Do-it-yourself zherlitsy from a plastic pipe. Summer homemade vents. Pike fishing on small and hard-to-reach rivers. From a plastic tube

There are such types of homemade vents:

  1. Changeling. It consists of a plastic tube, thick wire and electrical tape. A baited hook is put on the wire and set over the hole. The end of the tube with bright electrical tape shows whether there is a bite or not.
  2. On the leg. To use such a vent, you will need more materials. Here you need to have:
  • plastic tube;
  • bright flag;
  • reel from fishing line;
  • nuts and washers;
  • base;
  • hose bushing.

It works like this: put the leg on the snow and freeze it. Fishing line with a hook and bait passed through the reel will signal a bite.

  1. On the platform. The design is considered the most complex, as it requires a drawing and fitting of all elements. They are mounted on a single platform, which is often carved from wood or plastic. For its preparation take:
  • coil;
  • checkbox;
  • plywood;
  • staples;
  • fishing line;
  • hook.

When biting, the fishing line crawls out from under the retainer brackets, the flag rises up and signals the appearance of a fish.

  1. From a bottle. The easiest way to make winter vents, as an ordinary plastic bottle will do. For big fish you should take not a half-liter bottle, but at least a three-liter one. It will only depend on the angler whether the fish will fall on this vent. The main thing is to be careful.
  2. Subglacial. They leave the angler more free time. It is better to leave such supplies for the night. If you put the structure on the ice, then you need to put a signaling device there. This option does not contribute to the freezing of the hole.

There is a great deal of information about various vents in the specialized literature, but they have one thing in common - you can really catch fish on them.

Zherlitsa for winter fishing consists of the following components:

  1. signaling device;
  2. bracket together with the coil;
  3. rack;
  4. tooling.

The rack is prepared from a plastic tube, and the bracket from a metal knitting needle, and their corners must remain even. The coil is made of foam, and the signaling device is made of steel wire.

When assembling a winter zherlitsa, you must perform the following steps:

  1. fasten the wire to the rack at one end, and provide a flag with the other.
  2. attach the rig to the spool.
  • On the example of an American vent with a rubber shock absorber, we recommend that you also use this feature so that the pike does not break the tackle and, when playing, the rubber smooths out sharp jerks of the fish.
  • A great way to set up the girders is to use a tripod. Unlike the platform version, this one will be securely fixed in the ice and powdered with snow, which guarantees its immobility.
  • Closer to the bait, use fluorocarbon up to 0.4 mm so that the pike does not notice the line. Nevertheless, a metal leash will still have to be used.
  • The wooden structure of the girders can be replaced with propylene (pvc) tubes.
  • A flagless vent is another option to improve your design. Use electronic signaling device bites, and even better a pager for transmitting a signal about a bite at a distance.

Classic variant

This design consists of several elements:

  • signaling device;
  • bracket with coil;
  • rack;
  • tooling.

It's easy to make.

  1. Take a metal tube that will serve as a stand.
  2. The bracket can be made of a metal knitting needle.
  3. The coil is made of foam.
  4. The signaling device is made from a piece of wire.
  5. Attach a snap to the coil.
  6. At the moment when the fish swallows the bait, a bright flag rises.

Upgraded classic version

This design includes the following components:

  • base;
  • signaling device;
  • bracket with coil;
  • snap.

Cooking process:

  1. The base is made of rigid foam or plywood with a diameter that matches the hole;
  2. The coil is made of foam and is fixed on the bracket;
  3. The signaling device is screwed to the base;
  4. A fishing line is threaded into the base and fixed on a reel;
  5. During fishing, the signaling device goes behind the coil, and at the moment of a bite, it starts to rotate, which causes the flag to rise up.

Reel "Spatula"

Consists of:

  • polystyrene;
  • racks;
  • hinge;
  • signaling device.

Since the signaling device looks like a spatula, it is equipped with a wooden handle, and then secured with an elastic band. The handle itself should be painted or sealed with electrical tape so that it remains bright and noticeable. When biting a pike, the signaling device stands straight, and the fishing line begins to unwind.

Wooden frame construction

The simplest model:

  1. Find a wooden flyer from a branched knot (preferably elastic).
  2. Cut a fork with a handle 15 centimeters long and 10 millimeters thick.
  3. At the end of the flyer, make a rim to fix the loop.
  4. It is better to have a fishing line with a margin of up to 7 meters and a diameter of 0.6 mm.
  5. Attach a metal leash to the free end of the fishing line.
  6. Attach a triple hook size No. 4-5 through the ring from the leash.
  7. Install a sinker on the fishing line (you can install several of them).
  8. At the bottom, fix the sinker with a swivel.

