Modern donka. Ways to rig a bottom fishing rod. Electronic bite alarm

Running donka is actually not such a rare occupation. For example, in the circles of fishermen of the Khariuzatniks there is such a term -. And this is nothing more than one of the options for bottom tackle, when the load (Tyrolean stick, ordinary lead casting) goes along the bottom, and “flies” attached to the leashes or an animal nozzle near the bottom at a given distance.

In most cases, bottom fishing is associated with fishing, when several hooks are placed along the coast, gatehouses are set up and the fisherman, being in close proximity, stubbornly waits for a bite. So, for example, I prefer to fish in late autumn or early spring.

The method is quite effective when you know the water area, places of concentration or the path of the fish. Of the minuses, I can only note the necessary binding to one point and the frequency of unraveling, since before casting the entire working length of the fishing line, the bottom sleep is laid out on the shore.

And, perhaps, I fish in the dark. Since usually fishing for snacks starts in the evening and lasts until the morning.

But not all fish lead an active nocturnal lifestyle, and it would be a sin to focus only on catching, say, burbot. Large horned, perch, dace, bream or crucian carp are caught during daylight hours. There are, of course, some seasonal preferences for fish, but there is only one tactic - active sea fishing with a bottom.

You walk along the bank, make stops in promising places and, if there are bites, you linger.

What is a good running donka?

  • There is no binding to one section of the coastline.
  • There is always an opportunity for experimentation - the replacement of components and nozzles (bait) takes place in a short time.
  • Absolutely any fish is caught.
  • There are no frills in gear, unlike the same jig, twitching, feeder ().

Rod selection

I don’t think that a running donk deserves to buy a separate spinning kit. Unless, of course, you are determined to participate in competitions, where from what to catch depends on success. Therefore, for an ordinary fishing enthusiast, an ordinary stick is quite suitable - aluminum or carbon, it doesn’t matter. The main thing is that it meets certain criteria.

I will not hide that we will not take spinning rods for twitching and jig for this type of fishing. Love for these rods is boundless and we cherish and care for them. But in stock there is an old rod, from which the passion for spinning fishing once began.

Why spinning and not a fishing rod? The rod is less versatile in use. Feeder connoisseurs may disagree, but sorry - this is purely my opinion.

Spinning for running donkey in my understanding should be:

  • Fast.
  • Not less than 240 centimeters, but not more than 270 in length.
  • Able to work with a load of up to 50 grams.
  • The presence of an inertialess coil. It is also easier for a beginner to manage.

With such characteristics of the stick, it is possible to catch quite large and strong fish at a sufficient distance from the shore.

Installation of equipment for running donkey

The line is monofilament. Not thicker than 0.4 mm in diameter. I will explain this by the fact that somehow it has not yet been possible to catch monsters for a bunch of kilograms. Usually a fish on average from 400 grams to 1.5 kilograms. This is a sorog, perch, bream, whitefish. But a margin of safety for playing a fish of 3-5 kg is quite enough. The main thing is not to tear, but to tire and bring the opponent caught on the hook to the shore.

There were cases when large burbots took the nozzle during the day and even taimen coveted a bunch of loaches. There have been no breaks yet. Unless only with a dead hook.

In the simple version, which allows you to successfully catch the representatives of the ichthyofauna mentioned above, the bottom tackle looks like this, so to speak, “in a clumsy way”.

A load commensurate with the fishing condition is tied to the end of the main fishing line. For fishing in stagnant waters, it is easier than for fishing in the current. Unless, of course, you are going to catch a donk in the wiring. In this case, the weight of the sinker is selected more accurately. For convenience, as an option, I can advise you to pick up a Tyrolean wand. Its permeability in difficult conditions the bottom is difficult to overestimate.

The form of cargo for the most fishing does not really matter. But I noticed that the ebb of the lead "spoon" is superior in cross-country ability and has fewer hooks than all other variations.

Homemade end rigs are attached to the main line through a swivel.

Leads with a hook can be tied directly to the main line, but in the proposed version, the advantage will be the ability to replace the leash, if necessary, without breaking and re-tying. since the leash will be attached in the “loop to loop” way.

For a leash, a smaller diameter fishing line is taken. 0.2-0.22 mm is enough. About 20 cm long.

The hook is selected directly under the object of fishing.

In working condition, the load lies on the bottom, and the hooks with a nozzle located above lure the passing fish. Do not think that the leashes are short and located too close to the bottom. Everything works great.

Spring is the best time to use this installation of a running donkey. In the muddy water of the reservoir, the fish tends to the relief of the reservoir.

We stood or sat on the bank for 10-15 minutes, watched the gatehouse or the tip of the spinning rod - there is no bite, then we transfer it to another place. And so we comb the coastline.

Attaching leashes with hooks above the load is more interesting for me. I don’t use nods at the tip of the spinning and I determine the bite of the fish by the deviation of the tulip itself and tangible jerks. As an option for attaching leashes - leashes below the sinker. With this installation, it is possible to refuse the load and the feeder will take its place on the equipment.

I'm not sure that running fishing will be more effective if you also carry bait with you. At least for fishing on the course, it will tie up fishing. For lakes, ponds - as an option. But in this case, why not go to the feeder?

Do not try to throw the equipment as far as possible. Fish can be located at a considerable distance, and close to the shore.

The proposed above version of the so-called blind bottom tackle when the cargo is at one point on the bottom. If the fishing conditions allow, then it makes sense to use a different type of running donkey - “pokatuha”. In this case, the sinker (picked olive or Tyrolean stick) in slow pace passes through the bottom. This is a catch option. on the bottom in the wiring.

The throw is made against the current. Under the influence of the movement of water, the rig travels its way, all the way to the shore below the angler. Then everything repeats. At the same time, the fishing area increases and, as a result, we find the location of the fish.

