The main activities of the tourism organization. Mass sports and tourist events. Venue and time

The purposeful development of tourism and the improvement of tourism activities are also carried out through international tourism activities. These include tourism exchanges, tourism exhibitions and tourism trade fairs. These are the International Tourism Exchange in Berlin (ITB), the World Tourism Market in London, the International Tourism Fair in Madrid (FITUR), the Leipzig Travel Fair.

The main events held by international tourism organizations are scientific congresses and symposiums, assemblies, forums, practical conferences, meetings and seminars, thematic campaigns, decades, days, target projects.

The World Tourism Organization holds its General Assemblies once every two years. At the assemblies, the budget and program of the organization's activities are approved, topical issues of the development of the tourism industry are discussed.

The WTO organizes, convenes and conducts international conferences. An important role in regulating tourism was played by the World Conference on Tourism in Manila (1980), the World Conference on Tourism in Acapulco (1982), the Inter-Parliamentary Conference on Tourism in The Hague (1989), which adopted the Hague Declaration on Tourism, and others. conferences, forums and meetings.

The WTO has prepared and is implementing two major projects: the Silk Road (since 1994) and the Slave Route (since 1995). The WTO is currently preparing a campaign against child sex tourism.

IATA holds international congresses and conferences in conjunction with other organizations such as the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), international union telecommunications. They adopt international conventions and agreements, such as the Chicago Tariff Convention, adopted at the Chicago Conference in 1944. In 2000, PLATA held and plans to hold such events as the Meeting of Ministers of Transport in the framework of the campaign against air carrier flight delays in Brussels, the Management Conference Customer Relations in Miami, Airline Meeting at highest level on financing in New York and other scientific and practical events. IATA prepares and implements training programs, for example, in 2000, together with world federation Associations of Travel Agents (UFTAA) "New International IATA/UFTAA Training Program". IATA is implementing activities to facilitate interaction between airlines and travel agents. So, in its structure, IATA opened a special department - the International Organization of Airline Agents (IATAN).

PATA hosts activities such as tourism exchanges such as the Pacific Tourism Exchange in Sydney; tourism markets such as the PATA Travel Market in Singapore; annual PATA conferences (in 2000 such a conference will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia); specialized conferences (in 2000, Nepal hosted the XII Conference on Adventure and Ecotourism on the theme "Minimum impact - maximum experience"; in 2001, PATA planned to hold the XIII Conference in Sri Lanka); annual meetings of PATA for North and South America (in 2000 - in San Diego - USA), tourism forums (in 2000, the 5th PATA Tourism Forum was held in Phnom Penh, the key topic of which was "Discovering the pearls of tourism in the new century ").

HOTREC holds such international events as "round tables" (in 1996 in Genoa - "round table" on competition in tourism and its impact on the industry of hotels, restaurants and cafes); seminars (in 1997 in Stockholm - a seminar on the problems of environmental protection and protection in the context of the development of the European hotel and restaurant industry); symposia (in 1997 - a symposium on taxes in the hotel and restaurant industry). HOTREK participates in the creation of new organizations and unions. For example, in 1995, HOTREK merged with the ESTAA (Group of Associations of National Travel Agents and Tour Operators in the European Union) as part of the NET network (Network of European Private Entrepreneurs in the Tourism Sector). HOTREC regularly publishes an information leaflet "Live from Brussels", as well as topical publications on the problems and prospects for the development of the hotel and restaurant industry. For example, the presentation of the publication "150 measures of the European Union affecting restaurants and cafes" in 1998 was accompanied by the play "Café "The Future of Europe"", which in a humorous way raised the issues of over-regulation and high taxation in the European sector of hotels, restaurants and cafe.

BITS to solve the problems of development and promotion of social tourism in the world holds such events as international meetings, congresses, symposiums, seminars, round tables. Thus, in 1999 Quebec hosted the 1st Meeting on Social Tourism, and Mexico City hosted the Seminar on Youth Tourism in Latin America and the Caribbean. In 2000, the Bureau is preparing the BITS World Congress in Napoli (Italy) and the International Youth Exchange Forum in Namur (Belgium). BITS publishes the quarterly magazine "International Social Tourism".

