Fishing on Lake Teletskoye in the Altai Mountains. Fishing in Altai. Teletskoye lake Is it possible to fish on Teletskoye lake

teletskoye lake or Altyn-Kol "Golden Lake" is located in the Altai Republic. The second deepest in Russia, reaches 323 m, inferior to Baikal. It lies in a narrow, deep intermountain basin at an altitude of 436 meters above sea level.

The reservoir is located in the north-eastern part of the republic, within the mountain range, in a hollow between the ridges. Geographically, it belongs to two administrative regions - Turochaksky, Ulagansky. It is a recreation center for local residents, it is visited by many tourists from other regions and foreign countries. It belongs to the complex object "Golden Mountains of Altai", which is protected by UNESCO.

Origin and description of Lake Teletskoye

Most scientists are inclined to believe that it appeared as a result of natural processes directly related to the tectonic activity of the earth's crust. Experts have two versions of the genesis of Kamenny Bay: the fall of a meteorite; collapse of a nearby rock. Numerous fragments of stones with traces of melting on the surfaces speak in favor of the first.

They began to call the reservoir Teletsky 4 hundred years ago after the name of the Turkic tribes of the Teleses. He owes this to the Russian pioneers. Before that, the locals used to have Golden Lake, Altyn-Kol.

Description

The length of the lake is impressive - 77.8 km with a small (0.6 ... 5.2) width (it is limited by mountain slopes). In the northern part, the lake is elongated in the direction west - east, in the southern part - along the meridian. There is a steep (90°) channel turn between them.

From north to east, the water surface is bordered by picturesque ranges: Abakansky, Shapshalsky, Korbu and Iolgo, popular with vacationers, in the southwest. Throughout - sheer, steep cliffs. There are very few shallow coastlines. Most have slopes close to the vertical, steep, cut by gorges, with picturesque bays. The lake has two significant bays - Kamginsky, Kyginsky, in which almost all fish from the reservoir spawn. In the southern, northern parts there are wide stretches. Lake Teletskoye is divided into two parts: northern and southern. The shores differ in the structure and nature of the bottom, weather conditions. The climate has a peculiar, unique regime. The weather changes several times a day.

The largest tributary is the Chulyshman River. Around the reservoir there is a whole network of small rivers and lakes, there are more than 300 of them.

These are the sights of Altyn-Kol. Thousands of tourists come here every year, attracted by the beautiful nature of the mountain slopes and numerous waterfalls. Some are large, others are small, but all deserve attention. The most popular is Korbu. The road to it is lined with wooden boards, which does not violate the integrity of the vegetation cover. The beauty of these places evokes romance and involuntarily makes you believe in fantastic stories associated with them.

Climate

The climate within Lake Teletskoye is continental. The peculiarity is the difference in climatic characteristics in opposite areas. In the northern part, the temperature is lower by 4 °C…5 °C than in the southern one. In the latter, precipitation is 2 times less. A rare and dangerous phenomenon is observed here: during the day the rocks heat up under the sun, and at night they cool and crack so that the stones break off and fly away with sufficient speed.

The latitudinal part from Cape Azhi to Artybash, characterized by shallow depths and narrowness, is frozen in winter. On the meridional, deep, it appears less frequently - every third year. So transparent that the bottom can be seen through it in coastal areas with depths of 5-6 m.

Winds blow in spring and autumn. They distinguish between the lower one, which has a latitudinal direction and blows from Artybash, and the upper one - from the mouth of the Chulyshman along the meridian. The winds are so strong that the excitement and surf arising under their action lead to the cessation of navigation - it is impossible to disembark people from boats ashore.

Nature of the Teletskoye Lake basin

The reserve was founded in 1932. There are 370 species of animals and birds on the territory under protection. Great importance is given to the plant world.

In the southern part of Lake Teletskoye, the mountain slopes are covered with larch forests. In the east - pine-birch and fir-cedar forests. On the western coast there is a dark coniferous taiga. Fir, cedar, as well as a small amount of hardwoods predominate. The taiga is dense along the entire length of the reservoir, and untouched on the territory of the reserve.

There are bear, lynx, wolverine, wolf. The forest feeds and hides fur-bearing animals. These are common squirrels and hare hares, and rare sable, Siberian weasels. And near the water surface there are traces of otters and minks. The Altai badger is widespread.