Is it really necessary to use beads, carbines, cambrics in the mood of the running donks? A specific answer is unlikely to follow. Different regions of the country have their own preferences and, over time, the nuances of attitudes that have entered.

I'm used to using simple rigs on the Angara, and bottom rigging is no exception. Extra links often lead to negative consequences.

The same goes for the number of hooks. It is inappropriate to put more than two. In case of failure, pulling a stuck hook out of your finger is not enough joy. It will be small, for a path, or large for burbot - there is not much difference.

As for the choice of nozzle, we again determine the desired production. Earthworm, maggot, bark beetle - this is for catching relatively small fish. If the goal is larger prey, then the presence of live bait from fry or loach (lamprey), a good sandwich of worms. If we take into account the running bottom for live bait fishing, then there are some nuances in the supply of tackle and installation, but everything is not critical and the angler is able to notice and correct it in the process of fishing.

In principle, the running donka is the same kind fishing like all the others. Experiments with the installation of bottom gear, nozzles and baits, methods of supply and tactics for fishing the reservoir - as expected. The more often - the more experience, the more experience - the more interesting and successful fishing.

No tail, no scales. Regards, Oleg

Bottom fishing rods have been used by anglers for a long time, and it so happened that in most cases this catchy tackle in various versions is made independently. How to make a donkey with your own hands, our today's article will tell.

Types of donok

Almost all types of donok used in modern fishing, except for the feeder, are self-made. More details about the various gear for bottom fishing are described in this article, but here we will only briefly list those that we will do with our own hands.

So, a story about how to make a donkey, let's talk about its types:

  • zakidushka and postavush;
  • elastic;
  • donka with a rod.

Making a snack and postavushi

These two bottom gear considered classic. We combined them into one chapter, since the fishing rods differ only in the way they are caught, and they are identical in installation.

We start the collection of the donkey with the choice of a suitable reel for the donkey, on which the rest of the equipment is collected, stored and transported.

When installing a reel, it is desirable to provide for the possibility of its fastening on the shore, for example, using a riveted skewer.

Reels are used from a variety of materials, whoever has what is at hand. For example:

  • sawn out of plywood or a wooden board;
  • cut out of polystyrene or polystyrene;
  • bent from metal smooth reinforcing wire;
  • use purchased plastic models.

Advice! If you're going to take donks seriously, treat reel-making with due respect and make it quality!

Many anglers rig their rigs onto large Nevskoy inertial donkey reels attached to a metal post.

Donka, equipped with a large reel, is more mobile in use than tackle with a reel.

main line

After you have decided and made the base of the donkey in the form of a reel or a structure with a reel, proceed to winding the fishing line. The equipment of the donkey must be strong and strong, therefore, a monofilament from 0.30 millimeters in diameter to 0.45 is used as the basis. The first option is used for fishing in stagnant water bodies, the second - in the current.

The amount of fishing line depends on the distance at which you plan to fish. For someone, 20 meters is enough, for another, 50 will not be enough, calculate for yourself.

Leads with hooks

The number of leashes used on homemade snacks rarely exceeds five. You should not chase after the quantity, keeping in mind that extra hooks interfere with the equipment of the fishing rod, and hooks when fishing will be more likely.

It is best if the leashes are mounted on a separate insert in the form of a so-called garland. On both sides they are equipped with carabiners with swivel for fastening to the main line for quick replacement. The diameter of the fishing line should be chosen 0.02 mm thinner than that of the base.

It is best to knit leashes to the insert using the loop-in-loop method or a running knot. Read more about this in the article "How to knit leashes." The thickness of the lead line depends on the intended trophy: from 0.10 millimeters for catching roach, up to 0.25 for hunting burbot or carp.

To prevent overlapping of the leashes, mounting with beads is used, between which the leashes are placed.

Attention! To prevent the donkey leads from overlapping each other, the distance between the mounting points must be greater than the sum of their lengths.

The choice of hook depends on what kind of fish you plan to catch and on what baits. For fishing for bloodworms or maggots, the smallest models are used; for fishing for live bait, doubles or tees are used.

Sinker

The sinker is selected from the following considerations:

  • it must securely hold the tackle at the point of fishing;
  • be convenient for casting from the hand to the optimal distance.

You can tie the sinker to the snap directly or through a carabiner. In the second option, you can quickly change it to a feeder or a model of a different weight and shape.

When catching peaceful fish on a homemade donk, you can use equipment not only with a load, but also with a feeder. This element is especially important when catching carp fish on various kinds of smoktuhi.

When fishing for smoktukha, foam balls are often caught on hooks.

Bite alarms

To signal a bite on the donkey, various sound or visual devices are installed:

  • bells;
  • bells;
  • pendulums;
  • electronic devices;
  • fireflies.

This device combines audio and visual signals.

How to assemble a rubber band?

In order to correctly assemble a donk with a rubber shock absorber, you need to take into account all the recommendations related to the classic donk-snack, and the presence of an additional elastic element.

After winding the main line on the reel or spool and attaching the garland with leashes to the snap, a rubber shock absorber is mounted. Its diameter and length are selected depending on such factors:

  1. The reservoir on which fishing will be carried out. Naturally, on major river the diameter of the rubber and its length will be greater than when fishing at a bet.
  2. The size of the expected production. A thin elastic band for crucian carp will not work when hunting for carp, pike, burbot.
  3. The length of the working line, it should be 2–2.5 times longer than the shock absorber.
  4. The method of delivering tackle to the reservoir. When casting the gum from the hand, short shock absorbers are used; when imported from a boat, the length can be increased multiple times.

Attention! Experienced "rubbers" distinguish shock absorbers and the degree of elasticity. They choose such parameters of the shock absorber, in which the tackle works as a self-cutting device when biting.

It is important to learn how to properly tie an elastic band to a snap. It is not attached directly to the fishing line in order to avoid tearing, but is mounted through a swivel or a thick nylon thread.

The loops on the elastic are made with the usual double knot.