One of the main international events held by FIJET is the award ceremony of a country, city or organization for an outstanding contribution to the development of tourism. The winner is awarded the "Golden Apple" FIJET. This award was awarded in 1996 to the city of Dubrovnik (Yugoslavia), and in 1997 to Moscow.

SPORT AND TOURISM EVENT

WEEKEND HIKING

"TOURIST DAY"

Designed for children 10 - 11 years old together with their parents.

Compiled by the teacher primary school Kudasheva N.A.

MKOU secondary school No. 2 r.p. Mullovka

State educational standards of general education of the second generation define new requirements for the results of mastering the basic educational programs. A special place in the implementation of the Federal State Educational Standard is given to the formation of universal educational activities. New social demands define the goals of education as the general cultural, personal and cognitive development of students, providing such a key competence of education as “teach to learn”. At the same time, knowledge, skills and abilities are formed, applied and stored in close connection with active actions of the students themselves.

Tourism can be considered as an option. Tourism is both ways of activity, and what how the individual is involved in the activity. In the very general view tourism is a well-thought-out system, “how” and “how” the goal is embodied in a “specific type of product” or its constituent part. If the methodological system is aimed at solving the following problems: what to teach? why teach? how to teach? then in this case, we can single out the third question with one significant addition: how to teach effectively Thus, one of the features of tourism activity is that it requires high activity of both the teacher and students. The experience of tourism clearly shows that it is in this field of activity that students are provided with a wide range of opportunities for disclosing such components of social competence as: - communication, where communication skills and abilities are revealed; - the ability to solve problems, namely: the ability to plan and carry out actions in such a way as to obtain the expected result; - collaboration through effective teamwork; - self-development, which implies the ability to organize one's activities, self-knowledge, self-esteem, critical and analytical thinking; - possession information technology, implying the ability not only to use known technical and software tools for processing information, but also the ability to independently master new ones.

    Event objectives:

    a) stimulate the desire of children for motor activity, for a sense of the value and joy of movement and communication;

    b) to form in students a sense of involvement in the sports and tourism life of the school;

    c) develop the spiritual experience of children in sports and gaming activities;

    d) develop physical qualities(strength, speed, endurance, coordination of movements);

    e) maintain and strengthen the vital functions of the organism of children;

    f) education of a cohesive team, self-confidence and abilities.

Universal learning activities:

Organization of group work to create a situation of partnership and mutual respect; - providing the opportunity to live a variety of roles to master the norms of communication with peers and adults; - a systematic offer of tasks to choose from for the accumulation of experience in a conscious choice; - Education of discipline within the framework of a joint activity also has an impact on the formation of competencies to cooperate in a group, responsibility for the decision made, attitudes towards positive social activity. The development of will, arbitrariness of behavior, conscious goal-setting, which is mandatory in tourism activities, is closely related to the formation of social responsibility. And this, in turn, has a positive impact on the spiritual and moral development of pupils, on their self-determination in the future.

Scenario

Weekend trip "Tourist's Day"

The weekend trip consists of two main parts. The first, before lunch, is the Test Trail, the second, after lunch, is the Big Bonfire.

In the morning, all participants of the exit gather at the school, line up on patrols (patrols and an adult leader are distributed in advance) and go to the venue of the event. Upon arrival, the patrols disperse at a distance of no more than 1 meter from each other. Each patrol is divided into two parts. One part puts up a tent, the other part cleans the territory. Once set up, the patrol puts their personal gear (including bags, jackets, etc.) into their tent, and lines up on a line to announce missions.

The tests consist of 4 stations, which include four stops. At stops, the patrol leader reads out the task to be completed. Children, completing the task, receive a painting in the route sheet and one puzzle from the picture. After passing the last stop, the route sheets are handed over to the chief judge (responsible for the event). Route sheets do not require special calculation.