Ice pit

Similar girders are different simple manufacturing and for them various objects are suitable that will correspond to the hole made. To prepare an ice pit you will need:

  • object corresponding to the hole;
  • a plastic tube of approximately 40-50 cm, which is fixed on any selected object;
  • the fishing line is inserted into the sawn hole of the plastic tube.

Another way to make a structure for fishing from under the ice can be built from a duralumin strip using metal wire. The method of self-preparation consists of the following points:

  1. A strip of duralumin 1x50x200 mm or more with bent ends in one direction (it is also the base);
  2. Drill a small hole in the center of the plate where the coil will be placed;
  3. Near the reel, make another hole for the fishing line.
  4. Attach a signaling device wrapped or painted in bright colors to the spring;
  5. Attach the spring to the end of the base and secure with a pin.

Another option for fishing from under the ice. For manufacturing you will need:

  • a couple of pieces of hose about 10 centimeters;
  • on one piece of hose, make a hole for attaching the loop;
  • on the other segment, cut a hole where the rope will be fixed;
  • instead of a reel, a plastic tube is used, where 10 meters of cord are wound;
  • fasten the first end of the cord with a loop, and insert the second into the slot at the end of the hose;
  • tie a sinker and a leash made of fishing line about 40 cm to the free end of the rope;
  • connect the leash with another metal leash and hook.

For pike, perch, zander and other predatory fish in summer, a zherlitsa is perfect, which will float on the surface of the water. Such tackle is called a circle.

To make a summer zherlitsy (mug) you will need:

  • slingshot;
  • fishing line;
  • sinker;
  • triple hook (you can also single);
  • a wooden stake to secure it to the shore.

Instruction:

  1. tie a fishing line to a slingshot and wrap it around;
  2. going to sinker, leash and float;
  3. put a live bait on the hook;
  4. fasten the tackle on the shore to the branches of the bushes that are next to the pond.

With the onset of the summer season, many reservoirs are overgrown with vegetation, and in order to build a good vent for pike, you need to take into account the hard-to-reach places where this fish lives. For example, those who are accustomed to catching pike in the winter may well change the winter zherlitsa into a summer one.

The main thing is to find the necessary elements for the manufacture of the vent, on which you can wind the fishing line. Mainly use:

  • plastic circle;
  • plastic bottle;
  • piece of wood.

Make a mug out of plastic bottle with your own hands is easy. For the manufacture of the structure you will need:

  • adhesive tape or electrical tape;
  • scissors or a sharp knife;
  • rubber;
  • thin spring;
  • nylon cord or fishing line 3-3.5 m long;
  • plastic bottle with a cap with a volume of 1-1.5 liters;
  • hook;
  • a piece of tarpaulin;
  • sinker.

The process of making a bow:

  1. Free the plastic bottle from the bright label. Wind the fishing line or cord in the middle, tying it with a strong knot at the neck. Fasten under the lid rubber ring, which additionally fix the fishing line.
  2. Attach a triple hook to the end of the cord. The sinker can be attached to the line directly in front of the hook or 30-40 cm higher.
  3. Attach the spring to the side of the bottle using tape or tape. Fasten a bright flag from a tarpaulin at its end. Bend the spring to the bottle and fix the position by passing the fishing line under the elastic.

Put a live bait fish on a hook and lower the zherlitsa into the pond. When the fish swallows the bait, the line will unwind, releasing the spring with the flag. Take out the catch and plant a new live bait.

With the help of a thread, the zherlitsa can be attached to a wooden or iron stick, foam or board. This will facilitate the process of getting tackle and catch from the water.

To prevent the bottle from getting lost in the seaweed, paint the bottom red, pink, or red. Bright shades will help you find a zherlitsa among coastal bushes and snags.

Water must not seep into the bottle. Fill the place where the lid is screwed with waterproof glue or screw a piece of bandage onto the thread. Check the equipment every 60-80 minutes, in case of even a minimal leak, the vent will completely go under water.

Those who are familiar with the design of the winter zherlitsa, of course, can easily convert it into a summer version. Although there are different designs and many anglers do not know how to mount them on a pond or big rivers with moderate flow.

Among the classic options for vents, you can make simple designs from improvised materials with your own hands: flyers, tubes, a flag or an ordinary plastic bottle.

Pike vents can be made from any materials at hand, and most of them will work quite effectively. The main thing is to immediately estimate what sizes of fish are found in a particular reservoir, which will allow you to make such tackle more competently.

Some craftsmen in recent years have begun to make girders by analogy with pipe structures. Due to the fact that much less material is used, and not too much time is spent either, they produce ten or fifteen of these products at once and arrange them along the coast.

The fact is that here, instead of a rather long piece of pipe about 70 cm long, a small piece is used, the length of which is maximum 10 cm. Otherwise, the technology is exactly the same.

