Pavel Baranov: “I decided to live life to the fullest and enjoy every day of it.” Baranov, Pavel Ivanovich Pavel Baranov commentator biography

(1928 )

Biography

“It was the most difficult work in all thirty-two years of my restoration activity,” says Pavel Ivanovich. “Each operation was difficult for me. The icon simply did not let me rest, did not let me go. how I select a solvent or soil composition.

More than seventy photographs make up documentation on the restoration of the altar icon. This unique material has not yet been fully published. There is no patent for the translation technique, just as there is no patent for many unique developments owned by the restorer. We are not even sure that the name of the restorer is on the museum card. The only official sign of attention is the diploma awarded to the restorer Baranov by the Academy of Arts. It cannot be said that the masters completely ignored. The press wrote about him, especially after the restoration of Kustodiev's Russian Venus, on the back of which was the second painting. Until the scientific publication of the enormous restoration heritage of P.I. Baranov is carried out, we will not be able to appreciate the full significance of this work for the development of the national restoration school. Behind Pavel Ivanovich is already a huge experience. Paintings by Repin, Savrasov, Tropinin, Zhukovsky, Turzhansky, Aivazovsky passed through his hands. A well-illustrated catalog is needed, which would be equally interesting for specialists involved in the restoration of cultural monuments, and for a wide range of art lovers, artists, and collectors.

Three Graces

Once, a canvas by an unknown artist from the early 17th century “Three Graces” was brought from the Poltava Museum for restoration. It could not be attributed to the number of complex restoration works, and therefore they gave the picture to one of the young employees. He, as expected, removed several layers of the recording and opened the author's painting. And it turned out to be someone's inept hand repaired a breakthrough and a strong displacement of the pattern. No matter how hard the restorer tried, they could not bring the fragments together. The experience and skill of Baranov came to the rescue. He began to stretch one part of the canvas, and, on the contrary, “seated” the other. In order to stretch part of the canvas, strips of wet paper must be glued to its edges at one end, and attached to the stretcher with the other. The paper will dry, shrink, and the canvas will stretch. For shrinkage, wet paper is glued with special glue to the entire piece of the canvas. As it dries, the canvas will shrink. Alexey Alekseevich Fedorov taught many secrets, taught him to understand the picture on which work was carried out.

Russian Venus

During the flooding of the Gorky Art Museum, heating pipes burst, hot water flows seriously damaged the famous "Russian Venus", written in 1925-1926 by Boris Mikhailovich Kustodiev. The artist did not have a finished canvas for "Russian Venus". He took his own painting "On the Terrace" and wrote on its reverse side. On one canvas were two paintings by this famous artist. The canvas fell into the hands of Pavel Ivanovich Baranov. He eliminated smudges mechanically and with the help of solvents. A more serious problem, the loss of the paint layer, was solved by applying the retouching method. A very complex, painstaking and time-consuming method. He built a special stretcher in such a way that the second side of the canvas with the painting “On the Terrace” became available to the audience, on which Boris Mikhailovich depicted his family in 1906.

On the broadcasting of the combats of the national football championship. "PB-Online" decided to present the voices of the Belarusian football. First on the list is . In a conversation, he gladly admitted that he did not understand football, hinted that it was too early to put an end to the story of the transition to NTV-Plus and said that he was not at all interested in running through the forest with his mother's mop, posing as Gandalf.

"One of the blanks for the match lay down for two years - never used it"

Vasily Utkin believes that today the commentator does not have to prepare for the match, more important is the author's interpretation of the game. Do you agree?

Everything that Vasily says to the public carries an element of provocation. Believe me, if an NTV-Plus employee approaches the match unprepared, Utkin can easily take him off the air for six months.

I agree on one thing: you can’t prepare on the day of the match. Comparison with athletes is fully justified here. Well, a football player will not play up a cross of 5 or 10 kilometers before the game - he simply will not be able to enter the field. If a commentator on the day of the game studies the applications of teams or other elementary things, he should be removed from the air. He will lose his sense of freshness. For example, depending on the match, I have enough time to prepare from half an hour to an hour.