The big bonfire begins with the judge announcing: “Patrols have collected almost the entire picture, but one piece is missing (shows a picture with the missing central piece). This piece can be earned by showing creativity (10 minutes to prepare). It is necessary to show an agitation or present a patrol in a bright and beautiful way.” In this case, all patrols must participate (agitation no more than 5 minutes - home preparation).

After viewing all the agitation, the judge hands over the last piece of the picture, which is immediately put on an empty place (the assembled picture is shown to the children). The picture remains at school as a keepsake of the trip. And all the children stand in a large circle and “light” the Big fire. After the Big bonfire, everyone, just as amicably, holds the action "We were not here." The chief judge passes and checks the cleanliness of the parking lots, after which he distributes the “Young Tourist” badges to the leaders of the patrols (according to the number of children in the patrol)

The fox will lead the seven wolves.

Water flowed from the mountains - brought spring.

April with water, and May with grass.

Spring rain grows, and autumn rots.

One swallow does not make spring.

January is the beginning of the year, winter is the middle.

Gotta run and scream

Stomp, quarrel and get angry,

And do not answer the call.

Is this the correct answer?

You can probably meet

Both the bunny and the fox

If it's quiet, be careful

Move through the forest.

Remember that forever.

Do you agree with me?

Toadstools and toadstools!

Kick them, beat them with a stick!

In the clearing so as not to hear,

There wouldn't be them, not even a spirit.

Is this the correct answer?

You saw the chicks in the nest

But be careful not to offend.

Move away so they don't see

You from the air their parents.

Do you agree with me?

Our journey is coming to an end and it's time for us to head home. But you and I remember well the rules of behavior in nature and we know that when leaving, tourists must put things in order. Therefore, the participants of the next competition should quickly collect the papers and make a parting word to everyone who goes on a hike.

creative competition

A wonderful evening by the fire. Here they sing songs and tell interesting stories. Your task is to come up with a forest fairy tale based on its beginning. While the players compose a fairy tale, a quiet relay race is held.

For the first team: "Once upon a time in a clearing where strong red-hatted boletuses lived, a feisty, deceiving fly agaric appeared ..."

For the second team: "Mushroom pickers came to the forest, and there was a little boletus all alone, they took him to be brought up by a toadstool..."

Trial 4

One of the rules of behavior in nature is silence, because it is wonderful to listen to the sounds of nature. The players of each team must pass the rattle so that it does not rattle, while the last player steps forward, then the penultimate one, etc.

The team that has kept silence the longest, or the one that completed the exercise first, wins.

Fairy tale competition

So our campaign came to an end, you managed to tell a lot, show, show your best qualities- ingenuity, resourcefulness, dexterity, mutual assistance. The last thing we have to do is put out the fire. You will come up and take one tongue of a fire, unfinished phrases are written there. If you complete the phrase correctly, the team will earn a point, and if not, the point will be deducted from the points you have already earned, because the fire must be extinguished without fail.

Holiday

"Merry Tourists"

Target: generalize and expand the knowledge of children about the culture of behavior in nature.

Tasks:

    form an active life position;

    to promote the unity of the children's team through joint activities;

    develop a love for nature.

Characters: Host, Lesovik and Kikimora. The forester is kind, helps in the campaign. Kikimora interferes with tourists, intrigues.

Leading:

Dear Guys! Summer is the time for exciting hikes. And today we will go on a tourist trail. Did you have time to prepare for the trip? Do you know what situations might lie in wait for you? ( children's answers)

Departure.

The first surprise: crossing the stream on a log.

On the other side, an unusual bush is visible. It is hung with hazelnuts and a letter is written on each. A tourist who has overcome an obstacle must pick one nut from a bush, and then make a word together. This word is "Hello".

Who greets us?