This ring is hung on a strong branch of a tree growing on the shore and left until the bite, which usually happens quite quickly. Having thus passed about two hundred to two hundred and fifty meters along the coast of the reservoir, it is possible to establish in the region of 10-12 vents, each of which is highly likely to be attacked by pike or perch.

Do-it-yourself summer zherlitsa from a bottle

There are times when a person suddenly finds himself in a pond, there is nothing suitable at hand like spinning or similar gear, but I really want to fish. In principle, making tackle from improvised materials is quite easy, but for this you will need to use a plastic bottle, the volume of which should be about half a liter.

Equipment

All important elements:

  1. Fishing line. Due to the fact that it is less exploited, the company should not worry. Its diameter will depend on the size of the fish. Usually take up to 0.6 mm.
  2. Coil. 20 meters of fishing line are wound on it - a little more can be.
  3. Leash. Metal, so that predatory fish could not bite it.
  4. Sinker. Its mass should have a ratio of 1:2 to fish. On the river, the load is chosen from the speed of the current (it is important that the live bait is kept in one place).
  5. Signaling device.
  6. Bright flag.

Tubular girders

Tubular girders have become popular with the advent of various materials in the construction market. Fishermen have come up with a new variety - tubular, consisting of a polymer pipe up to 35 mm in diameter and up to 70 mm long.

Design

The design of the girders is easy to manufacture:

  • two holes are drilled at the top of the tube;
  • a segment up to 20 meters long and no more than 0 5 mm thick is wound on the tube;
  • a sliding sinker weighing up to 15 g is hung on the zherlitsa;
  • stopped by a rubber damper;
  • a swivel with a clasp is tied to the end of the thread;
  • a section from the bicycle chamber up to 2 cm wide is pulled onto the tube in order to fix the vent in the working position.

Flags with a flag

Making your own flag is a solid option, especially if it's made up of different colors. A small red flag is barely visible in the reeds, and at a long distance it turns completely black. Orange is clearly visible in the bushes, but invisible at a decent distance.

A multi-colored flag will enable the angler to immediately see the bite. It is also recommended to stick strips of reflective material on the flag (at night, under the light of a lantern, they will be perfectly visible).

Manufacturing is not difficult:

  • take a rail 50x50 mm and a length of 40 centimeters;
  • set a checkbox on an elastic material;
  • at the end of the workpiece, fix the flag rod with electrical tape;
  • attach an inertial coil to the rail, which is present on float rod; it is attached in such a way that during the scrolling the stem with the flag is straightened;
  • wind a fishing line up to 20 meters on a reel;
  • fasten a sinker on the ring from the fishing line;
  • attach a swivel to the fishing line;
  • attach a metal leash with a hook to the swivel;
  • fix the zherlitsa on the shore with a peg.

This is a common tackle among anglers used in winter. For fishing in summer period enough to tweak it a bit.

As a material you need to choose:

  • stick in length up to 40-45cm;
  • checkbox;
  • inertial coil;
  • monofilament fishing line up to 0.5 mm in diameter, up to 20 m long;
  • carabiner;
  • sinker;
  • leash;
  • hooks.

To assemble the structure you need:

  • attach a flag and an inertial coil to the vent (coil);
  • equip the reel with monofilament fishing line up to 20m long;
  • attach a sliding sinker when fishing for pike;
  • equip the zherlitsa with a metal leash;
  • attach hooks and you can throw into the pond.

To install the tackle, you will need to drive a stake on the shore and tie the vent to the rack with a rope. The leash allows you to make the bites of the fish more pronounced, and the flag will tell you when the fish swam up to the bait. It will begin to rise up above the water, signaling the start of a bite.

But, you can not rush to hooking. You need to wait a few minutes for the fish to swallow the live bait properly. From the beginning of the rotation of the reel, you need to prepare for hooking the fish.

The flag will be clearly visible even at a distance, if you first paint it in brighter, conspicuous colors.

As a rule, a flag vent is used in winter and only for ice fishing, but many fishermen use it in the summer months as well. It just needs to be tweaked a bit.

The design of the girders

How to catch more fish? I have been active fishing for quite some time and have found many ways to improve the bite. And here are the most effective ones:

Recall that not only pike, but also burbot, pike perch, perch, and rotan bite on the vents. Nevertheless, pike is the most popular object of fishing. Finally, we will give 8 important recommendations.

  • If fishing allows you to use several leashes, you can plant different live bait.
  • The bite will depend on the gear. If it is thin, then the bite will be bad.
  • If there is a strong current, then it is better to take a heavier sinker.
  • Disguise supplies for the night. The hole can be covered with snow.
  • Do not stand over the tackle and do not run from one to another. Choose a place to wait and watch the alarms carefully.
  • Observe the correct installation of the vent.
  • The bite will depend on the place of fishing.
  • It would be useful to prepare for knowledge in the field of fish behavior in the dead of winter.