The same Vasily Utkin is preparing before an important duel, do not hesitate, be healthy. When it comes to Grand Classico, he will definitely look at everything in the world so as not to get into a mess. And don't forget, Utkin is the superstar of the commentary shop. What is allowed to Jupiter is not allowed to the bull. So the commentator should be fully armed.

Are you serious about reporting?

Depends on the game. I spend much less time on an English Premier League match than on a Champions League match between the Greek and French teams. About "Man City", for example, I can tell a lot just because I worked a large number of matches with the participation of this team. For such broadcasts, only the mood is important.

What does it mean to "prepare for the match"?

Half an hour before the game, I get lineups, quickly figure out who and in what position will enter the field. I think it is important to announce at the beginning of the broadcast what changes the teams have made and what caused them. Checking the lists of injured and suspended. It's an ironclad rule for the Premier League to listen to pre-match comments from coaches. Mentors are no longer encrypted and tell a lot of interesting things. You can find out why Di Matteo put Drogba on the bench, and the inactive Torres is back at the start. All this information goes at the beginning of the report, and then you comment on the course of the game.

Saving blanks in case of a boring match?

Certainly. For example, I still have a blank about Gary Neville. He has already finished his career, but I never used it. She lay for two years. In one match, Gary Neville, after the whistle of the referee in his hearts, hit the ball and hit a woman in the stands in the face, she ran away from the stadium in tears. Neville later tracked her down, apologized and gave her flowers. Of my blanks on the air, I use at best twenty percent. I take this calmly: if they don’t come in handy today, then tomorrow. Or, as with Neville, never at all.

With the participation of giants, boring matches rarely happen. Even if there are no dangerous moments, goals scored, there is a lot of other interesting things. How clubs build defense, how they move around the field, why Nani's game is not going well. I can't imagine how boring the match between Real Madrid and Barca can be. Well, that's bad plays Ronaldo. So it's already interesting! Puyol, Pique, Alves and Abidal are chasing the “squares”, and Ronaldo is rushing between them, freaking out. I'm not bored!

BTRC signed an agreement with the BFF for broadcasting the Belarusian championship. Ready to comment on the national championship?

Why not? We missed him. This does not mean that we rejoice in the conflict between the federation and STV. I enjoyed watching Belarusian football on another "button". I will not criticize, as it is now fashionable, the quality of the show. Most importantly, he was.

From a commentator's point of view, a big plus is that we will work from the stadiums. It's a completely different feeling of football.

Closely followed the championship of Belarus?

I watched the broadcasts, read the press, found out the results, the news. But from experience I will say that this is not enough for full-fledged work at the match. In order for us, commentators of the BTRC, to again roll into the championship of Belarus, we need at least a month or two to boil in this cauldron. Although the viewer may not notice the difference. For objective reasons, I know English Premier League better than the Belarusian championship. I followed the national championship as a spectator, not as a professional.

Do you have football friends?

There are few acquaintances among the players. Sometimes I communicate with Dynamo Minsk in an informal setting. Good guys. But they don't have much time, and neither do I. It's more interesting to meet with coaches, former players- thinking people. You can discuss the nuances of the game with them, hear a useful opinion.

Do such acquaintances complicate the commentary? You need to think a hundred times before criticizing one of the players ...

If a footballer plays really badly, it cannot be said that he plays well.

Let's change the condition. If you see that Nani is underperforming, you will say so in plain text. And in a similar situation with a Belarusian in the lead role, perhaps smooth the corners. So?

Regardless of the geography of the championship, I try not to use phrases like "played mediocre" in relation to the players, I say something like this: "today he did not have a match." Some of the viewers probably like it when they cut the truth: it's time to drive Ferdinand out of Manchester United. But to equal Alex Ferguson, who puts Ferdinand in starting lineup, just stupid. Therefore, I avoid categorical assessments. I respect any work, including football players.