On the right bank is Yailyu - a reserved village. It is surrounded by high mountains and there is no land road to get there. You can get to the place by water. Workers of the reserve and scientists who study the unique flora and fauna of this amazing place live here.

Fish from Lake Teletskoye

There are 14 types. Valuable ones include:

  • taimen;
  • grayling;
  • lenok (boring).

Fishing on Lake Teletskoye

There are rare subspecies, characteristic only for the region. This is a handsome taimen. He is caught by spinning. It is extremely difficult to attract a giant from the shore, so it is better, armed with strong gear and deep wobblers, to try your luck in trolling. During the fattening period, in spring and autumn, taimen are caught in the tributaries of Lake Teletskoye.

Fishing, especially in summer, also attracts fly fishers. They come to enjoy the weighty grayling trophies. The species is distributed throughout the reservoir, often keeps near the mouths of rivers. They catch on artificial flies and on live insects, an earthworm.

Valuable prey - lenok (or uskuch). A species of the salmon family, even taimen is inferior in taste to it. Only a professional can catch a lenok with a bait or a donk. Therefore, bored is a special trophy.

Numerous fish - Teletsky whitefish. The locals call it "herring" because of its resemblance to this species. But it belongs to the salmon family. Like taimen, it is caught on spinning. Lures - wobblers and silicone twisters and vibrotails.

The pleasure of the anglers is the capture of the Telet dace. It is found throughout the territory of Lake Teletskoye, but more in southern shores. It rarely enters the rivers flowing from the reservoir, so it is impractical to look for dace there. From gear it is better to choose light float fishing rods. Due to the peculiarities of the coastline, fishing from a boat will be more effective. But not only the float is popular with local anglers. The dace is also caught by fly-fishing. Dry flies and nymphs show excellent results. Of the bait, dace prefers animal bait: worms, maggot. And during the period of mass departure of insects, they will not refuse them either.

In autumn, pike is actively caught on Lake Teletskoye. In these amazingly beautiful and virgin places, it grows to an impressive size. It is better to catch it, like a perch, on a spinning rod and use rotating and silicone lures.

Fishing on Lake Teletskoye in summer

You can only fish on the left bank, as the right bank is occupied by the State Altai Reserve, where it is prohibited. And you also need to know that taimen (up to 50 kg, up to 2 m long) is a representative of the Red Book of Altai and its fishing forbidden. When caught, they should be released immediately.

It is dangerous to go out alone in a boat. Due to the vastness of the reservoir, the unpredictable weather on it (it changes from calm to storm in a few minutes), it is better to hire a boat together with a local resident who knows the “subtleties” of the object, fishing points on it, and will show sights when traveling.

Interesting species to catch:

  • grayling growing up to 800 g;
  • "giant" (up to 5 kg) lenok;
  • local Sig, average weight which is usually small relative to other fish species (300 g);
  • 6 kg burbots;
  • a lot of pikes, among which there are small squirrels (up to 1 kg) and 10 kg trophies.

The main tackle is spinning. Grayling is also caught by fly-fishing, using artificial flies, earthworms, and live insects as baits. This fish is the most common in Lake Teletskoye, therefore it makes up the main catch. float rods used in the production of local dace. Nozzle - maggot, worms.

Fishing is possible only in the northern part, where the village of Artybash is located and most of the bases and infrastructure are concentrated. The south is poorly mastered by fishermen; savage tourists hunt there more often, for whom a tent is better than every good of civilization.

Winter fishing on Lake Teletskoye

Only the northern part freezes. The south, that is, the deepest water area, is rarely covered with ice. This happens in severe frosts about once every three years.

In November-December, lovers come to the coast winter fishing. Some go for pike and perch. These species are caught everywhere from the ice on medium baubles and balancers. Pike goes great on the zherlitsy. You don’t need to know any special tricks for catching predators in these places.

But there is also a special category - those who are attracted to burbot fishing. Catch on baits that imitate fry. They should be silvery in color, from 5 cm in size. Burbot reacts well to balancers. The predator will not miss a real fish, then it is better to catch it on live bait. Effective bait - ruff and gudgeon. When choosing a bait, remember that burbot will not look in the direction of a lethargic and stale fish.

The predator is also actively caught on traditional vents. But they need to be installed where this fish has already been fished out before. A burbot caught on a hook will not sit quietly and wait to be pulled out of the water. He will resist. Anglers try to catch it by the gills while still in the hole, a hook will come in handy.