Also, at the beginning of the shock absorber, a foam float is mounted if it is planned to raise the leashes with hooks relative to the bottom. This is useful when silty ground, thick grass or pelagic fish such as sabrefish.

At the second far end of the rubber shock absorber, you need to tie a load. You can do this directly, but it is best to use the so-called cargo leash made of thick kapron cord. This will protect the rubber from premature rupture.

In the same place, a buoy is attached, which in our time is used as an ordinary plastic "one and a half". A buoy is needed to determine the location of the cargo in order to extract gear brought into the reservoir on a floating craft.

Donka on a rod

With the appearance on the market fishing reels it became possible to make long-range casting of bottom gear. In addition, the use of a rod made it possible to increase the accuracy of throws. Now the bait is delivered almost to one point with a small spread over the area.

To create a donkey of this type, a strong rod up to four meters long is used. As it can be used:

  • telescopic rod;
  • Chinese spinning type "crocodile";
  • rod with auto hook function.

The function of the hook on the fishing rod is performed by a powerful spring.

Attention! The auto-hooking rod is easy to assemble yourself. There are corresponding drawings and diagrams on the Internet.

A donkey reel is installed on the selected rod. Most often today, inertialess is used, but there are amateurs who prefer the good old inertial model.

In size, the inertialess meat grinder is selected in 3000–5000 units in order to accommodate a sufficient amount of thick fishing line. Most often, a monofilament 0.30–0.35 mm thick is chosen as the base. However, if the elegance of gear is important in the case of catching medium-sized fish, the diameter can be reduced to 0.20-0.25 millimeters.

To increase the sensitivity of the gear, you can use the feeder option, in which a thin braid is used in combination with a monofilament shock leader. Approximate average diameters in millimeters are as follows:

  • braided cord - 0.14–0.20;
  • monofilament nylon - 0.25–0.30.

Donkey equipment on the rod can be any. It depends on the conditions of the reservoir, the type of intended trophy and the personal preferences of the angler. Here are the main installations:

  • loop feeder equipment;
  • paternoster;
  • inline simple and with tap;
  • helicopter;
  • garland;
  • smoktuha.

Depending on the direction of fishing, sinkers or feeders are used in the donk. Their weight and shape are chosen depending on such conditions:

  1. The presence of a current and its strength - flattened models with a large weight are used on the river.
  2. The type of fish - they usually do not put a feeder on a predator.
  3. Pond bottom structures - a heavy feeder can sink into soft silt.
  4. The desired casting distance.

Bullet feeders have a special range.

Leashes and hooks in spinning donks are used according to the same principle as for other gear, depending on the fish and the bait that they are going to catch.

Advice! For live bait fishing, it is advisable to use a metal leash, this will protect the tackle from the sharp teeth of the pike.

Bottom rigs for carp

Regardless of the type of donok, they can use the same equipment. Often this folk tackle is used to catch carp, sometimes bottom fish show results. In this they are helped by a simple home-made equipment - smoktukha, a feeder with several leashes.

Fishing with this type of feeders is based on the carp's love to thoroughly savor the offered treat. In the process of absorbing delicious bait by the fish, it is constantly interfered with inappropriately hanging hooks nearby, so you have to swallow them in order to throw them out through the gills.

Smoktuhi have several manufacturing options depending on the bait used:

  • crown;
  • spring-nipple;
  • the spoon;
  • banjo.

Attention! In the modern feeder there is also an analogue of smoktukha. I call such a feeder method or flat. The main difference is that there is only one leash with a hook.

The basis of the gear is a piece of sunflower cake (makukha) attached to a lead plate. 4-5 short leashes are attached to the same plate. Sometimes foam balls are attached to the hooks, which prevent the carp from enjoying delicious food.

When fishing in the current or to increase the sensitivity of the gear, anglers sometimes spread a piece of cake and a sinker between themselves, mounting the latter with a sliding one.

This type of feeder is used when bait is used in the form of steeply cooked porridge. There are two types of spring used: loaded with lead or without load. In the second variant, the load is attached to the end of the fishing line or mounted above it as a sliding one.

Three short leashes is the optimal number for a spring nipple.

If any dough is used as bait, for example, mastyrka or hominy, the best option snap will be a feeder, called a spoon. In some cases, a real cutlery acts as a basis.

A spring is soldered or riveted to the base to hold the bait and several leashes are tied.

The advantage of a spoon is excellent gliding along the bottom of the reservoir and a quick ascent when playing. This additionally protects the equipment from breakage.

Another variation of smoktukha is the banjo. It is a cork from a large bottle or canister, weighted with a lead plate.

In the side ribs of the cork, two holes are made diametrically, through which a plastic tube is inserted with glue or soldering. The main fishing line is passed through the tube of the feeder, after which a leash is attached at the exit. The feeder itself is filled with sticky bait of any type.

In equipping a banjo feeder, it is not advisable to use more than two leashes.

The feeder feeder method has absorbed the best of the "folk" smoktuh:

  • from the crown got a plate for loading;
  • from the spoon she received the form:
  • from a spring - a way to hold bait;
  • from the banjo - a tube and a mounting method.

The result is a catchy and sporty rig. Unlike its predecessors, only one leader is used in flat feeder rigs.

The feeder method is completed with a special mandrel for the formation of a tubercle of bait.

Conclusion

As we can see, making a donkey with your own hands is not at all difficult. There are a lot of options for this catchy tackle, to make it truly universal, use different kinds equipment, leashes, feeders. Prepare for replacement various options better at home.

Donka is a common design for catching fish. You will learn everything about bottom gear in this article.

Initially, it was a hand tackle without reels and a rod. After a feeder appeared, which included the missing parts. The efficiency of catching has increased several times, as it has become easier to pull fish out of the water.

For a good catch, you need several gear. Their number may exceed ten. To prevent the line from getting tangled, the distance between the baits in the water should be more than 5 meters. Carp and catfish are often caught on bottom gear. The fish are quite large, so fix the rod well.