The only thing I don't like is when a person deliberately doesn't try. He may make mistakes, but he must try. A classic example is our youth team. How much dirt was poured on her for a weak game? The Swiss lost without question - because they were weaker. But they fought, and that's enough to respect them. It can be noted that something needs to be changed, but to say that they do not know how to play is simply ugly. And then we almost beat the Spaniards, and went to the Olympics. I do not think that we will repeat such a result soon.

Will we tell the children about the Kondratieff "youth team" or are there options?

Maybe there is. Who knows?

"I officially declare: in football I do not understand sya"

Do you read forums?

Not really. This period has long passed. Now there is a certain circle of people whose opinion is really important to me. Taking advantage of the convenience of anonymity and impunity, people write on the Internet what they would never say in person.

Sometimes, of course, I read the news, and at the same time the comments on it. But after the reports, I don’t go online to quickly find out what they wrote about me. However, I have friends who like to look through the forums. Therefore, if someone is very worried that his criticism will reach the addressee, let him calm down - they will definitely pass it on to me.

On forums, on other Internet sites, fans write that "our commentators do not understand football and in general ..." Is it a shame?

To health! As my friend Eduard Dubovsky says, you have to agree with people in such cases. So I officially declare: I don’t understand football.

People think you are arrogant. Refute this opinion?

Don't even know. I have a rather specific gait, waddling. And if a person does not know me, he will probably think: the greyhound guy is coming.

And in general - I have thoughts, I share them. If someone thinks that I consider TV viewers to be idiots, this is absolutely not true. There are enough people smarter than me around. And when they say that the commentator imposes his point of view and teaches the viewer - this is a delusion. He's just expressing his opinion. It may not be correct. I'm always ready to admit it, if anything.

Do you give any importance to polls to determine the best commentator?

The results of such surveys are always a big convention. But thanks to all the fans who vote for me.

Isn’t it interesting at all what place the audience assigns to you ?!

About a year ago, fans noted the serious progress of Pavel Baranov, began to praise ...

I suspect this happened after the Moscow story with NTV-Plus. I did a very good job at the World Cup in South Africa, for which I was criticized a lot. But when I was invited to NTV-Plus, it turned out that my level had grown significantly.

Don't you think so yourself?

Obviously I comment better now than I did a couple of years ago. But when compared with 2010, the progress is not so noticeable. I remembered the World Cup in South Africa, because it was the first major tournament that I worked on consistently high level. It used to be like this: two reports are good, and the third is weak.

How can you tell a good report from a bad one?

That is, the viewer may not even notice?

I guess, yes.

"Yuri Rozanov let slip: Baranov was offered a job at NTV-Plus without any selection, but he didn't even call"

Why didn't you go to Moscow? Not breathtaking from the opportunity to try yourself in the big leagues?

Until I went, let's say. My work was highly appreciated, six months after the competition, I found out that out of 750 people, I was the only one who got all fives. Utkin then joked: "If your work fell into my hands, out of principle I would put a four - so as not to ask."

At the final stage of the selection (only 20 people remained), I honestly told at the interview that I was participating in the competition out of sports interest. I could hardly imagine that I would have to pack my things and leave Minsk.

I was not allowed to the TV debates of the professionals. Yuri Rozanov said that we would have torn everyone there on one skill, but they needed the effect of a beginner for a television show. However, an offer was made to me that was attractive financially and creatively.

At NTV-Plus, they immediately warned that they were taking on a specific area of \u200b\u200bwork - KHL-TV. It is almost impossible to break into the elite - all the places there have already been staked out. I think it's ok. They don’t go to a foreign monastery with their own charter.

Just then, between NTV-Plus and some other federal company, there was a struggle for the rights to show KHL matches, of course, people have not yet been recruited into the state. During this pause, it became known that in Minsk they had given the go-ahead for the production of my program, which I had been thinking about since 2009. I considered the options and decided to stay in Minsk.