Lesovik: You are welcome to come to the forest, dear travelers! Did you recognize me? I am a forester, the owner of the local forests. I love my forest, I keep its secret. I can whisper heart to heart with every leaf and blade of grass. And guests - kind and pleasant - I always welcome. And I will help you along the way, protect you from all kinds of misfortunes. Only, guys, you have to be more careful in the forest. Well, look over there! (points to bushes)

Kikimora: Who is stopping me? And the tourists... But you don't know anything and don't know how!

(Children tell the rules of behavior in nature.)

Kikimora: That's bad luck, we managed to get out! Well, nothing, ahead is a lake! Stupid! When they see it, they jump into the water. It's hot!

Lesovik: Guys, did you hear what Kikimora whispered about? But we will be smarter - we will not climb into an unfamiliar body of water. And what does it threaten? (children's statement) And how to save those who are in the water? (answers guys)

Kikimora: And they all know! Well, lumberjack. He leads them further and further. But a surprise awaits them on the shore.

Lesovik: Here is the landing place. And how much garbage! Why, this rubbish was thrown by unfortunate tourists. Maybe it’s good for them - they don’t need to clean it up, but for nature - grief! What should we do now: move on, look for a place?

Leading: We need to help nature, and she will thank us. (The guys tidy up the clearing.)

Lesovik: Well, you have successfully passed the way, and now I will give you the medals "Beginner Tourist". Where are they?

Kikimora: And I stole them. Stole and hid!

Lesovik: Give it back! The guys deserved them, otherwise I will tell all the inhabitants of the forest what intrigues you arranged.

Kikimora: Okay, I'll give it. But since you are such good tourists, look for them yourself. Do you have one that can navigate? Let him stand exactly in this place, and the rest all around, ten steps away from him. And hands behind your back. Now I will slip a medal into someone's hand - and he, the player in the center, let him guess who. I can only say that you need to go exactly to the "south".

Lesovik: Guys! Do you know what will help us now? Compass! Here he is! Only he will help the one who knows how to use it. (Guys use a compass to find a bag of medals.)

Guys, you are now real tourists! Happy roads to you, friends!

tourist game

"How to behave on a hike"

Target: to consolidate the children's knowledge about the culture of behavior in nature.

Tasks:

    teach children to correctly evaluate their own actions and the actions of others;

    to strive for each pupil to know the norms and rules of behavior in nature;

    develop respect for the environment.

The game is held in the classroom of the tourist circle before going on a hike. The guys are divided into two teams and offer each team member (in turn) to evaluate a specific situation, to say what is done in it and what is not. Teammates supplement or correct answers as needed. The opposing team is closely following the discussion. She is interested in supplementing or correcting the answerer in order to get extra points.

Plots:

1. The guys set up tents. Now they need to be arranged so that it is good to sleep. The boys went to the forest for paws.

2. "Here is a bonfire. Let's make a bonfire here," suggested Alik. "Why are you here? Let's go out under the tree, it's more comfortable there," the girls objected. The boys went where they pointed, dug a hole, threw the earth away so as not to interfere.

3. Nina suddenly saw a nest in the bushes, in which lay five neat chocolate-colored eggs (nightingales). She carefully took one, put it in her palm, admired it, and then returned it to its place.

4. The guys saw a chick on the grass that couldn't fly. They looked around for the nest from which he had fallen, but did not find it and decided to take the chick with them.

5. Suddenly, a squirrel appeared right in front of them. One of the boys contrived and covered her with a hat. "Now you'll be mine," he said contentedly.

6. The boy took out a matchbox from his pocket, opened it slightly and, carefully holding the body of a lovely butterfly, showed the guys his trophies.

7. The guys were walking through the forest with a puppy and suddenly noticed that he was not around. They called him, shouted, but he never answered.

8. One of the girls noticed: "Something has become quiet in the forest. Even the birds do not sing. It's completely boring. You need to turn on the transistor louder."

9. The boys made their way through the thickets of water plants, first along the muddy bottom, and then by swimming in order to pick and give the girls a snow-white water lily, which they called "water lily". "Let them appreciate us, we weren't even afraid of leeches," everyone thought.