How does it work

Bottom tackle - a rod fixed on the shore. Throw bait into the water. As soon as the fish gets caught, hook. For efficiency, professionals use signaling devices and feeders. As signaling devices choose:

  1. Bells.
  2. Electronic signaling devices.
  3. Bells.
  4. Rod. In this case, the tip of the fishing rod begins to bend. Good for feeders. This version of the signaling device is intended for fishing during the daytime, since it is difficult to see the bending of the rod tip at night.

Where to fish

Choose a place without underwater snags and plants. The bottom type can be anything except stone. It is more efficient to fish at night. Catching places near dams or bridges, there is always more food.

fishing technique

The bait is thrown by hand. Swing the sinker like a pendulum. Before casting, unwind the fishing line by folding it into rings. Then, in reverse order, shift in such a way that the tackle during the cast throws off the upper ring, and not the lower one.

donkey rig

An essential part of any bottom rod- sinker. Its weight affects the casting distance of the lure. When choosing, consider:

  1. Flow speed.
  2. The depth of the river.
  3. The type of fish you are catching.

The sinker should securely fix the bait and not cling to stones, algae and snags. Round and oval shapes are popular. The material for manufacturing is lead.

The number of leashes depends on the type of tackle. If the type is classic, two leashes are installed. One is above the sinker and the other is below. The average thickness of the fishing line is 0.4 mm.

Any rod will do. Length from 3 to 5 meters. The choice of coil does not really matter. The main thing is that it be strong and be able to wind 100 meters of fishing line.

Do-it-yourself bottom tackle is easy to assemble. But you can buy a ready-made design in a fishing store. Many fishermen buy a ready-made structure, and then remake it at their discretion.

Donkey types

There are several donkey options:

  1. Normal. The main thing in this design is the sinker. The casting distance of the bait depends on it. These rods have two leads. One is above the sinker and the other is below.
  2. Chassis. From a strong current, the bait will move. Good for catching a predator.
  3. Donka with rubber shock absorber. A rubber insert is placed between the fishing line and the sinker. This type of bottom rod is used for catching shy fish. It provides silent casting of the bait.
  4. Donka with a feeder. The feeder performs two roles - it lures fish and serves as a load.
  5. Zakidka. Allows you to make long casts. The bait is constantly in one place without moving. This design is effective if you don't have a rod.

Donka-zadukushka

To make a do-it-yourself snack, you will need:

  1. Line of a certain thickness.
  2. Lead weights.
  3. Leash.
  4. Hooks.
  5. Bite alarms. You can use bells.

If there is no rod, a regular stick, pointed on one side, will do. For catching large fish, choose a strong stick and a secure mount. The line will need to be thick. A suitable diameter is 0.5 mm. The length must be no more than 50 meters. The zakidushka is not thrown too far. The size and weight of the sinker depends on the current. The stronger it is, the heavier the sinker needs to be. The popular oval and round sinkers will not work if there is a lot of silt at the bottom of the river. In such cases, use square ones.

Do not install more than 4 leashes with hooks on the back. This will lead to permanent hooks. The size of the hook directly depends on the fish you want to catch.

Donka with rubber shock absorber

A shock absorber is needed to silently throw the bait into the pond. A simple rubber band is sometimes used as a shock absorber. Depreciation Benefits:

  1. The bait can be cast in one place.
  2. You will be able to throw tackle silently.
  3. Good for both big and small fish.
  4. You can attach multiple leashes.
  5. A large number of leashes will increase the number of fish caught.

The tackle consists of:

  1. Lines 0.4 mm thick.
  2. Several leashes.
  3. Rubber bands about 10 meters long.
  4. Sinker, which will be fixed on a nylon thread.
  5. Insurance, which will be made of fishing line 0.6 mm thick.

Snap with spring

The spring is one of the common types of fish feeders because it is easy to install. In this case, the bait is always next to the hook, so the number of bites increases. As bait use:

  1. Boiled cereal.
  2. Rusks.
  3. Bread.

The groundbait mixture must be viscous so that balls can be made from it. It should be held in a spring and not crumble when it hits the water.

Choose a dense bait so that it does not wash off with water during the current.

Running donk

This design provides for a bait that does not lie on the bottom, but slowly moves forward. For this, flow is used. This type of tackle is suitable for predatory fish. For fishing you need:

  1. Very strong current.
  2. Absence of snags and stones.
  3. Flat bottom without holes.

The length of the rod is about 3 meters. There is only one lead. It is preferable to use a round or oval sinker so that it can roll along the bottom.

Cast the bait against the current. The sinker will begin to roll along the bottom. The bite is determined by the tip of the rod.

Donka with a feeder

The feeder increases the catch and at the same time is a sinker. To mount the bottom gear you will need:

  • (homemade or purchased).
  • Fishing line 0.4 mm thick (since the load on the tackle will be high).
  • Hooks (sharp and large, as this tackle is designed for catching large fish). Several hooks of different classes are sometimes attached to the fishing line.
  • Sinker. A suitable shape is an oval or a circle. Weight from 50 to 100 grams. The higher the current, the heavier the load.

The equipment is knitted both on the main part of the fishing line, and on its separate piece. First, put a sinker on the fishing line, then a bead that will protect the knot from damage. Above the load, a stopper is sometimes put on to adjust the free play of the load. To prevent the line from twisting when playing, professionals use a swivel, to the clasp of which a feeder is attached. Equip the feeder with leashes. Their optimal length is 3-5 cm.

Donkey feeders are purchased at fishing stores or do it yourself. As bait, bread, peas, canned corn, dough, plasticine or mastyrka are used.

Installation of the donkey will not take much time, and the quality of the catch with homemade tackle can improve significantly.

The difference between a donkey and a feeder tackle.