You're not married... So, you don't keep anything in Minsk?

Well, yes. For most people, the answer is obvious: go! But everything is not so simple. Here I will have the European Championship, the Olympics, and most importantly - a new program "Power Factor". On the other hand, he maintained excellent relations with the guys from NTV-Plus. And with Utkin we have an agreement of intent: as soon as something becomes clear ...

Are you losing contact with Moscow?

Not that we call each other and interfere with life, but the relationship remained excellent - both professional and human. The only moment: Rozanov mentioned that Baranov was offered a job without any selection, but he did not even call. Guchik told me about this, a young guy who made his way through the competition on KHL-TV. And I really didn’t call, because I was told to communicate with Utkin and Chukovsky. Dial their numbers. I think we will resolve this issue. We will definitely meet with Yuri Albertovich in London and talk.

"One of the newspapers wrote that I was fulfilling the order of the authorities"

Are Russian commentators really stronger than Belarusian ones, or did our fans come up with this for themselves?

Completely disagree. There are bright personalities in Russia, but there are not many of them - let's call them Top 5. They are really more capable, more talented than the rest, they think brighter. But Belarusians are not weaker than those who are further in line. I will say that during the 2010 World Cup, when there was a choice between Belarusian and Russian commentators, I chose ours. During Olympic Games in Vancouver, the couple Shibeko - Tsvechkovsky worked out the match Russia - Slovakia much better than their Russian counterparts from Eurosport.

In Russia, just last year, there were a number of scandals related to commentators. Guberniev accidentally in live he spoke impartially about Malafeev, Utkin deliberately sent Goncharenko to hell in him, Savin played the match "Milan" - "Cesena" so that he was excommunicated from the air almost for life without the right to amnesty. Maybe we also lack similar elements of the show?

Scandal and we can arise out of the blue. On the youth championship In Europe, in the match between the national teams of Belarus and Spain, I rather sharply expressed my position: people who pour mud on their team, which plays poorly, but at the same time beats on the field, are not fans. You can forgive everything except the lack of will and dedication. After that, I was accused of arrogance, showing off and much more. And one of the newspapers even wrote that I was fulfilling the order of the authorities.

Scandals alone won't get you far. Previously, in my opinion, our commentators really did not have the courage to express their point of view, but today the situation is slowly improving. Promotion, PR… Yes, maybe we don't have enough of that.

Only this is not enough and everything Belarusian football. When BATE qualified for the Champions League, the NTV-Plus crew came to film the story about the Borisovites. It was a holiday for BATE, and Muscovites filmed how football shorts are dried on ropes. Such a provincial twist.

"To get involved in atomic weapons is more informative than to pretend to be Gandalf"

Today we talked with a very promising Russian athlete Pavel Baranov, who, alas, stopped performing. Actually, we tried to find out the reasons for this.

GENERATION IRON RU: Pavel, you started your competitive career in 2014-2015 with great dignity. What is the reason for such a break?

PAVEL BARANOV: The break was in 2016. This year I put my health in order, improved my financial situation, studied and developed, tried to devote as much time as possible to self-improvement in several areas. The whole 2017 was dedicated to the preparation for the competition and ended with two starts - EVLS Prague Showdown in the Czech Republic and NPC Holiday Classic in Florida.

Now there is no break, I decided to finally complete the competitive activity.

GI RU: Are you going to perform in the near future and if so, where?

P.B.: No, I really hope that such a thought never crosses my mind again. Competitive activity is too destructive (especially in my case) and requires many sacrifices and resources.

For myself, I unequivocally decided that I no longer want to spend my life on this “Groundhog Day”, which implies only constant investment in my physical form, which, by and large, is of no use to anyone and does not give anything.

I decided to live life to the fullest and enjoy every day of it, realizing my wildest dreams and aspirations. And this is incompatible with competitive bodybuilding.

GI RU: Why do you have so many photos from Florida on Instagram?