The zherlitsa is one of the oldest fishing devices for fishing for predatory fish. Invented hundreds of years ago, a simple design still surpasses many modern gear in terms of efficiency. During this time, it has not changed much, except that it has been slightly modernized, and as for its popularity among predator hunters, there is hardly any other such tackle that can compete with it.

So what is her secret, maybe in the design? Let's try to figure it out, and at the same time we'll look at how to make a vent for a pike with your own hands.

This simple tackle is designed for catching predatory fish exclusively on live bait. It can have several design options, but the essence boils down to one thing: the predator is presented with a bait attached to a hook connected by a fishing line to a fixed base, which, as a rule, is above the water. Usually anglers use several vents. Their number can be any, if only the area of \u200b\u200bthe reservoir and the capabilities of the fisherman allow.

Despite the fact that today you can buy any tackle in the store, anglers prefer to make vents with their own hands. This business is absolutely not expensive and takes very little time. A good fisherman can have a dozen and a half girders in his arsenal. If you know where to look for a predator, this amount is enough to get quite a good catch. Making vents with your own hands for some anglers is gradually developing into a kind of hobby. Making these tackles on their own, the craftsmen constantly modernize them, bringing them to perfection.

Types of girders

All vents can be divided into two main types:

  • winter;
  • summer.

The first, in turn, are divided into supraglacial and subglacial. winter designs more common and popular than summer ones, which have recently been replaced by more modern means of fishing.

Winter girders are of three types:

  • with a flat base;
  • on a vertical stand;
  • "taganok".

Flat base girders

The most common are girders with a flat base. They have a simple design and, unlike vertical and "taganka", are easy to install. In addition, such do-it-yourself girders are made within 15-20 minutes from improvised materials.

Such tackle consists of a wooden or plastic platform on which a reel with fishing line and equipment is located, as well as a signal flag that “shoots out” when biting.

Advantages:

  • simple design;
  • easy replacement of structural elements;
  • quick and easy installation on any surface;
  • the possibility of overlapping the hole to prevent hit sunlight and freezing.

Disadvantages:

  • in the presence of strong winds, without additional load, they can shift;
  • freezing of the base into ice in severe frost is possible;
  • good factory models are quite expensive.

Vertical girders

Vertical vents work on the same principle, however, their entire mechanism is not located on a flat base, but on a stand, which is installed in the snow compacted near the hole. This, in fact, is their only drawback: installation is impossible without snow.

A do-it-yourself vertical vent can also be made from improvised means in a minimum period of time.

Advantages:

  • when securely installed, they are quite stable;
  • purchased models are significantly cheaper than flat ones.

Disadvantages:

  • difficulties with installation without snow;
  • does not cover the hole.

"Taganok"

"Taganok" is a design in the form of an aluminum tripod with a coil and a flag located on it. This do-it-yourself zherlitsa is made infrequently, as it requires certain metalworking skills and the availability necessary tool.

Advantages:

  • compactness and the ability to fold the structure;
  • convenience in transportation.

Disadvantages:

  • a do-it-yourself zherlitsa can only be made if you have metalworking skills and the appropriate tool;
  • poor stability in strong wind conditions.

Do-it-yourself flat ice vent for pike

Let us consider in detail the process of manufacturing a vent with a flat base. Let's start with resources and tools. We will need:

  • board size 30X10 cm;
  • the most common coil fly rod(preferably with a ratchet);
  • fishing line 0.3-0.35 mm;
  • cargo (olive) weighing 5-15 g;
  • a leash (if for a pike, then steel or tungsten) with a carabiner;
  • hook No. 4-6 (according to domestic classification);
  • a thin steel plate or wire 30-40 cm long and a red flap (or a ready-made flag from the store);
  • drill with drills with a diameter of 4 and 10 mm;
  • 6 wood screws (3X10 mm);
  • 2 plastic clamps for fixing the electric cable to the wall;
  • screwdriver.

A flat do-it-yourself pike vent can be made not only on the basis of a plank. A plastic or foam plate can also play its role. It is important that the platform can securely hold all the elements installed on it.

We drill a hole with a diameter of 10 mm in the center of the plank. We change the drill to 4 mm in the drill and make holes in the coil mounting plates. Using self-tapping screws, we fasten the reel with the fishing line pre-wound on it at the edge of the plank, positioning it so that the fishing line, unwinding from below, has a direction towards the drilled hole.

When making girders with your own hands (winter), you should pay enough attention to the flag. If it is not factory, then we take a prepared steel plate or wire and bend its edge (1.5-2 cm) at an angle of 90 degrees. We apply this edge to the middle of the board on the opposite side of the coil and press it with the help of clamps and self-tapping screws so that the flag stands vertically and can be removed from the clamps with force. We attach a red flap to its end in any convenient way.