Feeder is one of the options for bottom gear, which has some differences:

  1. For donkey use a telescopic rod. Feeder rods have a set of different tips.
  2. When using a feeder, the bite is determined by the tip of the rod. Donkeys need signaling devices.
  3. It is easier to catch on a donk, because the fish are spotted on their own. But the catch is greater when using a feeder.
  4. For feeder rods, loose food is suitable, which is quickly washed out. Donka needs a thick bait.

What is donka and bottom fishing. How to make donka. Sinker for donkey. Bite alarm. Tips and nuances of fishing on the donk. Donkey rigging methods. Donka with a float

I welcome you, dear fishermen, on the pages of the site site! Today I would like to talk about donkey and bottom fishing. Naturally, I will not be able to cover all its possible varieties and methods of fishing within the framework of this article. I also will not claim that I have fully mastered all the ways of donk fishing (its various types and modifications), but there is still some experience. In this article I will tell you only about how to make the simplest and most common donk, I will give the knowledge I have accumulated about bottom fishing and its modifications, I will give a couple of interesting tips, in general, everything that I myself successfully use.

So, let's begin …

Description, schemes, equipment options and donk fishing

I'll start by telling you how to make a donkey at home, and not buy it in stores.

Donka is perhaps one of the most popular tackle for catching fish. Therefore, to begin with, I decided to talk about the simplest version of the donkey. A simple donk does not mean at all that few people can be caught on it, a lot can be caught on such tackle. Therefore, remember, collect and go fishing.

What is required for donkey

To do this, we need the main fishing line 0.4 mm thick, as well as a fishing line for leashes 0.2-0.3 mm, 5 carp hooks, an olive sinker 50-70 grams, one fishing carabiner.

How to assemble a donkey

So, let's start assembling a simple donkey. To begin with, we will tie leashes from a fishing line 7-10 cm long to the hooks. All leashes must be tied to the hooks with a figure-eight knot. Next, we take the main fishing line and at the end we tie an “olive” load to it, also using the “eight” knot. We retreat along the fishing line 30-35 cm and knit the first leash with a hook. We retreat another 10 cm along the fishing line and tie the next hook. And so is everyone else. After all the hooks are tied, we retreat another 15 cm and tie our carabiner with the same knot. It looks like this:

All! Donka is ready! We fasten with a carabiner to a fishing line on a rod, you can use a reel or a slingshot, it doesn’t matter, you can even tie it to a tree. Bait, cast and catch.

Donkey sinker

Continuing the topic of assembling a donkey, I would like to express my opinion on which sinkers are preferable to use in the middle course, provided that the bottom of the river is not even, but with stones and bumps. Of course, I am clearly and clearly aware that my notes in no way claim to be absolutely correct, accurate and correct, but for about 4 years I have been fishing with this method and achieving quite good results in comparison with my colleagues who fish in the usual way.
It is enough to go to any fishing store, where you will be competently advised on the method of setting up any bottom gear and the method of choosing gear. It's no secret that everything affects the final result when fishing from the bottom: the bait, the size and shape of the hooks, the length of the leash and the diameter of the line, both main and leash. It is important to understand that even the rod itself and the method of fixing the bite play an important role.

A separate topic is sinkers, which can be of different shapes, serve as a feeder and many other functions. But I noticed that in a moderate current, the mass of the load can be somewhat reduced, without damage to the tackle. But if this is done by the usual replacement of the sinker, then such a load will simply be carried away by the current, it will roll along the bottom, even if the latter has bumps and protrusions. In this case, you will have to return to a heavier sinker and be content with what you have. Accordingly, at one time I thought that it was necessary to give the sinker properties so that it could, as it were, cling to the protrusions of the bottom, lie on it.

So, if you use a sinker mount on the bottom gear at the end of the fishing line, and there are hooks above, if you know that there are stones at the bottom, the bottom is sandy or with frequent protrusions, then instead of a heavier load, you can put a lighter sinker, but of a round shape with "donut hole". This hole will act as a retainer, and quite reliable, the sinker will not be blown away by the flow of the current, since the area of \u200b\u200bcontact of water with the surface of the load is smaller. Thus, I was able to reduce the weight of the sinker from 50 grams to 35, which is significant. It seems to me that for many fishermen this will be useful.

Bite alarm, bell or whip

Some anglers wonder what is better to use as a bite indicator when fishing on a regular donk (feeder).

If you omit some sophisticated electronic devices, then you can safely voice two main methods: using a bell or a pendulum (which bends the fishing line with its weight, and by raising or lowering these parts, the fisherman decides to hook), and without any special suspended parts, only along the tip (first knee, thin whip) of the rod.

In principle, both methods have proven themselves well, and I personally know the adherents of one or the other. But, there are some peculiarities. So, in my opinion, with the help of a bell or other suspended element, it is easier to track the bite. This is especially true when the fish bite is sluggish, without sharp jerks, and the wind is outside. So, once I caught a crucian, which slowly lowered the pendulum, but it was problematic to trace the bite with a whip. Of course, many may object that today you can buy donkey whips of various thicknesses, that you can buy special feeder rods ... But is it worth it when you fish for donkey once a month, or even two?

A difficult question, everyone decides for himself, but I decided to use an ordinary bell. In addition, I have two thin whips in my stock, which I also use after tying them to the main rod.

Bite alarm in the current

Again, all the advantages of the bell tackle come to naught if the fishing is in the current. The fishing line is simply stretched and catching with a bell or some other load is not convenient, although, with some desire, it is possible. In this situation, the advantages of the whip are fully revealed. As I said, you can buy a special feeder rod, which comes with several whips of different thicknesses and lengths, however, you will have to pay a little for everything good. I did not buy such a rod, but purchased the whips separately, and if necessary I attach them to the rod - everything works fine, you can see the bite, although the tackle itself does not look very aesthetically pleasing.

Naturally, I'm not talking about how to fix the whips, how to install the bell (and there are a lot of attachment options) - this is a separate conversation. The main thing is that you have an understanding that you need to master both methods of fishing, because you never know where you will have to fish next time.