P.B.: And not only from Florida. I sat in Moscow for 5 years and worked without holidays from 2012 to 2017. I owe this to competitive bodybuilding.

Over the past year, I managed to leave the country 6 times, and each of these trips was full of new impressions, vivid emotions, warm memories. So yes, I enjoyed sharing all these emotions with my subscribers. I wanted them to share with me the joy and the buzz that I managed to discover for myself.

GI RU: You performed in the USA. Tell us, what impression did the experience of performing in America leave on you?

P.B.: Impressions are only positive. If I wanted to continue competing, I would only do it in the USA. The organization of events, the attitude towards athletes, the conditions for participation and development prospects are much better there than in our country and in Europe.

After the division of the IFBB into two parts, the NPC Federation (IFBB PRO) has definitely become the leader, the most prestigious and in demand for athletes. And this is no accident.

Sports commentator of Belteleradiocompany Pavel Baranov for many fans is associated exclusively with football. Despite this, Pavel himself has long commented on boxing, wrestling, weightlifting and has been making a video magazine for three years strength factor” about martial arts and power extreme, which airs on the Belarus-5 TV channel. This is the topic of our discussion.

- Pavel, doesn't it bother you that for many you remain primarily a football commentator?

In fact, the way it is, but as for whom. For many, the situation has changed in recent years. For several years now, in addition to football players, I have also been working with those involved in martial arts, power types sports. Once our bodybuilders asked why I missed their Belarus Cup. He said that he worked at the national championship match. For them, I am better known as a commentator who is engaged in power sports.

- The answer to the question why you took up the project "Power Factor" probably lies on the surface?

Yes, I have had a love for martial arts since childhood. At first he was engaged in judo, later - Muay Thai, a little boxing. This topic is very close to me. I lived in the Uruchcha microdistrict, and my school had a judo section, a branch sports club"Pennant". This sport was to my eldest brother's liking, for this reason I decided that judo is cool! There were enough of my friends in the section, but not all of them were stuck for a long time. I recently saw how it works with young children Igor Makarov, our illustrious Olympic champion. Everything for children is served through the game. This is how the rest of our young coaches work. The kids love it. Otherwise, they would simply give up classes in the section. We didn't have any games. We were immediately thrown into work, there were demands, pressure. I liked it, but after a few years I got tired of training, and no matter how the coach encouraged me, I gave up judo. I was about 16 then. And now, when I work at judo competitions, I just see the tatami, I feel like I'm returning home. If there were no martial arts in my life, if I did not love those who are engaged in this business, there would be no our program.

By the way, how did you choose the name?

They didn't come to him right away. After all, it’s still not easy to come up with a name that would be well remembered and become a brand. This matter must be approached responsibly. Take the easy way and tritely call the project "Power Herald" or some kind of "Knockdown"? This is not for me! I wanted to make it possible to combine different kinds sports on one power theme. It seems to me that we succeeded. At one time, the program "Strongman" was released Vladimir Dovzhenko. In the early 1990s, when people were massively interested in bodybuilding, she looked. And certain traditions this program needed to be picked up. Only we did not stop at one bodybuilding, but went further. For example, we began to create ratings of hockey fights, when tough guys fight among themselves on the ice, we were the first in our country to talk about American football on television. We plan to raise the topic of the importance of power martial arts in game types sports. After all, strength training, no doubt, is present in any contact sport.

- Always wondered what kind of red pipes are you shooting the program against?

This is my idea - the style of "industrial". We wanted to make such an industrial-brutal project. I like this topic. When you see some models of old steam locomotives in the museum, you immediately notice that they are superior to many modern diesel locomotives, and you can only imagine what power was hidden in such a machine. When such a mechanism works, it cannot fail to impress. This happened even with some of the then composers who stood at the origins of the musical direction "industrial" and found in the rhythmic noise of machines something that had never been in nature before. The Industrial Revolution created a huge layer of culture. I've been interested in this topic since the 90s. So I decided to make the program in this way. It turned out stylish. We will continue to follow this. Including thanks to the unusual design, the “Power Factor” was noticed both in Ukraine and in Russia. Even employees of our embassies in foreign countries watch it.

