Spinning fishing for beginners. Catching fish on a spinning rod. How to catch on spinning. What kind of fish can be caught with this method

A spinning reel for a beginner spinner must be inertialess. Perfect size there will be 2000-3000 spool size. This dimension means that it will be possible to wind 100 meters of fishing line with a diameter of 0.2-0.3 on the spool of the reel (conditionally a drum). This is enough for spinning fishing both from the shore and from the boat.

The coil should have a good friction brake (it can be front and rear). The front drag is considered more sensitive and can be fine-tuned, the rear drag is less sensitive, but works well enough to prevent losing bait and large fish due to line breaks.

Read detailed guide choice of spinning reels.

The following types of reels can be used to equip modern spinning rods:

  1. Inertial. Now they are rarely used due to the difficulty of correct casting and the high risk of the formation of a "beard" from the fishing line.
  2. Inertialess. The most practical and common coils that, depending on the model, can cope with any task assigned to them.
  3. Multipliers. This is a more powerful option that is used for catching big trophies and for ultra-long casts.

Beginner spinning should be equipped exclusively with a spinning reel. Ideally, it should have a 2000-3000 spool. On such spools, 100 m of scaffolding D = 0.2-0.3 mm will fit. This length is quite enough to fish both from the shore and from a boat.

Rod test, g Line diameter, mm Coil size
up to 12 0,12-0,14 1000-1050
up to 16 0,18-0,22 1500-2000
up to 21 0,2-0,22 1500-2000
up to 25 0,23-0,25 2000
up to 28 0,25 2000-2500
up to 30 0,25-0,28 2500
up to 50 0,3-0,35 3000-3500
up to 80 0,32-0,45 3500-4000

It is important that the reel has a well-functioning friction braking device, which can be front and rear. Unlike the front clutch, the rear clutch is less sensitive, but it performs well in operation and does not allow you to lose the bait and large individuals due to line breaks.

If you are going to fish in the spring - first read the article about spinning pike in May. (If it is in the river - this one)

Inertialess

This type of reel is the most popular among spinningists, and it is no coincidence. The device of the inertialess coil is distinguished by a number of undeniable advantages, thanks to which they have become so widespread.

The most important advantages of spinning reels include:

  1. ease of handling;
  2. the ability to cast small light baits: due to the fact that the spool does not rotate during casting, lures weighing from 1 g can be cast with a freewheeling reel;
  3. ease of casting: if everything is in order with the quality of the line laying on the reel, the likelihood of a “beard” on the cast is practically excluded.

When collecting tackle for pike fishing, you can purchase a reel that is positioned by the manufacturer as a spinning or match reel (that is, a reel for a float fishing rod with a long cast). Spinning reels for match fishing have excellent line lay, so they are well suited for working with thin braids.

A spinning reel is a device for adjusting the length of the fishing line and protecting it from flying out.

Coil types:

  • Inertial coils are the easiest to use and cheap. Many of them do not have a stopper, which is why you have to slow down the drum with your finger to prevent the fishing line coming off.
  • Inertialess reels are very convenient, the line with a load can be cast over a long distance. They have a locking mechanism.
  • Multiplier reels - they are difficult to manufacture, so they are very expensive in price. Such coils are a combination of inertia and inertialess coils. They cast very easily and you can control the tackle quite easily.

For beginners, it is better to purchase a spinning reel with a spool size of 2000-3000. This size means that 100 meters of fishing line with a diameter of 0.2-0.3 can be placed on the reel drum. Thus, it will be possible to fish both from land and from river transport.

The friction brake must function well on the reel, it must be carefully adjusted, otherwise there is a possibility of the fishing line flying out of the reel.

There are two types - inertial and non-inertial spinning reels. If you are a beginner spinning player, then start your knowledge with inertialess ones, which are by far the easiest to use and allow you to cast the lightest lures.

We will dwell on them in detail. What I would like to draw your attention to when choosing a spinning reel.

Reel spool

The spool of the reel is a special removable drum on which the fishing line is wound. When winding, it does translational movements back and forth. The main requirement for the spool is a perfectly smooth, without notches, side. To find these notches, run your finger along the contour of the spool (where the line touches the rim when casting). All flaws are perfectly felt by fingers.

The size of the coil is written on the spool itself and looks like a four-digit number, for example: 1000, 2500, 3000. These treasured numbers indicate the class (1000 - light, 2500 - medium, 3000 - heavy) and show that one hundred meters are needed to properly fill the coil fishing line of a certain diameter (for different companies in different ways).

On the spool, several diameters of the fishing line and the required footage for proper winding without backing are mainly written (backing is an additional winding to completely fill the spool). For example: 0.35-120 or 0.3-160. Always choose the class of spinning reel that matches the class of the rod.

All spinning reels are equipped with a spare spool, on which you can wind a fishing line of a different diameter. In most cases, these are low quality graphite spares. Less often - the same metal (aluminum) as the main one.

friction brake

The friction brake is designed to dampen the jerks of the fish, thereby reducing the number of exits and protecting the line from breaking. There are two types of execution - front and rear. For beginners, it is not so important where it is located, the main thing is its setting before fishing.

We tie the end of the fishing line and retreat a few meters. We completely tighten the clutch and tighten the fishing line so that the blank gets a characteristic parabolic shape (just don't overdo it). We begin to slowly release the brake until the coil gives back a few centimeters. That's it, setup is complete.