Now it remains only to attach a load and a leash to the fishing line. That's the whole process of making a flat vent with your own hands. Winter structures of a vertical type are made according to the same principle, only they have a different arrangement and fastening of structural elements.

Ice pit for pike

Under-ice vents are used by anglers for hunting predatory fish in two cases: when the tackle is set at night or during the day for a long time in conditions of severe frost. Their essence lies in the fact that the entire structure is lowered into the water in order to avoid freezing gear into the ice.

Do-it-yourself ice vent for pike is made even easier. A base is taken in the form of a wooden slat or stick with a length of at least two diameters of the hole. In the middle we tie a thick fishing line, to the end of which we attach a piece of plastic or rubber pipe (you can use a hose), which has negative buoyancy. From below, a thin cut 2-4 cm long is made in it. The main fishing line is wound on the hose. The tackle with the bait sinks to the bottom, the fishing line is pulled up and brought into the cut, where it is fixed. The zherlitsa is lowered into the hole a few centimeters under the water, where it will be held by the load.

When biting, the pike will pull the fishing line behind it, it will slide off the cut and begin to unwind to its full length. You can determine the bite by the emerging tube. A do-it-yourself ice vent can also be made in the form of a horn. Similar designs were used by our ancestors for fishing for pike and burbot. The principle of its operation is similar to that described above, only a small horn is used instead of a tube. A fishing line is wound around it, after which it descends under the water with its horns down. The fishing line is also fixed in a cut made in one of the horns. As you can see, making a winter zherlitsa with your own hands is quite simple. What about summer?

Do-it-yourself summer zherlitsy

Summer vents are also used for catching predatory fish, however, unlike winter ones, they are installed not on ice, but above the surface of the water. Today it is rare to see such a design in action, but still some anglers continue to use them quite successfully.

Let's look at how to make a do-it-yourself zherlitsa for summer fishing on a predator, on the example of a classic flyer. For this we need:

  • a small wooden horn 10-15 cm long;
  • fishing line 0.3-0.4 mm thick;
  • cargo-olive (5-15 g);
  • leash (steel or tungsten);
  • triple hook (No. 6-8);
  • drill with a drill 8 mm;
  • piece of strong rope.

We cut out the horn from hazel or willow. It must be thoroughly cleaned and sanded so that the fishing line does not catch when unwinding. We drill a hole in the handle and thread a piece of rope into it. In one of the horns, you need to make a thin cut to fix the fishing line, as is the case with the winter ice vent. Now we wind the fishing line on the horns, having previously fixed its end. We fasten the load and the leash with a hook. That, in principle, is all that remains to install our vent.

Features of installing a summer vent

There are two ways to put the flyer: by tying it to a tree branch hanging over the water, or by installing a long pole on a steep bank. In the first case, we will need to either bend the branch, or climb onto it and tie our vent so that it hangs above the water. In the case of a pole, the "flyer" is tied to its edge, after which it is driven into the shore and leans at the right angle to the surface of the water. This option is more acceptable, as it gives you the opportunity to fully control the tackle.

So we figured out the designs of the girders. Agree that in the process self-manufacturing there is no difficulty. In fact, making vents with your own hands is an entertaining and creative process for the most part, because any design can be changed and adjusted to certain conditions, which, in principle, most anglers do.

Video how to make a do-it-yourself winter zherlitsa

Fishing vents are divided into summer and winter periods. Their difference is in the correct construction of the structure, each of which has its own characteristics. The object of fishing for such tackle is pike, less often burbot, pike perch and perch. Due to the fact that fishing shops do not offer a wide selection of baits for different seasons, professionals and beginners prefer to cook their own at home.

Do-it-yourself winter zherlitsy

There are such types of homemade vents:

  • plastic tube;
  • bright flag;
  • reel from fishing line;
  • nuts and washers;
  • base;

  • coil;
  • checkbox;
  • plywood;
  • staples;
  • fishing line;
  • hook.

When biting, the fishing line crawls out from under the retainer brackets, the flag rises up and signals the appearance of a fish.

There is a great deal of information about various vents in the specialized literature, but they have one thing in common - you can really catch fish on them.

The ice fishing chute consists of the following components:

  1. signaling device;
  2. bracket together with the coil;
  3. rack;

Use an electronic bite alarm, or even better, a pager to transmit a bite signal from a distance.

  • base;
  • signaling device;
  • bracket with coil;
  • snap.