Spearfishing on Lake Teletskoye

Impossible without special permission from the Fish Protection Inspectorate. This requirement was established by the Republican Law in 2004.

Korbu is located at the confluence of the Bol River with Teletskoye Lake. For the latter, it is not the only one: the channel is dotted with many waterfalls of different sizes, but Korbu is one of the most significant. The highest (12.5 m), water, flowing down from it, hits a bed of stone blocks and, like a fan, splashes around. It is especially powerful in the spring.

Kishte

Located 4 km from Korbu, at the confluence of the river of the same name. It is more "watery" than Korbu, but is inaccessible due to the ban on landing in its vicinity. Therefore, the object is admired from the boat.

Water, breaking on the base, makes a peculiar sound, due to which its second name among the local people is “Calling”. Excursions to the object are combined with a simultaneous visit to Korbu.

Chedor

Among those visited by tourists, the height is about 8 m. It is located next to the section of the reservoir with the greatest depth. Visiting the site requires observing one of the traditions, according to which one must bring a stone from the waterfall and add it to the pyramid at the mooring of the boats. According to popular beliefs, such a rite guarantees the fulfillment of any desire.

Other attractions of Lake Teletskoye

stone bay

It is located in the northern part of the reservoir (on the opposite bank from the village of Artybash) and looks like a stone bowl surrounded by forests around the entire perimeter. Silence reigns here, the place is just perfect for relaxing, having a picnic.

Experts speak of a small (up to 100 years) age of formation, which is confirmed by the accumulation of stones on the banks that have not yet “packed” and are constantly “moving”, this must be taken into account when visiting the place.

The shores of the bay are made of stones of different sizes, among which there are huge blocks and gravel or crushed stone inclusions weighing up to half a kilogram.

Altai Reserve

The state reserve is located on the right bank. It was formed in 1967 and occupies the mountainous areas of Southern Siberia located in Altai (Turochaksky, Ulagansky districts). Its area exceeds 881 thousand hectares; it is elongated in shape from southeast to northwest, for 230 km and narrow in width (up to 40 km).

One fifth of the territory of the reserve is represented by pebbles, stone talus, rocks. On its area there are almost 1.2 thousand lakes with a water surface of more than 1 hectare and many smaller ones. There is also the largest Altai waterfall Uchar (the official name is Big Chulchinsky), which drops water from a height of 150 m.

The reserve is one of the largest in Russia. You can move around the territory only along a few paths that are "pierced" by foresters and scientists. It is possible to drive by car along one road made of rubble in the northern part and connecting the villages of Yailyu and Biyk.

The reserve is covered mainly with coniferous forests; on the territory there are more than two hundred endemic plants that exist only here. The region is rich in mosses (500 species), various plants (1500), predators (16) and other representatives of flora and fauna.

How to get to Teletskoye Lake

The road is not so easy. Remember that it is located in a protected area and therefore it is sometimes impossible to get there by direct flight. A trip to Teletskoye Lake is an exciting event in itself. They get there in different ways: by bus, by car, by plane and by boat. It is more convenient to go to the village of Artybash, which is why most of the tourist bases and campsites are concentrated here. IN summer period to this settlement there is a direct bus delivery from the cities of Barnaul and Novosibirsk. In the warm season, the transport issue is not so relevant. More difficult in winter. But there is also a simple way out. You can get to Teletskoye Lake by car. At the same time, a trip to picturesque places with the opportunity to make short stops will cause genuine delight.

Tashtagol road

This route contains two sections. First, they go from Tashtagol to Turochak, overcoming 90 km of the road, which is operated by the Altai and Kemerovo road services.

Further, the section Turochak - Artybash with a length of 70 km follows. The final destination is located on the coast, it offers tourists a lot of bases, estates and other places where you can comfortably settle. The tract is asphalted and more landscaped than the previous section.

Altai Reservoirs are very colorful and cover a large territory of the region with water. In terms of attractiveness and attendance, the pride of the mountainous Altai region, Lake Teletskoye, occupies a leading position.

The Altai Territory is famous for its healing herbs, clean air and healing honey, and only the elite can boast of knowledge about the splendor of lakes, rivers and their inhabitants.