10. The guys dug a hole under the bush and put in it all the garbage that appeared after the rest.

11. Vadim walked around the clearing with an empty tin can in search of something suitable to wrap it up and put in a backpack. "What are you doing with this jar?" he heard. "Throw it into the water and be done with it."

12. Paper, transparent crumpled bags, broken plastic cups and other rubbish lay on the ground. The guys collected all this and burned it at the stake.

13. After dinner, there was porridge left, everyone ate, and no one wanted more. "Throw her into the fire," someone suggested.

14. Everyone was already ready to go, when suddenly one of the guys saw on the dark trunk of a linden tree, somewhere at eye level, fresh incisions: grade 7, the number of their school and the year. "Who thought of doing this?" Yura asked. No one confessed, then Yura took a knife and cut off the inscriptions.

Tips for the teacher: student responses to assess situations should be something like this.

1. When going on an overnight camping trip, you should take a sleeping bag, etc., so as not to cause damage to the forest.

2. A bonfire is not lit unnecessarily, but if it is needed, an old bonfire is used to prevent the earth from burning. The campfire site should not be near trees. The fire is always diligently extinguished.

3. Nothing can be taken from the nest - a bird can throw a hatched egg.

4, 5. Wild animals, their cubs and chicks must not be taken away from the natural environment. Animals raised in captivity are not adapted to life in nature.

6. There are very few beautiful butterflies left in nature. You can’t catch them and, moreover, put them in a matchbox. The butterfly will beat against the walls of the box, the wings will fray and, most likely, it will have to be thrown away. Indefinitely, you can catch only cabbage white butterflies.

7. The puppy must be found, otherwise he will become a stray. In early spring, when birds sit on nests and chicks hatch, you should not take dogs into the forest, because they will scare the birds.

8. In nature, listen to silence or the sounds of nature.

9. You can pick flowers in nature only in very limited quantities. Water lilies cannot be torn, because they are listed in the Red Book of the Republic of Belarus due to their rarity. If you meet flowering bird cherry on a hike, you need to explain to the children that you can’t disfigure a tree by breaking all the branches indiscriminately and taking huge armfuls out of the forest, especially since medicinal berries will appear in place of the flowers. You just need to cut a few branches.

10. Forest, meadow, banks of water bodies - not a place for garbage disposal. All waste after rest should be taken with you to the city, especially glassware and synthetic packaging. In nature, there are no organisms that would decompose them. Digging holes for garbage means to increase your impact on nature.

11. Throwing anything into water bodies is unacceptable. Water is the habitat of plants and animals, and it is impossible to turn them into a cemetery of any rubbish just because it is not visible under water. The possibility of fishing and the usefulness of our rest depend on the purity of the reservoir. In addition, swimming in such a reservoir, you can get sick or injure your arm or leg.

12. It is impossible to burn plastic film, foam rubber products, plastics. Very harmful substances formed during combustion will enter the air. In addition, resin remains in the ground that does not decompose naturally. All this must be taken to the city and thrown into containers.

13. Food is never burned. There is always someone in nature who will eat it: an animal or a fish in a pond.

14. Anyone who carves inscriptions on trees or stones is uncultured, but Yura should not have caused a new injury to the tree.

Tourist relay race

Target: popularization of knowledge, skills and abilities in the field of tourism and local history.