Cooking process:

  1. The base is made of rigid foam or plywood with a diameter that matches the hole;
  2. The coil is made of foam and is fixed on the bracket;
  3. The signaling device is screwed to the base;
  4. A fishing line is threaded into the base and fixed on a reel;
  5. During fishing, the signaling device goes behind the coil, and at the moment of a bite, it starts to rotate, which causes the flag to rise up.

Reel "Spatula"

Consists of:

  • polystyrene;
  • racks;
  • hinge;

Ice pit

Such vents are simple to manufacture and various items are suitable for them that will correspond to the hole made. To prepare an ice pit you will need:

  • object corresponding to the hole;
  • a plastic tube of approximately 40-50 cm, which is fixed on any selected object;
  • the fishing line is inserted into the sawn hole of the plastic tube.

Another way to make a structure for fishing from under the ice can be built from a duralumin strip using metal wire. The method of self-preparation consists of the following points:

  1. A strip of duralumin 1x50x200 mm or more with bent ends in one direction (it is also the base);
  2. Drill a small hole in the center of the plate where the coil will be placed;
  3. Near the reel, make another hole for the fishing line.
  4. Attach a signaling device wrapped or painted in bright colors to the spring;
  5. Attach the spring to the end of the base and secure with a pin.

Another option for fishing from under the ice. For manufacturing you will need:

  • a couple of pieces of hose about 10 centimeters;
  • on one piece of hose, make a hole for attaching the loop;
  • on the other segment, cut a hole where the rope will be fixed;
  • instead of a reel, a plastic tube is used, where 10 meters of cord are wound;
  • fasten the first end of the cord with a loop, and insert the second into the slot at the end of the hose;
  • tie a sinker and a leash made of fishing line about 40 cm to the free end of the rope;
  • connect the leash with another metal leash and hook.

Rigging girders

Regardless of the design, its equipment consists of:

  • fishing line up to 20 meters;
  • leash;
  • hook (more often they take not one, but two or three hooks - the choice is up to the angler);
  • sinkers;
  • coils.

Take a monofilament line. Coil up to 30 mm. It is important that the hook has a good point. A sliding olive is suitable for a sinker.

Checking the checkbox

Making your own flag is a solid option, especially if it's made up of different colors. A small red flag is barely visible in the reeds, and at a long distance it turns completely black. Orange is clearly visible in the bushes, but invisible at a decent distance.

A multi-colored flag will enable the angler to immediately see the bite. It is also recommended to stick strips of reflective material on the flag (at night, under the light of a lantern, they will be perfectly visible).

Manufacturing is not difficult:

  • take a rail 50x50 mm and a length of 40 centimeters;
  • set a checkbox on an elastic material;
  • at the end of the workpiece, fix the flag rod with electrical tape;
  • attach an inertial coil to the rail, which is present on the float rod; it is attached in such a way that during the scrolling the stem with the flag is straightened;
  • wind a fishing line up to 20 meters on a reel;
  • fasten a sinker on the ring from the fishing line;
  • attach a swivel to the fishing line;
  • attach a metal leash with a hook to the swivel;
  • fix the zherlitsa on the shore with a peg.

The process of making summer vents

For catching pike, perch, pike perch and other predatory fish in the summer, a vent that will float on the surface of the water is perfect. Such tackle is called a circle.

To make a summer zherlitsy (mug) you will need:

  • slingshot;
  • fishing line;
  • sinker;
  • triple hook (you can also single);
  • a wooden stake to secure it to the shore.

Instruction:

  1. tie a fishing line to a slingshot and wrap it around;
  2. going to sinker, leash and float;
  3. put a live bait on the hook;
  4. fasten the tackle on the shore to the branches of the bushes that are next to the pond.

Classic variant

With the onset of the summer season, many reservoirs are overgrown with vegetation, and in order to build a good vent for pike, you need to take into account the hard-to-reach places where this fish lives. For example, those who are accustomed to catching pike in the winter may well change the winter zherlitsa into a summer one.

The main thing is to find the necessary elements for the manufacture of the vent, on which you can wind the fishing line. Mainly use:

  • plastic circle;
  • plastic bottle;
  • piece of wood.

There are also such vents that can be installed on the water, but they require constant supervision so that it does not get pulled into the snag.

To arrange a summer vent you need:

  • choose a place where it will be attached;
  • find a wooden flyer and attach a fishing line to it (the fishing line should be 0.5 mm thick and about 7 meters long);
  • a sliding weight with a swivel to connect a 30 cm leash (required in the current);
  • retaining rings;
  • hooks (at the request of the angler, double and triple hooks can be used).
  • after installation, tie the vent to a tree or branch hanging over the pond.

Use the boat to set the vent in the right place, because from the shore you will have to enter the thickets and into the water.

One of the most simple ways a bottle is used to make a zherlitsa.