On the rivers, I take my spinning rod, with which I go for pike, and, depending on the strength of the current, I adapt a whip of the required stiffness to it (or even fish without it). Once on the Volga, I even caught without an additional whip, since the current curved the spinning so much that the rod clearly reacted to the bite of even a medium-sized roach (note that the sinker was set at 40-50 grams).

Calm water bite alarm

For fishing on lakes where there is no current, I used to use an ordinary bottom with 1-2 hooks, sometimes I put a feeder, sometimes I tie a rubber shock absorber (fishing with an elastic band), but I always put a bell as a signaling device. I put my high chair to the left of the snack, so that the right hand is always literally above the working line, it’s convenient to hook (for left-handers, the opposite is true).

As you can see, both methods are good, you need to own them, and there is no better among them. This is important to understand so as not to get into trouble when talking in a fishing store or among your colleagues. As they say, for each place, its tackle.

I often have to fish with a donk (bottom gear). Often it is an ordinary donk, the assembly process of which I described a little higher, sometimes I mount it on a peg, sometimes it is a feeder tackle. In general, if you look at the literature, you can find a lot of interesting things about bottom gear, and there are true specialists who fish only with this gear.

Therefore, I will try to give some tips for a “successful donkey”, or to be more precise, I will try to voice those nuances, observing which, you can somewhat improve your performance from using this tackle. As I said above, I will not talk about the intricacies of mounting all variations of tackle, since this is a very extensive material. Here I will give fairly universal points and some tricks that can be successfully adapted to any donk. Enough ranting, let's move on to the tips:

1 . Always use leashes

2 . Different fishing spots require different weights.

3 . Mounting the feeder (on a leash or on the main line)

4 . Sometimes you can fish without a feeder

5 . The food should not be too viscous.

6 . The color of the bait should match the bottom

7 . Proven baits: worm, bloodworm, maggot

8 . You need to have several nozzles and baits with you.

9 . A supply of fishing line on the reel (to cast to the right place)

10 . Prepare hook leashes in advance

11 . On muddy and rocky bottom - foam hooks

12 . It is advisable to put more than one hook (the first is closer to the bottom, the second is slightly higher)

13 . It is necessary to catch all parts of the reservoir (near the coast, medium depths, depth)

14 . Prepare a fishing spot in advance, especially if the casting comes from your hand

15 . Combine baits and baits, sandwiches sometimes give a good result.

16 . If there is no bite, do not rush to pull out the tackle and make a new cast - you can wind up the bottom a little and let it stand for another minute

17 . Movement provokes fish to bite

18 . In the current, the tackle can be rougher, because the fish attack there more actively.

19 . I put leashes at least 20 cm long.

20 . I prefer donkey hooks with a long forearm and a sting bent to the side.

21 . If it is possible to fish without a feeder (for example, bait can be cast from hand), I fish without a feeder, while the tackle becomes less noisy and noticeable.

22 . I always add various flavors to the bait - this allows you to attract fish, but not overfeed them.

23 . Use beads that absorb the impact of the load or feeder on the knots of the cord or fishing line (for a sliding type of mounting).

24 . If conditions and fishing technique allow, I refuse swivels and other metal parts of equipment.

Here, in principle, all the main tips and my best practices regarding catching the donk.

Donkey rigging methods

Now I will give a couple of ways to rig bottom gear:

As you can see, the basic recommendations and schemes are quite simple. But, I promise you, doing them will ensure that you stay with the fish (it helps me anyway). Naturally, each angler has his own experience and knowledge, you also need to remember about correct installation donki, constantly experiment. Then the mood will be great. Yes, and fishing will please with its result.

Donka with a float

Let's look at another way of rigging, this is a donk with a float. Small rivers are interesting in that the fisherman needs to apply his knowledge and skills to the maximum in order to really catch big fish. I noticed that even in very narrow "streams" there are such specimens that you simply wonder where such a fish comes from. But, at the same time, as I noted above, catching fish in small reservoirs and rivers is a difficult undertaking, since the fish in such places are quite shy and react to minimal changes in the environment, both in the water and within the reach of the fish above the surface of the water (study fish vision).

It is in such areas that the jigging summer tackle and the donka with a float, mounted on a telescopic rod, have proven themselves perfectly, which helps when you need to carefully approach the shore, disguise yourself, and determine a promising place, the depth of which rarely exceeds 1-2 meters.

Donkey scheme with a float

A bottom fishing rod with a float is a reality. The principle of such a donkey is as follows: in fact, it is an ordinary float rod, a sliding weight is used as a sinker (I use a cone-shaped sinker that does not drift away with the current). A bead or swivel serves as a latch for the load. The most interesting thing is that the float should only protrude slightly above the surface of the water. And if many anglers achieve this effect by raising and lowering the tip of the rod and simply adjusting the depth, I prefer to load the lower bobber antenna with shots.

Why load the float?

Everything is simpler than less fish will experience resistance when biting (and the sliding sinker already implies that there will be resistance), the more reliable and true the bite will be. Therefore, the float, which is additionally loaded, will become an insignificant obstacle for the fish, which is what the fisherman needs. Such a bottom fishing rod is also interesting because you can successfully catch it without even coming close to the shore, which, you see, sometimes plays a key role in fishing.

From my experience, I can say that using a donkey with a float, I caught both in the current and in standing water. I liked to catch on the course, because. fish grab the bait more greedily. The catch was mostly perch and roach. A couple of times I had to pull out the bream. So, try, master such a bottom fishing rod, and also do not forget about the mass of other variations of donoks with a float.

In principle, I think we can stop at this for now and draw some conclusions regarding the donkey. Which? Decide for yourself.

I perceive donka as a very diverse tackle, the variations of which are just a lot. Donkey fishing is an experiment where you can always change something, improve it. Use a float, a feeder, experiment with leads, hook placement, bait, play with depth, use a variety of rigging methods, and more. So study and go fishing.