4. How to choose a place for a halt?
5. How to make an estimate for a hike?
6. What are the rules for the route?

ORIENTATION QUIZ
1. On any sunny day, you can accurately determine the direction "south-north". At noon, the sun is above the south point. How to determine the moment of local noon?
2. What time is the sun in the south according to our clock?
3. The sun rises approximately in the east and sets in the west. When does it occur in the east, southeast, south, southwest, and west?
4. Sometimes we call one of the sides of a place north, and the opposite - south. Having divided our forest clearing, name the signs of the northern and southern directions on it.
5. It is widely believed that the north is easy to determine by the development of branches, crown and annual rings on stumps. Is it possible to determine in this way the north in the forest?
6. The bark of trees around the trunk of trees is not the same. On the one hand, it is rougher, on the other - more elastic, smoother. Is there any connection here with the sides of the horizon?
7. Of course, you have seen stones covered with moss and lichen. How to find out the direction to the north from such stones?
8. Did you know that plants can serve as a "compass"? Name the plants by which you can determine the north direction?
9. The fruits of various plants and berries in an open area ripen equally from all sides. How, in this regard, by the fruits and berries to determine where the north is?
10. North is often determined by the North Star, which is found in the constellation Ursa Major. What constellations, besides Ursa Major, can determine the direction "north-south"?
Answers to the orienteering quiz:
1. The shortest shadow in the sun corresponds to the moment of local noon.
2. About 13 hours. In 1930, on the basis of a government decree, the clock hands were transferred to the USSR one hour ahead.
3. About 7 o'clock happens in the east; about 10 hours - in the southeast; about 13 hours - in the south; about 4 p.m. in the southwest; about 19 hours - in the west.
4. In the first half of summer in a forest clearing, taller grass is found on the south side of individual trunks or high stumps; in the second half of summer, the grass is the same on all sides of the tree trunk; located on the south side becomes yellow faster than the north.
5. No, not suitable. In the thicket of the forest, the trees cover each other from the sun, therefore, in the vast majority of trees located in the depths of the forest, the branches are very rarely extended in a southerly direction. The same applies to the increased gaps between the annual rings on the stumps.
6. Yes, there is. The trunk of a pine tree is usually covered with a secondary crust, which forms earlier on the north side of the trunk, and therefore it is higher than on the south side. On birches, the bark is lighter and more elastic on the south side of the trunk.
7. Moss and lichen usually cover the northern part of the stones (boulders).
8. The flowers of the string and sunflower turn after the sun during the day and never face north. The leaves of wild lettuce ("compassion") are turned edge to the zenith, and the planes of the leaves are facing east and west.
9. In an open forest area, berries and fruits during the ripening period acquire the color of the south side earlier. So north is on the opposite side.
10. The direction "north-south" can be determined by the following constellations:
a) in December, around midnight, Orion points almost due south;
b) Gemini is located above the south point in December around midnight, Canis Minor - in January;
c) the constellation Leo is over the point of the south in March around midnight;
d) in May, around midnight, the constellation Bootes is located above the point of the south;
e) the constellations Cygnus and Aquila are in the south approximately during July and August around midnight;
f) Pegasus is located over the south point in September around midnight.

FIRE QUIZ
1. Do you know why dry wood burns better than wet wood?
2. We begin to kindle a fire with the help of small chips, brushwood, dry spruce branches, they burn better.

Why?
3. Do you know what a fire flame is? Does it look like a glowing filament of an electron lamp?