  • a nylon thread is fixed on the bottle, which is fixed with an elastic band;
  • the sinker is put on a thread and put on a leash and a hook;
  • the bottle is painted in a bright color;
  • live bait is planted, and the bottle is tied with a thread to a tree branch hanging over a pond.

The only thing left for the fisherman to do is to keep a close eye on the fish to see if it has caught the vent.

Those who prefer to fish from a boat are also able to make a zherlitsa, only in this case a bottle is required large sizes, for example, a three-liter.

Instruction:

  1. a fishing line is fixed under the neck of the bottle, and a loop is wound across, which is held under the ringlet;
  2. pour some water into the bottle;
  3. make a small hole in the cap and neck of the bottle where you can tie a fishing line;
  4. then take the cord and fishing line, thread the fishing line through the bottom of the bottle and make a knot;
  5. pass the line through the lid;
  6. attach a sinker and several hooks with live bait to the fishing line.

When the pike grabs the live bait, Bottom part the girders will rise, and the upper one will go to the depth. Then you can play the pike on the shore.

- a very exciting activity, so that “advanced” fishermen do not talk about its unsportsmanlike nature. But making such gear with your own hands is no less interesting and creative process. In this article, we will give several examples of creating such a live bait fishing rod.

Homemade options

Today we present several models for your judgment. Homemade vents of these designs will not require you to purchase any special materials or products.

Everything you need is in the drawer of any fishing do-it-yourselfer or in a typical household.

Here are some homemade winter vents for pike fishing we will consider in our master class:

  1. Flip-flop made of plastic tube.
  2. A jar from a plastic bottle.
  3. Ice pit.

Of course, to consider all the currently existing options for the format of a fishing article on the site is not enough, you will need to publish a thick book. But even these five examples are enough for creativity, because we will describe only the basic options, and each fisherman can add his own zest to the design.

Changeling

To make such a zherlitsa for pike, we need:

  • plastic tube forty centimeters long;
  • thick wire;
  • bright tape.

You see how few materials are needed for such a model, and making such a fishing rod is as easy as shelling pears:

  1. In the middle of the tube we drill a pair of through holes, in diameter they should be equal to the thickness of the wire. The holes are placed at an angle of ninety degrees.
  2. We insert the wire into these holes, it turns out that the tube stands on legs.
  3. At the front end of the tube we make a slot for clamping the fishing line.
  4. We wind the fishing line with snap on the front of the tube.
  5. We wrap the back with electrical tape of bright yellow or red color.

This trick works like this:

  1. We measure the required amount of fishing line, and clamp it in the section.
  2. We equip the hook of live bait fish and let it go under the water.
  3. We install the structure with the front end above the hole.
  4. When biting, the pike pulls on the line, and the vent turns over with its front end right into the hole, leaning on wire legs.
  5. The bright rear end of the tube perfectly shows the bite.

This chute works best in light frost and little snow.

From a plastic bottle

Of course, no Kulibin in our time can do without an indispensable plastic bottle. It also came in handy for making. In addition to the bottle itself, we still need a piece of cord, an elastic band for money and a stick cut off on the shore. The manufacturing process is simple, like all ingenious:

  1. In the bottom of the "one and a half" we make a couple of holes into which we thread the lace.
  2. We fix this cord on a stick, which we freeze over the hole.
  3. On the side of the bottle we wind a fishing line with a snap.
  4. We measure the fishing line, equip the tackle with live bait and lower it under the ice.
  5. We put an elastic band on the neck and fix a forest loop under it.

When biting, the loop will pop out from under the elastic and the fishing line will begin to come off the bottle, swinging and spinning it. This will be a bite signal.

Do not scatter used plastic on the ice and the banks of the reservoir, respect nature!

Subglacial

Such vents for catching pike are used when setting up for the night or in especially severe frosts. The entire "mechanism" in these structures is placed under water, and on the ice there is only a stick to which such a fishing rod is tied.

Under-ice vents are made from a hose, pipes, wooden flyers, soft thick wire, pieces of plastic or foam. And here is the schematic diagram of these structures:

  • a hole is made in the upper part for a cord, with which the tackle is attached to a stick on ice;
  • a fishing line with equipment is wound around the body;
  • a slot is made in the lower part for fixing the fishing line, or a bank gum is put on.

In order to better see the bite in the hole, the upper end of such a vent is equipped with a multi-colored float, which, rotating, shows the bite.

On a leg

This do-it-yourself vent requires more work in the manufacture, and a lot of materials are used, compared to previous models:

  • plastic tube;
  • checkbox;
  • metal plate;
  • reel from fishing line;
  • hose sleeve;
  • bolts with washers and nuts;
  • base.

