could pull myself up as much as I want. Haven't had any problems throwing yet. A grenade, say, when entering the institute, I threw it at 60 meters.

- What kind of institution?

- Malakhov physical education. Combining studies with sports, frankly, is not easy. There is no time at all. But I stop by sometimes, find out the schedule, get assignments, spin around whenever possible.

- Didn't football prevent you from attending the last school bell?

– At that moment, the World youth games. Although I didn’t get into the composition of our team, which won first place, I prepared on an equal footing with everyone else. And he passed the exams, unlike his classmates, in advance. Of course, I jumped into the "last call", but was only at the so-called official part. And it didn’t work out for a walk with everyone: if my memory serves me, the next day there was a game.

- A little later you got into the "Torpedo". How did it happen?

- After the FSM, I was invited to the doubles, like many guys born in 1981. We won the championship of Russia at our age, and I was recognized as the best defender. So gradually it went and went. He played for a double, sometimes he was involved in performances for the main team.

- Rumor has it that you are Petrenko's favorite, who now coaches the first team, and then worked with understudies?

- In my opinion, Sergei Anatolyevich does not have such. For him, everyone is equal. Although we can say that it was he who finally dragged me into the main team. But even under Shevchenko, I regularly trained with the base. In fact, he played very little. But I got into the application.

- At that time, the famous match against Saturn (1:4) took place, when Shevchenko put up many understudies, and then criticized the golden youth. Didn't you think that after that game they would give up on you in Torpedo?

- The main thing is that I did not put it on myself. In addition, there was no time: Valery Yurievich Petrakov offered to go with him to Tomsk. Over the previous two years of playing time, I had a little, so I had to compensate, and I agreed. In "Tom", where I spent the season, the fans recognized me as the best defender. In the first division, I gained experience, strength and match practice was in abundance. Although football in the second tier is very different from the Premier League. They come to the fore volitional qualities. The game in the first division can be described as "hit-and-run".

- Rumor has it that you have a powerful stroke. It's true?

- There is such a thing. Whenever possible, I try to include this weapon of mine, but so far, at least in Torpedo, this has not brought results.

- How can it bring results if you hardly use it. Free-kicks, for example, why don't you shoot?

- They're not allowed. I'm kidding, of course. With us, who beat the "standards" is determined by the coach. I work out free throws in training, it’s just that in the game I still can’t properly demonstrate my achievements. Luck is probably not enough.

- When you were called to the national team, did your knees shake?

Why should they have been shaking? In the team, no doubt, all the strongest are gathered. But he felt only some anxiety.

- I bet - a couple of months ago you could not even think that you would be in the main national team?

There were dreams, of course. I tried to make them come true, but still the invitation was unexpected. Such a chance presented itself to me! But it's too early to say about the match against Austria whether I used it or not.

- Yartsev said after the game with the Austrians that Bugaev has every reason to gain a foothold in the national team. Do you think this is a hint?

Everyone has that chance. I will prove that Yartsev was not mistaken. Although, if I don’t get to Portugal, I won’t be upset. On the contrary, there will be an extra reason to work on yourself. After all, the national team does not end after the European Championship. I'm 22 and there's still time. Soon, by the way, the qualifying tournament of the World Cup ...

- If you still get into the application for the Euro, will that be enough to start with?

Of course, you always want more. And I don’t mind being in Portugal not as a tourist, but to go out on the field.

- Aren't you afraid, if they entrust a place in the composition, screw up and get blacklisted?

“If you think about it, it will certainly happen.” I drive such thoughts away from me. The recipe is really simple: do your job conscientiously. The situation in the team is normal. Although I have nothing to compare with, because I am a new person, I don’t know how it was before. Everyone is preparing for the European Championship in a good mood.

Alexey Bugaev is the former Russian football player, who is most remembered for playing for Torpedo and Tom. Today he is 35 years old - he ended his career quite early. But when he was still playing, he played as a central defender.

Carier start

Alexey Bugaev was born on August 25, 1981 in Moscow, where he began to play football, as a result of which he ended up in the academy of the capital's Torpedo. It was there that he trained all his childhood, as a teenager he played for youth squads of various age categories, and in 1999, when he was eighteen years old, the football player signed a professional contract with the club. Alexey Bugaev, however, was not a great talent, so for a long time he played for the double of the club - he could only make his debut for the main team in 2001. He played two matches, after which he was loaned to Tom.

Rent in "Tom"

Bugaev spent the remaining half of the season at Tom, playing only six matches, but in 2002 he fully revealed himself. Aleksey Bugaev is a football player who performed best in this club, and it was then that it became clear that he still had certain abilities. In the 2002 season, he was a base player, played 30 matches for Tom, so Alexei's home club was interested in bringing him back.

Return from loan

Alexey Bugaev is a football player whose photographs began to appear in various sports publications in Russia. An increased pressure began to be exerted on him, which came along with increased attention, but this did not prevent him from having a successful season at Torpedo, entering the field 24 times and even scoring two goals. The next season, he played a little less - only 20 matches, and then it became clear that even with all the abilities young player he did not fit the torpedoes. Therefore, in 2005, he moved to another Moscow club, Lokomotiv.

Unsuccessful period in Lokomotiv

However, Alexei Bugaev, whose biography did not revolve exclusively around Torpedo and Tom, managed to play for other clubs, one of which was Lokomotiv. But it can hardly be said that this was a successful period - for the whole year the football player appeared on the field only 13 times, so by the end of the season he was already looking for options to continue his career further. And Tom's offer turned out to be the most attractive - after all, it was the club in which the talent of the defender was revealed to the greatest extent.

Return to Tom

So, in 2006, the “prodigal son” Alexei Bugaev returned to Tom. The football player immediately found himself at the base and began to show the previous game quite high level corresponding to the level of the club. In the first year, he entered the field 28 times, scoring one goal, and in 2007 he played twenty matches. The 2008 season turned out to be the least successful - during it Bugaev entered the field in only 9 matches, and after that his cooperation with Tom came to an end. The footballer's career, instead of going uphill, rolled down, but Krasnodar agreed to take him under its wing for two years.

Last club

In 2009, Bugaev played only 14 matches for new club, with whom he signed a contract, and in 2010 appeared on the field even less often - in total for two seasons he played only 20 matches for the club. When his contract with Krasnodar came to an end, Bugaev, who at that time was only 30 years old, decided that he would end his career as a professional football player.

Performances for the national team

If you look at Bugaev's career, it may seem that she was not particularly successful. However, there was a period when he was even called up to the Russian national team - an honor that not all football players are awarded. In 2003, Alexey played one match for the Russian Olympic team, but the following year he was promoted and was called up to the main team. In May 2004, Bugaev made his debut for national team in a friendly match against Austria. And immediately after that, a rather unexpected decision followed - the coach included Bugaev, who at that time was on the rise in Torpedo, but who had no international experience at all, in the final application for the 2004 European Championship. Moreover, in two out of three matches of a major tournament, Alexei appeared on the field - in fights against the national teams of Portugal and Greece. Then Alexei played three more matches for the national team within qualifying tournament to the 2008 World Championship, but did not stay in the national team anymore.

In February 2005 he played in last match for the national team - it was a friendly match with the Italian team, which the Russians lost with a score of 0:2. Since then, Bugaev has not been called up to the national team.

If we talk about Bugaev's career, then there is an opinion that his talent was quite large, but he could not fully reveal it. And the reason for this was the problems with discipline caused by the constant use of alcohol. This led to the fact that Alexei could disappear for a week and not appear at training, which resulted in a far from the most brilliant career.