Lake Teletskoye: Fishing Features

The deep and cold upland lake serves as a permanent home for 14 species of fish, of which two live only here, and you will not find them in any water basin our planet. These are Pravdin whitefish and Teletsky whitefish.

From the point of view of local residents, Teletsky whitefish is a kind of ordinary herring. In fact, this is a real example of a noble family of salmon in miniature - its weight does not exceed 5 kg. On the eve of spawning (October), the whitefish willingly frolics near the heated surface of the water, where it becomes an easy prey for fishermen.

Of particular interest to anglers are commercial fish:

- pikes, among which there are teenage squirrels and 10-kilogram trophies;
- perch;
- dace is the most popular type of fish among local residents.

Fishing for Taimen

But Lake Teletskoye became famous thanks to the handsome taimen, baptized by popular rumor as “mountainous”. This is the most valuable and largest representative of the salmon family, reaching one and a half meters in length and weighing up to 80 kg. Taimen spawns in late May-early June in shallow rivers that feed the lake. Active biting begins after spawning and continues until October.

Catching taimen with spinning from the shore is not the best the best way, so trolling on the lake with reliable gear and a deep wobbler will allow you to get especially large specimens. Such fishing strictly follows the strict rule: catch - release, since the taimen, as a small species, is listed in the Red Book.

Local fish uskuch (lenok), reaching 5 kg, is considered a reduced twin of taimen. Unlike its eminent counterpart, uskuch is available for fishing all year round. Spawning begins in the spring - at this time it actively moves along the lake, entering the mouths of the rivers. They catch bored mainly with a bait or drag, nets are ideal for small individuals.

Throughout the year, and especially during the summer months, on Lake Teletskoye, fly fishers adjoin spinning enthusiasts to enjoy catching grayling. This is a very mobile fish with a stunningly beautiful dorsal fin, reminiscent of the coloring of the peacock's tail. Individuals of this species grow up to half a meter and gain weight of 2-3 kg.

This representative of the salmon family is not picky about food: in his diet there are bottom mollusks, insects, and fish caviar. Based on food preferences, fishermen and baits are selected - flies, grasshoppers, spinners, all kinds of tricks. Grayling spawns from April to May in the mouths of rivers flowing into the lake.

The freshwater messenger of cod fish is burbot - a numerous deep-sea lover of transparent and cold water, the owner of a rather impressive metric data (length up to 1.2 m with a weight of about 10 kg). For a long three months, from January to March, the burbot is spawning, then it falls into the lake and fattens. Perfectly responds to fishing with baits and small baubles throughout the year.

Of the smallest fish in Lake Teletskoye, there are: minnow (of the carp family), variegated and Siberian sculpins (in the common people - broad-browed), Siberian char (of the loach family).

The tectonic depression between the Korbu and Altyntu ranges in the northeast, filled with the purest water, has several names. The local population has long called it Altynkol, that is, the Golden Lake. According to the legend, an Altaian, desperate to exchange a huge piece of pure gold for food for his family, threw a nugget into the water and jumped down after him. However, the basin of Lake Teletskoye is still rich in gold placers.

Russian pioneers about four centuries ago called it Teletsky in honor of the Turkic tribe that lived on its shores - the Teleses. There are few lakes that would be ahead of him in height (at around 436 meters) and in depth (maximum at 325, and average at 174 meters). In terms of the amount of fresh water, Teletskoye is second only to Baikal. Golden Lake covers an area of 223 km 2 and has a strongly elongated shape, since its length (more than 77 kilometers) is 15 times its width.

An underwater ridge up to 211 meters high divides Lake Teletskoye into two basins. The bottom is muddy, and closer to the shore - rocky. The cliffs surrounding the lake in the south reach 2400 meters. Streams of numerous waterfalls fall into the lake in ledges from the rocks. Among the steep banks there is a place for gorges, cliffs, grottoes and colorful bays, and the mountain ranges are overgrown with centuries-old pines. covers the wild, untouched taiga. Bays Kyginsky and Kamginsky serve as a spawning ground for lake fish. The northern and southern extremities are crowned with wide stretches.

In some years, the lake does not freeze completely in winter, but most of it is covered with ice in late autumn - mid-winter, and it melts in April or May.