4. If the weather is calm, then the flame and smoke of the fire rise up. What is pulling them off the ground?
5. Of course, you have heard that the fire is crackling. And why?
6. More than once it happens that a spark from a fire burns through the clothes of a tourist. But what are the sparks of a fire? Are they not the same as the sparks that jump when electrical wires are torn?
7. The smoke of a fire rises very high above the ground. This feature is used to send distress signals. What is smoke?
8. Above the fire, the smoke rises in an even column, but at a certain height it begins to swirl in curly hats. What forms clubs?
9. In the fire all the time you have to put firewood, as they burn out. Where is the substance that burns in the fire?
10. When the fire goes out, the air above the fire rises like a pillar. Look at something through this warm current. You will notice that the object seems to be trembling. Explain this phenomenon.
Answers to the questions "About the fire":
1. With damp firewood, in which there is a lot of water, part of the heat is not spent on combustion, but on the evaporation of water. Therefore, the combustion process itself is weaker. The steam enveloping the firewood when it dries also interferes.
2. The thinner the kindling, the larger their surface. Combustion occurs precisely on the surface, and therefore, by increasing it, we facilitate combustion. Small kindlings heat up more easily than large firewood when dry.
3. Tongues of flame are streams of hot gases, products of combustion, heated so much that they themselves emit light. Any body heated to a very high temperature glows. In this way, the fire flame is similar to the luminous filament of an electric light bulb. At the same time, it does not look like it, since there is no firewood in the light bulb.
4. It is sometimes said that warm air is lighter than cold air and rises by itself. This is not true. By itself, warm air, although lighter than cold air, cannot rise, since it still has weight. It is displaced by the surrounding air, which is colder and descends under the influence of gravity, which means that if there were no gravity, warm air would not go up.
5. Water and resin filling the cavities in the wood turn into steam when heated. Accumulating in large quantities and having no way out, the steam breaks the walls of the cavities with force, producing a crackling sound.
6. What sparks of a fire and electric sparks have in common is only the name. Electric sparks are particles of air and metal vapors heated by current. The sparks of a fire are just tiny embers coming off a burning tree.
7. Smoke is particles of solid matter, unburned fuel. These particles are very small, they are a thousand times smaller than dust particles. Smoke particles are so light that they are supported by air currents above the ground and are always in motion.
8. The jet of air rising like a fire is slowed down by friction against the air layers surrounding it. The outer parts of the jet slow down their movement, while the middle continues to move quickly. The air flow swirls and, twisting, forms shapeless clubs.
9. Fuel burns, but not the substance of which it consists. Part of the substance remains on the ground in the form of ash, while part passes into a gaseous state and dissipates in the atmosphere.
10. Trembling is caused by the fact that warm air is less dense than cold air. Rays of light entering our eye pass through this less dense air stream. When passing from a less dense medium to a denser one, or vice versa, the rays of light sparkle, warm jets over the fire systematically sway. Light rays also oscillate with them, and this creates the impression of trembling of visible objects.

II. Map search. Team members must, on the territory of the camp (each in their own square), find pieces of the map (hints) hidden in various objects (teams must be clearly instructed where to look and what to look for), by bringing these pieces together, you can read the clue (riddle) and determine where treasure is located. At this stage, teams receive 3, 2 and 1 points.

According to the International Tourism Barometer of the World Tourism Organization (World Tourism Barometer), last year the number of international arrivals exceeded the forecast of UNWTO experts by 5% last year. In 2013, 1.087 billion international tourist trips were made, which is 52 million more than in 2012. It should be noted that this growth occurred against the backdrop of a general difficult economic situation in the world.

“2013 has been an excellent year for international tourism,” said UNWTO Secretary-General Taleb Rifai. - The tourism sector has demonstrated the ability to adapt to changing market conditions, as well as the potential for further growth and job creation around the world, despite economic and geopolitical challenges. In fact, tourism has become one of the few economic sectors that has made a good contribution to the economies of many countries.”

According to UNWTO experts, the number of international arrivals in 2014 will also increase by 4-4.5%, which should again exceed the long-term forecast of experts who had expected an annual growth of 3.8% between 2010 and 2020.

The number of international arrivals to European countries increased by 29 million last year, reaching a total of 563 million (an increase of 5%). Here the best results were shown by the countries of Central and Eastern Europe (+7%) and Southern Europe (+6%).

Growth in 6% was shown by the countries of Asia and the Pacific region. International arrivals increased by 14 million to 248 million. The countries of South-East Asia showed the best results (+10%), the countries of South and North-East Asia showed a moderate growth of 4%.

The number of international arrivals in the Americas increased by 4% (169 million). North and Central America became the undisputed leaders here (4% each).
Some slowdown compared to 2012 was shown by South America and the Caribbean (2% and 1% respectively).

African continent set new record in 56 million arrivals (+6%); The results of the Middle East countries (0% growth, 52 million arrivals) are, of course, related to the unstable political situation in the region.