All the best to you and good bottom fishing!

Bottom fishing has been one of the main types of amateur fishing for quite a long time. Despite the introduction of new and progressive fishing methods into fishing practice, bottom tackle fishing remains one of the most profitable methods that bring trophy fish in its results. Numerous varieties of bottom gear make it possible to cover most of the conditions that arise during the fishing process, and anglers are also attracted by the fact that any donkey scheme can be assembled by them independently from inexpensive and commercially available fishing accessories.

Undoubtedly, this method is not as dynamic as spinning hunting, but for some fishermen, it is the calm conduct of the fishing session of the ambush method in constant waiting mode that brings incredible pleasure, and in the end does not offend the quantitative component of the catch. About the nuances and secrets that allow you to catch fish on the donk and equip effective tackle and our today's conversation will go.

Bottom gear, regardless of its design, consists of two fundamental elements of a line stored on a reel or reel, and a weight that holds the rig in position. All other components of the gear are assembled on a mounting frame based on the direction of fishing for the extraction of a certain type of fish and the structure of the reservoir. All kinds of bottom rigs include leashes with hooks of various types, shock absorbers from models or an elastic cord, foam floats to hold baits in the water column at certain levels, bite alarms and auxiliary feeders with different principles of their work.

In addition, the reel or reel can be mounted on a rod or a special device, both a pole and a plank, which simplifies bottom fishing from the shore or from a boat. All the constituent elements of the tackle are interconnected by direct knitting or with the use of intermediate swivels, winding rings and fasteners, harmonious with the size of the articulating parts.

How to make a donkey for fishing

Bottom tackle is not an object of industrial production and is mostly assembled by anglers individually, under certain fishing conditions. In order to complete bottom gear with your own hands, the angler must have the skills and ability to knit knots and have an idea about the algorithm for assembling constructs into a single assembly.

The principle of operation of the equipment remains common in all cases - the supply of baits on the main cord with the attachment of the equipment with a load at the bottom of the reservoir. Next, we will dwell in more detail on the elements necessary for the manufacture of bottom gear with a description of their main working properties and characteristics.

fishing line

The donkey rig is formed on the main thread, which for short distances, up to 25 meters, is selected from a monofilament line, and for fishing at medium and long distances. The monofilament base is taken in a diameter of at least 0.2 mm, with the possibility of a fishing line for self-immersion under water and preferably in more stringent parameters. As a rule, transparent fishing lines are universal for all shades of water. Braided cords for tackle on the donk begin to be used from a diameter of 0.15 mm. Braids, as well as monofilament, are chosen with tough characteristics, and when using this type of cord, the green shades of the material are most effective for all types of water, and in different seasons of the year.

Important! It is worth pointing out that when fishing on shells, regardless of the distance of the bait, preference is given to monofilament cords with a lower abrasion coefficient compared to braided line.

Sinker

Fishing on the bottom can be carried out both with a deaf and with a sliding load. For the most part, drop-shaped lead sinkers are used for stagnant and weakly flowing reservoirs and flat types of forms for rivers with moderate and fast current. Drop-shaped weights and weights in the form of olives are not so noisy when casting, but do not stay on the bottom base on the currents, which, in contrast to them, is provided by flat figures that are noisier when feeding into fishing zones. A load weighing 70 - 150 grams will more than provide fishing in stagnant reservoirs, but for currents it is sometimes necessary to install a stationary sinker of 500 grams or more.

Important! Mountings to the fishing lines of deaf sinkers are carried out through swivels, selected depending on the mass of the load. The course of sliding sinkers along the main cord is limited by silicone stoppers based on the distances required for fishing conditions.

Leash

Lead material is selected based on the type of fish being caught. For pike, they put metal or Kevlar leashes. Catfish and zander attack baits on braided leashes without causing them any special deformations. All peaceful fish, depending on their caution and activity, can be successfully caught using monofilament or fluorocarbon leader materials. The length of the leash depends on the activity of the fish, the way it feeds and the structure of the bottom base at the place of fishing. For active fish, short leashes are used, the dimensions of which are in the range from 15 to 25 cm. For passive fish and when fishing in silty reservoirs, longer leash cuts are used. Additionally, under these conditions, they equip the leashes with foam floats, often ranging in size from a pea to a walnut, which ensures that the nozzle is kept in the water horizon necessary for fishing.

Hooks

Hooks in the equipment are selected based on the bait used and the size of the fish expected in the catches. Leashes with hooks are best prepared in advance at home, on the shore only retrofitting tackle and not spending extra time on knitting. Under vegetable baits, hooks with a shortened forearm in the color of the bait are used. For animal baits in the form of a worm and crawling out, as well as live bait fish, hooks with an elongated shank of blue and steel colors are used. In some cases, setting fry as bait is effective to use doubles and tees according to the size of the fish used for fishing. The shape and type of the connecting element of the accessory, whether it be a spatula or a ring, do not fundamentally affect the installation design.

Important! The basis of the reliability of the leash-hook element is, depending on the material of the leash, and its correct execution.

Donkeys with a feeder

Fishing on the bottom using a feeder is singled out as a separate direction, called the feeder and has rightfully earned the great love of adherents of this style of bottom hunting. The feeder in such a bottom rig plays a dual role, simultaneously performing the duties of a sinker along with the feeding element. Anglers have developed a wide range of installations of feeders in feeder equipment, depending on the conditions of fishing both in currents and in still water, and also influencing the course of fishing, based on their passivity or activity of the fish.

Important! The shape and design of the feeder regulates the supply of complementary foods and the stability of the placement of equipment on the bottom. The material of the accessory and the degree of its loading affect the casting distance, their accuracy and the noise component.