The mountain lake of unique beauty warms up to 24 degrees in the south. The right-bank part of its territory is covered by the status of the Altai Reserve. The nearest settlements to it are the villages of Iogach (Artybash) and Yaylo. Chulyshman, the largest of 70 rivers and 150 small tributaries, flows into the lake from the south. It feeds Lake Teletskoye with the waters of Dzhulkul, located even higher. The Biya flowing from it carries water further, feeding the Ob with them.

They get to the northern, most developed part of the lake from Gorno-Altaisk or Biysk. You can rest on the territory of the reserve only with a special permit issued by the administration of the village of Yaylo. The southern part is little explored, as they get to it only by boat, boat or off-road vehicle, having overcome the dangerous Katu-Yaryk pass. There are practically no roads on the coast, and between several villages scattered over two hundred kilometers, communication is carried out by water. The complexity of the path plays into the hands of nature: no one litters the forests and waters, the virgin purity, characteristic of hard-to-reach places, is observed. Hundreds of species of birds and animals are found in the taiga in the vicinity of the Golden Lake.

The oxygen-rich water makes it an excellent habitat for fish, and its transparency reaches up to 15 meters in some places. About 14 species of fish inhabit Lake Teletskoye. Among them, the most numerous populations are taimen, lenok (uskuch), grayling, perch and whitefish. There are also pike, and burbot, and dace.

The king of all fish is considered to be taimen, salmon fish, the length of which reaches one and a half meters, and the weight reaches 40 kilograms. Local fishermen are happy to regale tourists with legends about giant fish. Most of all, taimen is found in bays near the source of the Chulyshman River. Best of all, he pecks after spawning, in the month of June, but his fishing is now suspended, so fishermen who accidentally caught taimen are obliged to release him.

The favorite prey of the fishermen was the Teletsky grayling up to forty centimeters in length and weighing up to eight hundred grams, which is best caught in the area of the mouths of the rivers flowing into the Golden Lake. This variety of salmon fish goes for natural baits (gadflies, grasshoppers, flies, stoneflies, mayflies) and artificial (baits, flies, tricks and even a “mouse”). Grayling spawns in May and June, and actively pecks all year round.

Uskuch (lenok), also belonging to salmon, is not inferior to taimen in taste. Its maximum parameters reach a length of 70 centimeters and 6 kilograms of weight. In the bulk, individuals weighing three to four kilograms come across. Spawns uskuch in the middle and end of spring, actively pecking all year round. It is found near the coast, but its population is not large.

Whitefish is found in the Golden Lake of two species: Teletsky and Pravdina, both from the salmon family. The population of the Teletsky whitefish is very numerous, individuals grow to an average length of 50 centimeters. It collects insects everywhere from the surface of the lake, but in the middle and late autumn, before spawning, it prefers the calm waters of the Kamginsky Bay. It bites on the same bait as grayling. Sig Pravdina is its smallest variety, reaching 15 centimeters in length. For spawning, it goes to the mouth of the Biya, then returns to the lake. Its population is small and is listed in the Red Book of Altai, so it is not recommended to catch it, and if this happens, it is better to let it go.

The population of burbot, a representative of cod, is quite numerous. Leads a benthic lifestyle, sometimes found at a depth of more than a hundred meters. In length it can reach 1.2 meters, and in weight - ten kilograms. Spawns from January to March. It bites well on small baubles and baits. Ruffs and fish slices serve as excellent bait. The biting of burbot in Lake Teletskoye is year-round, it is found everywhere, especially in the southern part.

Yelets from the carp family, or, locally, chebak, rarely exceeds 200 grams in weight, and 20 centimeters in length. It feeds on the bottom with mosquito larvae (bloodworms), rising near the shore to the surface for insects blown into the water. The fish is very nimble, and it is difficult to catch it, so catching it with a bait is quite reckless, with strong bites and sharp hooking. In the mornings, flocks of dace can be found on the riffles, in the evenings - under the bank at a depth. They love to feast on caviar in salmon spawning areas. They prefer southern waters and Kyginsky Bay. Dace spawns in late spring and early summer, and winters in the Chulyshman River.

Pike in Golden Lake does not exceed one meter and eleven kilograms. Spawns for about a week in May on grassy shallows. It is found everywhere, especially loves western waters and the source of the Chulyshman River. She is caught on spinning all year round. In summer, she goes to baits, artificial or natural, and in winter to baits or spinners. Perch up to 800 grams in weight is best caught at the source of the Chulyshman River on live bait or on a worm, and in winter on a small lure.

