“This year the regional stage of the oldest children's hockey tournament Russia "Golden Puck" gathered more than three thousand participants from all regions of the Belgorod region. Why so many? The fact is that we have changed the structure of the draw. The first stage is municipal. Schools within each district play there. We have 21 of them plus Belgorod. Prokhorovsky district, for example, declared 44 teams, and in others, 10-12 teams were recruited.

– This year, we started linking districts to ice arenas. The Ice Hockey Federation of the Belgorod Region with the sports committee decided that the districts would interact with each other and the municipal stage would be held at indoor arenas. - Four years ago, we created a regional hockey federation with the task of developing a hockey vertical - "Golden Puck", Youth Sports School, "youth team". In the first "Golden Puck" in 2011 about any municipal stage there was no question, because they did everything in a short time.
In 2012, the federation and the authorities got the situation out of control a little - and the level of organization of the Golden Puck tournament and the preparation of the competition fell somewhat. Then all resources were redirected to the creation in Belgorod youth team, so the approach to organizing the Golden Puck tournament was different. And last season, Alexander Pashkov became the head of the federation, and a new task was to reach a new level in the organization children's hockey. Last year, the winners and best players of the matches were presented with tablets and figurines. This season, a different approach - the guys receive certificates for the purchase of sports shop for a good amount and best players by nominations - by tablet. About MHL
– Is there a replenishment for hockey club"Belgorod", playing in the championship of the youth league (MHL), from the local "Golden Puck"?
- Older children still have two or three years to grow before that. There are players who can reach the youth team after a while. For gold puckers and children from the Youth Sports School, MHL hockey players are professionals. They already have contracts and a full-fledged championship. Completely different level. This year, HC "Belgorod" played in the competitions of the Central Federal District among hockey players born in 1999-2001. That is, some of the gold puckers can play there next season. In general, in our sports school, there is only one guy on the way to the youth team. The bad thing is that there are few teams and tournaments in the Center region, there is nowhere for the guys to grow up there. And only this year, the updated ICCC "Center" began to hold tournaments. We hope that the skill of their participants will grow.
But in order for children to grow up, they need to play, and we have about 15 official matches during the season, which is very little. And so it is throughout the Black Earth region. Many are content with commercial tournaments.
- Is it that bad?
- Children finish with hockey or go after sports schools to amateur teams for one reason - there is no prospect. They understand that there is nowhere else to play. Only teams from Tambov, Bryansk, Belgorod and Lipetsk remained in the center of Russia. But only in Voronezh is there a full-fledged club with a structure from the youngest set of guys to the Major League. There are 200 people per set.
– And how are we?
- And if we have 40-50 people, then it's good. Coaches go to schools, children are collected. A year later, 20-25 people remain. No one to choose from main team areas.

- What are you doing to give young people more match practice?
- Organized the championship of the region. We gathered teams born in 2005-2006 - we had nine teams this year. Children start playing at the age of ten, they will enter the Russian championship only in two years. There are teams that play in parallel in the Voronezh region, that is, this season they have 50-60 official matches. They have room to grow, they play with equal and strong opponents.
What about other ages?
- The others are even worse.
- Maybe it is worth launching some kind of promotion to attract guys to hockey?
- We have ideas, but for now I will not give out secrets about what the federation has conceived to support the Youth League and children's hockey. The idea was born at one of the meetings. Plus thanks to the TV series "Youth". When its first season passed, hundreds of 15-16-year-old guys called to Orange Ice asking how to sign up for hockey. But it's too late at that age. For them there is amateur leagues, Night hockey league. Welcome there.

A couple of years ago, I did not even think that I would become an avid gardener, - Alexander pats the mane of the restless husky dog. - And then it dragged on - both the beds and the construction of the house.

Alexander and his wife Elena, her sister and husband initially rented a plot. And then they bought it. The house is small but decent. The bath is roomy. How many hockey players from one farm club in 10 years can play in teams of masters at the actual highest level? The “useful way out” of those who in the 1999/2000 season played in the first league for Tractor-2, Salavat Yulaev-2, Magnitogorsk Metallurg-2, a decade later amounted to 4-5 people. Yaroslavl, Togliatti and "Tseskovsky" farms gave 12-13 hockey players. But from the Omsk "Avangard-VDV" sample-2000 now 15 people are involved in the KHL! This is not counting those who 10 years ago were sent from the "base" for a set of conditions. Sazonov also played in such a unique team under the leadership of Dmitry Bondarev.
From my year of birth, there was only me and even Kagaikin, who is now “lost”. The rest of the guys are born in 1981-1983. The main component of the current hockey players KHL- since those years.