- Does the 26-minute running time of the program justify itself?

Quite. For a video magazine, this is the best option. After all, for example, it would be difficult to saturate a 40-minute program with material. It needs a big team to work on it. And most importantly, the viewer will get tired of watching such a long program. The last story will not be as impressive as the first. The second part of the program with a dynamic presentation of material from 5-7 stories simply will not be remembered.

How many people are working on the video magazine?

Approximately 7 people cook it all the time. But we are often asked to join the project from outside. People want to be related to him. I say, "OK, just please, show yourself."

- Do you agree that our wrestlers, Thai boxers, unlike football players, lack attention and promotion?

I agree with this. I, as the author of The Force Factor, have my own selfish interest in the fact that they are not in demand. I'll explain now. This situation allows us to choose who to talk to, not them. I sincerely sympathize with those who work with football players and hockey players. They are very slow to make contact. In my field, it's the other way around. I am literally bombarded by people who want to be filmed about them. We make the choice. But at the same time, we treat our heroes with respect. Take the same wrestlers. They, in order to receive the title of Honored Masters of Sports, need to win the World Championship. This is a very difficult task, almost a heroic deed. And our heroes need to be appreciated, loved, worked with them, but at the same time hope that the attention from journalists will not spoil them.

- And which of our talented athletes was promoted by your project?

- Alexandra Kuraka- one of the strongest Belarusian athletes in power extreme sports. Except us, at first no one was interested in them at all. For a large audience, they were the first to talk about Alexei Shabunya, a very famous athlete among bodybuilders. In the same 2012, Vitaly Gurkov, multiple world champion in Thai boxing, definitely was not as famous as it is now. Vitaly is generally an interesting, diligent guy. We have a great relationship with him.

- And which interview within the framework of your TV project was a surprise for you, a real journalistic luck?

Conversation with the strongest man in the world Lithuanian strongman Zydrunas Savickas, with which we plan to shoot a full-fledged portrait scene. Interview with Mikhail Mamiyashvili - Olympic champion Seoul by Greco-Roman wrestling. At the same time, he is unknown to a wide audience, but a very influential person in the fight. I also spoke with Brendan Slay- Olympic champion in freestyle wrestling, coach of the US team. There were enough significant personalities with interesting thoughts. Categorically, by the way, no one refused us.

- In the program, you tend to start from the context. Despite this, a conversation with Wladimir Klitschko, the best heavyweight boxer in the world weight category, could decorate the project?

Undoubtedly. At the Athens Olympics, I managed to work on the air with his brother Vitaly. At that time in boxing, he occupied the same positions as Vladimir occupies today. He was a superstar absolute champion peace. It is actually possible to communicate with legendary personalities. You just need to help certain connections and God was on your side. There are those in our bodybuilding federation leadership who are familiar with Arnold Schwarzenegger. He comes to international competitions and you can also try to reach it.

- Your project is already three years old. Many transfers and this term do not maintain.

In the first two seasons, a lot of energy had to be spent not only on creativity and the implementation of ideas, but on things that should not be of interest to a wide audience. I realized that it is possible to realize everything planned only when every person in the team is a professional, disciplined and responsible. And you will be very lucky if you work with such people. I always tell young people that television is, of course, creativity, but it is primarily production. We also make a product. As for the new season, we will slightly change the design, the studio, introduce new headings, add humor, once a month we will focus on children's sports. Considering that the pre-Olympic season is underway, you need to focus on Olympic sports sports: weightlifting, martial arts, shot put. Perhaps we will invite beautiful girls, guests. We will pay more attention to martial arts.

The season will start in September. We have already planned programs. They will be aired on Fridays on Belarus-5 TV channel. Time - evening, but it will depend on the live broadcasts on our channel. See you at Power Factor!