Coming to rest on Lake Teletskoye in Altai, you can stay at a hotel, at a recreation center, in tourist complex or visit the cordon.

Features of fishing on Lake Teletskoye

Fishing on the lake is not industrial in nature. Permitted only on the left side of the lake. The right one belongs to the Altai State Reserve. Only a fine pecks. They fish for 14 species of fish both from the shore and from a boat.

Burbot– trophy of Teletskoye Lake

Locals brag about how much it is, and you try to catch it! Experienced fishermen said that better than burbot to catch on gear for bottom fish. In the people "donka". It bites the line, so a metal eyeliner and a massive load will not hurt. Best time for casting gear - early morning and late evening, when the lake predator goes hunting. He is not comfortable in the heat, but at the end of October and November there is a plentiful bite.

Whitefish- "early bird"

Catch "Teletskaya herring" in June? Not tired of waiting? At this time, the whitefish has a lot of additional food, and he will have no time to be distracted by hooks with dough or worms. In the early spring morning, the whitefish will be waiting for you on the lake. Grab small mormyshki and note the time. Did you know that the Teletsky whitefish is not found in other water bodies of the world?

Pike- Queen of Teletsk fishing

To lure a pike out of lake pits, snags and dense vegetation is a matter of honor for a fisherman. With the help of an ultrasonic echo sounder, the terrain is explored, but the romance of fishing is also reduced to nothing. Take the advice of experienced fishermen and follow the surface of the lake. When the wind blows and ripples form on the water, highlight the place where the waves beat against each other. Most likely, there is a snag at the bottom where the pike is hiding, and throw the bait there!

Taimen is the head of everything

The average weight of the largest fish in Lake Teletskoye is 1-5 kg. Imagine a foal, trophies of this size are found in the lake. From May to June, the taimen spawns. Hungry looking for prey, then the bite begins. Explore the places where rivers flow into the lake. There the taimen "falls down" after the spawning period.

Fish for West Siberian grayling, dace, perch and bream. Rest assured that you will enjoy fishing and the discovery of new areas in the pearl of Altai.

teletskoye lake- blue pearl Altai. The lake is one of the 15 deepest lakes in the world. About 70 mountain rivers and streams flow into the lake, which fill the lake with crystal clear and icy water. The area of the lake is 223 sq. km, average width - 3.2 km, length - about 80 km, maximum depth - 325 m. summer time the upper layers of water can warm up to +10 degrees, and the coastal strip up to +20 degrees. All these conditions affected the formation of the ichthyofauna of the lake. IN teletskoye lake There are fourteen species of fish, two of which are endemic, i.e. are not found in other water bodies of the world, these are Teletsky whitefish and Pravdina whitefish, but the lake is not famous for this, but for its other inhabitant - taimen, or, as it is also called "mountain" taimen. This fish deserves a separate story. This circumstance makes fishing on Teletskoye lake attractive for trophy collectors and exotic fishing enthusiasts.

Both Lake Teletskoye itself and its main inhabitant, the taimen, are surrounded by various legends and myths. The lake attracts lovers of the ancients and legends, What are the legends about and, the entrance to which is supposedly located on Teletskoye lake. For lovers of exotic and trophy fishing, the legend of the Tsar fish, a huge taimen that lives in the mysterious waters of Lake Teletskoye, will become a kind of Shambhala. Any local fisherman will tell you a lot of stories about the mysterious fish, most of which happened either to him or to his acquaintances.

(Siberian taimen) - the largest fish in Teletskoye lake and the most valuable, belongs to the salmon family. Individual specimens reach up to 1.5 meters in length and weigh up to 50-60 kilograms, sometimes up to 70-80 kg. The largest officially registered specimen was caught in 1944 in the river. Yenisei near Krasnoyarsk: at the age of 55, its length was about 1.5 m, and weight - 56 kg. The body of the taimen is “low”, long, somewhat compressed from the sides, the head is flat. The mouth is large, the teeth on the jaws and palate form a continuous strip. There are round dark spots on the sides and upper part of the head, dark crescent spots on the sides of the body. The coloring of taimen matches this fish. Greenish-brown body with pink, and during the spawning period bright red, fins. Taimen is distributed throughout the lake, but in the Chulyshman delta, in the Kamga and Kyga bays, it is much more abundant. Spawning in May-early June. Taimen spawn mainly in rivers and streams flowing into the lake. The main part of the Telet taimen spawns in the rivers Kygu, Kamgu and Koldor. After spawning, the taimen dumps into the mouths of the rivers and the lake itself. In a short period after spawning, at the end of June, an active biting of taimen is observed. This is due to the so-called zhor after spawning. This period, as well as September and October, are considered the most favorable for fishing for taimen.