Spring

Most often, the feeder spring is used as a sliding snap in feeder fishing. Many installations are based on the use of garlands of several springs, into which hooks with baits are introduced along with the bait. In particular, this fishing technology is applicable to the capture of crucian carp and carp, and among anglers it is called the killer of crucian carp, which is characterized by the prey of mounting in crucian hunting. A steel spring wound on a hollow rod, according to the principle of a three-dimensional oval, is used for fishing stagnant water bodies. The spring, compressed when filling with food, gradually returns to its original relaxed state in the water, releasing the bait, which, having created a muddy spot, attracts fish to itself. Spring feeders of various volumes and weights are produced by manufacturers of fishing accessories, but this item of equipment can also be made quite simply and independently according to your individual, practice-based request.

feeder

The feeder habitual for most feeders is made in a rectangular or cylindrical shape from a metal or polyethylene mesh. It is possible to equip the donka with this element both in a sliding and in a blind pattern. Cylindrical feeders are practical in stagnant ponds. Feeders in the form of a parallelepiped are used on currents, balancing their weight with the strength of the water flow. The cell size of the product regulates the portioning of the feeding mixture. In installation, these are fastened with the help of fasteners with the obligatory use of a swivel, which prevents the cord from twisting when winding up the equipment.

Spinning for donkey

The modern donk, or in fishing slang, a snack, is based on or a specialized form of it called a feeder tackle. The length of the rod affects the casting distance, and the test parameter of the rod blank affects the weight of the equipment being cast. When fishing on a donk from a boat, short rods up to 2 meters are preferred. When fishing on the bottom from the shore, blanks 3 meters or more long are used.

Important! The mass of equipment with weight, bait and bait should not exceed the test parameter of the rod.

The build of a spinning rod is selected based on the size and behavior of the fish when playing. For catching all carp fish, medium and slow types of blank are suitable. They allow you to hook fish with high quality and, using the shock-absorbing properties of the tackle material, to bring out the trophy without any problems. predatory fish they catch on the floor with fast formations of fishing rods. This parameter influences the predator's hooking into the bony mouth, and in combination with the inertialess reel with a finely tuned friction clutch, bring the prey to the landing net. The feeder rod allows even more delicate fishing, due to the presence of interchangeable quiver-tips, with different characteristics, which only adds comfort to the fishing process.

Donkey bite alarm

An important component in fishing in the described way is the bite signaling device for the donkey.

Important! The equipment element helps to track the beginning of the fish's interest in the bait in time and determine the moment of hooking, which fundamentally affects the success of the fishing outcome.

Further material will be devoted to signaling devices in various designs, which will give the angler directions in choosing the one suitable for his option.

bells

The classic and cheapest type of bite signaling device, which, after mounting the tackle, is placed on the main cord and gives a mechanical sound signal when the fish savor, suck or swallow the bait. A small, frequent sound indicates the interest of the fish in the bait. A lingering ring indicates the moment of hooking. Bells are attached to the fishing line with a wire hook in the sling, at the very reel or reel.

Electronic bite alarm

A modern sound device that gives an electronic sound signal when the fishing line is caught in the signaling roller. The equipment is installed on a stand and at the same time can be a holder for a rod. The sound device can be equipped with a swinger that pulls the fishing line, which makes even a tiny bite noticeable and a pager to transmit a signal over a distance. In addition to the sound signal, the device also emits light pulses, which greatly simplifies night fishing.

The set of equipment runs on individual batteries. Fishing on a donk with an electronic signaling device is the most comfortable, but at the same time the most costly in material terms.

bells

Bells, as a modernized type of bell, are attached either to the fishing line of the tackle or directly to its quiver type itself. The sound mechanical signal is transmitted from the tightening of the fishing line or from the vibration of the rod blank during bites. The advanced bells can be combined with LED lighting powered by a miniature battery, which makes it possible to control multiple rigs in the dark. Fastening of the fixture on the mounts is carried out by a mechanical clamp, like a clothespin.

Rod as a signaling device

The quiver-type of the rod itself can also act as a signaling device, for which the angler will need to constantly monitor visually, and focusing on the intensity of its trembling, make a decision on the timely hooking of the fish. This type of bite control, in relation to the methods described above, does not leave the angler time for adjacent activities when fishing and makes it possible to hunt only one tool.

How to catch a donk

Bottom fishing can be done in several ways. The main thing is that the bottom base of the reservoir and its water area allow casting and installation of the installation.

Important! An intensive thicket of the water area, writhing, large stones and artificial junk objects at the bottom of the reservoir can hinder fishing.

Otherwise, catching a predator on a donk, like all peaceful fish, is similar in its technology, the main of which we will consider in the continuation of the material.

Bottom gear with shock absorber

The use of bottoms with rubber shock absorbers is convenient in vast free water areas and allows you to silently cast baits, which gives rise to catching especially cautious and shy fish. Tackle does not need a rod. The cargo is thrown manually or delivered to the place of installation by boat. A model is knitted to the load, with which the main cord is articulated, with hooks and bait. The extensibility of the model allows you to wind and re-install the line on the fishing trajectory without throwing the sinker.

Bottom fishing rod

Most often, a spinning rod with certain performance characteristics that satisfy the conditions of fishing acts as a rod. As a reel and a device for the effective casting of equipment, winding the cord and playing the trophy, it is used spinning reel. In such installations, a sinker is attached to the fishing line without a shock absorber in a deaf or sliding type.

Bottom tackle with a feeder

It is more effective to fish on a donk with a feeder on a special feeder rod. Features of the feeder allow you to fish in a narrow range, while achieving the highest efficiency of attaching fish to a promising point, controlling bite, serifs and playing the trophy. Feeder technology is an improved technique for hook fishing. And also higher requirements are imposed on the coils, which must have a clutch adjustable in several steps and a baitrunner.

The very same fishing is carried out from the shore, from the stationary installation of the rod on the stand. For the most part, the feeder is specialized for catching carp fish, but with some modifications in the equipment it can be successfully used for hunting all types of predatory fish.
