Rosatom Olympics results. Branch Physics and Mathematics Olympiad “Rosatom. Preparation for the Olympics

On December 22, the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI decided to extend the remote qualifying rounds of all Olympiads for schoolchildren in grades 7-11 until January 20, 2018. The decision was made by the Organizing Committee due to the large number of requests from participants.

Remote qualifying rounds of the Physics and Mathematics Olympiad for schoolchildren "Rosatom" in mathematics and physics and the Engineering Olympiad for schoolchildren allow those children who do not have the opportunity to attend full-time venues to take part in the Olympiads. For residents of cities where MEPhI branches are located, full-time and correspondence tours of the Olympiads are available at the same time.

The final stages are scheduled for February-March 2018. The finals of the Olympiads in the CIS countries will be held in person in February 2018.

For reference:

The National Research Nuclear University MEPhI has been holding Olympiads for schoolchildren in grades 7-11 for many years. The Olympiads are aimed at identifying gifted students who are focused on engineering and technical specialties, capable of technical creativity and innovative thinking, and who are interested in nuclear energy and high technologies. Olympiads for schoolchildren of NRNU MEPhI are included in the list of Olympiads approved by the Minister of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, enabling the best schoolchildren of the country to receive special rights when entering the leading universities of the Russian Federation. The results of the Engineering Olympiad for schoolchildren are taken into account when forming the target enrollment to the universities of the Russian Federation that provide training in the interests of the Rosenergoatom Concern. Most of the winners of the Olympiads become students of nuclear specialties at MEPhI or other leading technical universities in the country.

A distinctive feature of the Olympiads for NRNU MEPhI schoolchildren is their holding in almost all nuclear cities of the country. Last year, more than 25,000 schoolchildren from all regions of the country took part in the Olympiads. The final rounds were held in person at 38 venues, including Sarov, Obninsk, Lesnoy, Novovoronezh, Volgodonsk, Balakovo, Zarechny, Glazov, Seversk, Kovrov, Dimitrovgrad, Ozersk, Trekhgorny, Snezhinsk, Kurchatov and many other cities where facilities are located nuclear industry.

Over the past few years, the Olympiads for schoolchildren of NRNU MEPhI have crossed the borders of our country and are held in a number of countries of the former USSR, causing great interest among schoolchildren. This is connected both with the opportunity to compare the level of education in these countries with the best Russian examples, and with the possibility of obtaining quotas for education in Russian universities at the expense of the federal budget of the Russian Federation. Currently, more than a thousand foreign students from the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Armenia and Belarus are participating in the NRNU MEPhI Olympiads. Over the past three years, the Branch Physics and Mathematics Olympiad for schoolchildren "Rosatom" and Engineering Olympiad schoolchildren are included in the List international olympiads and has the right to recommend the winners and prize-winners of foreigners to receive the specified quotas. In the 2016-2017 academic year, the Olympiads for schoolchildren of NRNU MEPhI allowed more than 30 foreign students from Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, and Kazakhstan to receive quotas for studying at the leading universities of the Russian Federation.