It is worth considering that in 1996, in order to preserve the taimen population, it was included in the Red Book of the Republic, and in 1998 - in the Red Book of the Altai Territory. In recent years, amateurs have been banned from catching this fish. Therefore, in order to avoid various excesses, it is recommended to catch taimen according to the principle - caught and released.

Teletsky grayling(West Siberian grayling) - a representative of the grayling family, the salmon genus. This fast fish living in cold and clear waters saturated with oxygen. Very sensitive to water quality. The hallmark of the grayling is an unusually beautiful dorsal fin, resembling a sail, which can fold and straighten, and round multi-colored spots on the fin make it also look like a peacock's tail. The body of the grayling is oblong, greenish or bluish-silver, with black spots on the back, silvery, with a purple tint on the sides and belly, the upper fin is large, flowery-bright, pectoral and ventral red or yellow, anal and caudal purple, adipose fin, small head, upper mouth. Grayling is distributed throughout Teletskoye lake, the main mass, which adheres to the mouths of rivers flowing into the lake.
Grayling is not picky about food. Its diet can be made up of various benthic organisms: gammarus crustaceans, mollusks, larvae and other forms of insects developing in water (mayflies, stoneflies, caddisflies); as well as various terrestrial insects that accidentally fell into the water: grasshoppers, cicadas, gadflies, midges, ants. The grayling will not refuse to feast on fish caviar. Large individuals can eat juveniles of other fish. Cases of attacks of large graylings on small mammals (voles, shrews, etc.) are possible. Accordingly, based on the gastronomic preferences of grayling, its fishing is organized. Both natural baits (mayflies, stoneflies, grasshoppers, flies, gadflies, etc.) and artificial ones (various tricks, artificial flies, glitter, etc.) can serve as bait. Often, trophy specimens can peck at an artificial bait - a "mouse".

Rabalka for grayling interesting throughout the year, as it is a fairly active fish. The average body length is 25-30 cm, but larger individuals up to 45-50 centimeters, weighing up to 2-3 kilograms, can also be found. Spawning of grayling - in May, June. For spawning, he rushes into all the rivers that flow into the lake, and can also go down into the river. After spawning, the grayling falls back into the lake and fattens there for the entire time. Grayling has high taste qualities.

(lenok) - belongs to the salmon family, genus - Lenki. It looks like taimen, but in terms of taste it is much superior. big fish up to 70 cm in length and 5-6 kg in weight. Usually there are specimens weighing 3-4 kg. The body is wolfish, the snout is blunt, the mouth is small. The scales are small, the body color is dark brown or blackish with a golden sheen. The sides, dorsal and caudal fins are covered with small round dark spots. During the spawning period, there are large copper-red spots on the sides. It surpasses grayling and taimen in taste. Lenok starts spawning after the ice melts on Teletskoye lake at the end of April, May. Sexually mature rise to the upper reaches of rivers and streams flowing into the lake. Especially a lot comes into the rivers Samysh, Koldor, Kamga, Kokshi and Kyga. After spawning, lenok again rolls into the lake and leads an active lifestyle all year round. In the lake, lenok keeps in the coastal zone, rich in organic matter, in bays and estuaries. The lenok population in Lake Teletskoye is not numerous.

(Teletskaya herring) - belongs to the salmon family. It is endemic, i.e. occurs only in Teletskoye lake. locals they call it a herring, but, unlike herrings, the teletsky whitefish has an adipose fin, which is characteristic of the salmon family. This is the most numerous fish in the lake. The weight of a sexually mature Taurus whitefish reaches three kilograms. Body length up to 40-50 cm or more. The body is covered with silvery scales, has an external resemblance to a herring. In summer, when the upper layer of water warms up to 14-17 degrees, it sig zhivaet over the entire surface of the lake, collecting insects that have fallen on the water. Teletsky whitefish spawn in October and November. Whitefish form large aggregations before spawning. Especially a lot of whitefish is collected in the Kamginsky Bay and other places where it is much calmer during the autumn storms.