Despite the large number of elements, it is not difficult to make this tackle at home:

  1. Cut out the base from a piece of wooden board or hard dense plastic.
  2. We make a hole in it for attaching the tube.
  3. We make a slot for the passage of fishing line.
  4. We fix the tube in the base.
  5. We cut out a holder for the coil from a sheet of metal.
  6. We bend one end of the resulting plate around the tube-rack and fix it with bolts.
  7. We attach a coil for the vent to the free end of the plate; for this, we cut out the sleeve from a hose of a suitable diameter and insert it into the hole of the reel.
  8. We attach a flag at the top of the tube.

You can first fix the flag in the cork, and then insert the cork into the tube-rack from above. It is also possible to mount the shaft in a silicone tube previously taped with electrical tape.

This zherlitsa can also be used without a base, inserting a leg into the snow sludge and freezing it. This will save space in the bag, the music will not protect the hole from light and frost.

On the platform

This pike design is the only one that requires a drawing to accurately fit parts. The fact is that all its elements are mounted on one platform. As such, a piece of wooden board, plastic or plywood can act. Here is the sequence of work:

  1. In order to make the tackle correctly, we draw the layout of the elements directly on the basis: coils, a flag, holes and retainer brackets.
  2. At one end of the platform we attach the coil.
  3. At the second end we attach a flag made of wire with a spring.
  4. In the middle of the base we drill holes for passing fishing line.
  5. Closer to the coil we put a pair of brackets, between which there will be a charged flag.
  6. The pole of the flag must lie exactly between the brackets, the height of which must be such that they can rise above the stowed flag.
  7. The bait bait equipped with live bait is installed above the hole, and the forest loop lies under the brackets above the flagpole, charging it.

After a bite, the fishing line jumps out from under the retainer brackets, releasing the flag and signaling a bite.

Homemade coils

Speaking of home-made vents for catching winter pike, pike perch, burbot or perch, one cannot help but talk about making vent coils with your own hands.

Reels for winter fishing are made in two ways:

  • from forest bobbins;
  • made of plastic and foam.

In the first manufacturing method, a piece of rubber or silicone hose of a suitable diameter is inserted into the finished reel as a sleeve. Then a bolt is placed in the hole of the hose and large washers are put on it from both sides, closing the holes in the reel, fixing them with nuts.

In the second case, two circles with a diameter of about five centimeters are cut out of thin plastic, and a smaller circle of 3-3.5 centimeters is cut out of thick material. These circles are centered like this:

  1. Holes are drilled at the points of installation of the compass needle.
  2. A large circle is put on a suitable diameter axis and smeared with glue, this is the first sidewall of the coil.
  3. Then a thick circle of the core is put on and glued to the sidewall.
  4. The second sidewall is glued next.

A bolt suitable for the diameter of the hole is used as an axis.

Today, the most effective and cheapest way of fishing is bait fishing, which is characterized by high functionality, simplicity and convenience. I would like to note the fact that fishing on a zherlitsa in the winter is significantly different from summer fishing. Another advantage of girders is fishing in hard-to-reach places, such as barrels and whirlpools, as well as where fishing with a simple rod is basically impossible due to strong vegetation, leaning trees or bushes. For example, on a small but very dense river, spinning will not bring good luck, even if this river is teeming with fish.

The manufacturing process of this unique tackle, which will be discussed below, is quite fast, simple and practically does not require any costs.

Making a zherlitsa

The most optimal material for the manufacture of a vent is an ordinary PVC pipe with a diameter of 32 mm, which is used when laying sewers and costs no more than fifty rubles. One 2-meter pipe is enough for the manufacture of eighteen such gear. So, we cut the pipe (you can use a hacksaw) into 10-centimeter cylinders. We clean the edges with sandpaper and chamfer (you can use a “medium-sized” file or emery).

Next, using a hot nail or drill, at a distance of about 1.5 centimeters from the bottom edge of the workpiece, we burn one through hole. We do the same procedure with top cylinder, but here we are already making two through holes opposite each other. We will use the lower hole for the line stopper, which is made of a simple but strong wire with a diameter of about one millimeter, which is subsequently bent with the letter “P”. You can also use a champagne cork fuse, the main thing is that the stopper does not slow down the fishing line when it runs off the tube.

Next, you should make a suspension from the same fishing line that will be used in our vent for hanging it from any rod, rod, bush, or any other more or less strong vegetation. To do this, the suspension must end with a loop (noose). As for the main line, here, for most reservoirs, 10 meters will be quite enough. If fishing takes place in dense vegetation or under snags, then part of the forest can be secured using electrical tape or adhesive tape, leaving a margin of 4–5 meters.

At the last stage, it remains to fix a freely sliding sinker-olive, which is hung on the free end of the fishing line, tie a 30-centimeter loop and put on a tee. I would like to draw your attention to the absence of a metal leash in the vent, which significantly increases the catchability of our gear.