(teletsk sprat), or sizhok - refers to the smallest representatives of salmon living in Russia. Poorly studied. It is endemic and occurs only in Teletskoye lake and the river Biya. Whitefish was first discovered in 1940 and described in 1949 by G.D. Dulkeith. It is extremely rare, but in August Pravdin's whitefish gather in masses in the upper part of the Biya River, where it lingers for a short time and disappears again. Obviously, such an accumulation occurs before spawning, although the exact time has not been established. It has also not been established where it comes from here, whether it rises from the lower reaches or descends from the lake. This deep-water fish probably lives in the depths of the lake, rising to the surface in the second half of summer, where, like the Teletsky whitefish, it lives almost over the entire surface of the lake, mainly in its latitudinal part. The Pravdina whitefish feeds on zooplakton. The length of the body, covered with silvery scales with a beautiful bluish tint along the back, is up to 15-17 centimeters. During the period of accumulation and spawning, protection from poachers and a complete ban on fishing during that period are necessary. Included in the Red Book of the Republic Altai.

- the only freshwater representative of cod fish. Burbot prefers cold and clean water. Feeds on small invertebrates and fish. In Teletskoye Lake the burbot population is quite numerous. This is a large, deep-sea, demersal fish. It can descend to a depth of 100 meters or more. The size of burbot varies from 0.3 to 1.2 m. Weight can reach 10 kg. The color of the burbot is yellowish-gray speckled, but depending on the environment, the color of the water and the soil, it can be dark gray speckled. Burbot spawns in January-March. It is well caught on lines and small baubles. An excellent bait for catching burbot is considered to be ruff, or cutting fresh fish. Contrary to the prevailing opinion that burbot fishing is ineffective in summer, on Lake Teletskoye fishing for burbot- throughout the year, this is primarily due to the fact that the water in the lake does not rise above 10 degrees, which favorably affects the nutrition of fish. Burbot is distributed throughout the lake, especially numerous in the southern part of the lake. Ear from fresh burbot is considered one of the most delicious, if you do not take into account the fat from sturgeon fish.

- a member of the carp family. The locals mistakenly call him a chebak. An adult dace reaches a body length of up to 23 centimeters, a weight of up to 200 grams or more. The body is covered with dark silvery scales. The dace has a semi-lower mouth and feeds at the bottom on pusher mosquito larvae (bloodworms) and other insects, as well as diatoms. During the period of mass departure of pusher mosquitoes, mayflies, or in cases when insects are washed away and blown into the water from coastal bushes by rain and wind, the dace feeds on them, rising to the upper layers of the water. Yelets is a schooling fish, does not make large movements. As a rule, in the morning the dace go out to the nearest rift, and in the evening they go down to the pits or to deeper places under the shore. Sometimes they accumulate on the spawning grounds of other fish and eat the eggs laid by them. The dace has no commercial value. But fishing with his rod is of a certain sporting interest. Despite the abundance of dace, it is not so easy to catch it. The dace is a fast and agile fish. The bite of the dace is quite sharp, and it must be cut sharply, and not sweepingly. Dace fishing quite a fun activity. Dace in Teletskoye lake keeps mainly in the southern part of the lake and only on a short time runs to the source of the river. Spawning in May, June. The main habitat is Kyga Bay. For wintering, dace enters the river, where, clinging to the ground, spends the winter without eating.

- a member of the pike family. The body of the pike is torpedo-shaped, the head is large, the mouth is wide, which sharply distinguishes it from other types of fish. The maximum length of a pike can reach 1.5 m and weight up to 35 kg, but, as a rule, the weight reaches eleven kilograms and the length is about 1 m. The color of the pike is variable and depends on the environment. Depending on the nature and degree of development of vegetation, it can be gray-greenish, gray-yellowish, gray-brown, the back is darker, the sides with large brown or olive spots that form transverse stripes. Unpaired fins are yellowish-gray, brown with dark spots; paired - orange. Pike spawning in Lake Teletskoye is very fast in the second half of May. For spawning, pike goes to shallow shallows flooded by spring floods, and here mass spawning takes place in the grass for 4-6 days. Pike lives throughout the lake, but mostly in the Kamginsky, Kyginsky bays, in the delta Chulyshman river and in the westernmost part of the lake, where there is shallow water and a lot of algae.