How to choose a spinning reel? Take the coil you like in your hands and inspect all its parts for visible damage. Pay attention to the moving parts first, such as the reel handle, roller bail and spool.

If there is no visible damage, proceed to the next step, namely the search for invisible flaws. Run your finger around the edge of the spool for nicks.

Next, take the bow to the "cast" mode and try to slightly return it back. If the shackle jumped into the operating mode from a light touch, then it is better to refuse such a reel, since when casting the bait, it can spontaneously return the shackle to the winding mode. And this threatens at least - with a loud slap on the water and scaring away the fish, as a maximum - with a break in the fishing line and shooting the bait.

Make a half-turn with the handle with the shackle folded back. It should effortlessly become in the operating mode of winding. Repeat these steps several times. Then just give the starting acceleration and remove your hand. The handle should make another 5-10 turns by inertia.

And finally, just rotate the coil slowly near your ear for internal suspicious noises. If there are none, then try to remove-put on the spool and turn the friction brake. After each click of the brake, the spool should turn harder and harder. This completes the choice of the coil and you can safely pay the seller for the goods.

Catching pike on a spinning rod in the spring

You need to decide whether you will be fishing from the shore or from a boat. Since we are selecting spinning gear for a beginner angler, it is most likely better to focus on more or less universal gear that will perform well under a variety of fishing conditions. Read the detailed guide to

Spinning rods 2.7-3 m long are well suited for the shore, 2.1-2.7 m long for a boat. The arithmetic mean here is a spinning rod 2.7 long, which is why we recommend it.

The best material is composite or carbon spinning rods.

Plug-in spinning rods are more durable, but less portable and mobile when transporting. Telescopic spinning rods are very mobile and strong enough, but, other things being equal, they are inferior to plug-in rods.

First of all, you need to build on your ability to transport a pole rod in a special case. If you have a car and it is convenient for you to bring a 1-length cover to fishing.

5 meters - it is better to take a plug rod. Otherwise buy telescopic spinning.

A fast action rod is the best choice for the beginner spinner. You need to get used to the slow action and it works worse on the most popular two methods of spinning fishing - jigging and twitching.

Choose a spinning test from 10 to 40 g. Thus, you can quite successfully catch both wobblers and heavy jig lures.

In addition to such basic characteristics of rods as action and test, when choosing a spinning rod for pike fishing, one also takes into account its rigidity, casting distance, applicability for various kinds wiring.

Rigidity (effective undercut)

Rigidity is a property of a spinning rod that allows you to make quick and effective hooks, punching baits with a hard pike mouth with hooks. Rigidity depends on:

  • The material from which the blank is made is the most rigid, but at the same time quite heavy and not sensitive, cheap composite and fiberglass rods are. However, their use during active pike fishing tires the hand and also such sticks do not have enough strength and flexibility to catch large specimens. Therefore, pike are caught with slightly less rigid, but light and durable graphite blanks.
  • Wall thicknesses - the thicker the wall of the blank, the more rigid it is.

Casting distance (throwing)

Casting is a characteristic of the range of a rod, depending on factors such as:

  • The length of the blank and the handle - long sticks with a comfortable two-handed handle have the greatest range.
  • The power of the butt - blanks with a thick handle are heavier and, as a result, are capable of accumulating more potential energy when casting, transferred to a far-flying bait.
  • Change in thickness along the length - rods with a more tapered blank, due to more efficient transfer of force generated during casting from the handle to the tip, have a greater casting distance compared to blanks with a working part close to cylindrical, slightly tapering along the entire length of the working part.
  • Type of tip - solid tips transfer the momentum from the handle during casting better than glued tips, making the lure's flight more distant and at the same time accurate.
  • Diameter and number of throughput rings - when the line is dropped from the spool of the reel, the casting distance will be greater if no more than 5-6 throughput rings with a large through diameter are installed on the form. With often located passing rings with a small diameter, the friction force of the fishing line and cord against their surface increases, which reduces the casting distance.

Applicability for different types of wiring

Since they catch pike with the whole arsenal of artificial lures using many different wires, this factor also plays an important role in choosing a blank.

For pike fishing, you can choose a rod that would make it possible to use it when fishing in different conditions, for different postings and lures. Conventionally, it can be called universal. So which one is better to choose spinning for pike?

  • For coastal pike fishing, a universal stick will be 240-270 cm long with a test of 10-30 or 5-25 grams and a sensitive tip. Such a rod will allow you to make accurate casts at the required distances, perform jig, twitching or uniform wiring, produce high-quality hooks and fish out on small rivers and lakes, as well as on large reservoirs and rivers.
  • For boat fishing for trolling and heavy jerkbaits, a short and powerful rod up to 210 cm long and with a test from 40-60 to 100-150 gr is more suitable.

Basic

A metal leash is tied to the main fishing line, to which the bait (spring baits for pike) is attached - a spinner or a wobbler. This equipment is universal and suitable for any conditions.

With jig head

A jig head is attached to a metal leash, on which a silicone bait or foam fish.

With cheburashka

Spinning device for catching fish, consisting of a rod, line and reel.

The first thing a beginner needs to do is decide how he will fish: from a boat, or from land. For catching fish from land, it is necessary to use rods from 2.7 to 4.5 meters in length, and from a boat from 2.1 to 2.7 meters.

The material of manufacture also has a great influence. The best choice is carbon spinning rods. They are very light compared to others, and also less susceptible to various wear and tear, which means they are more reliable in use.

Plug-in - very strong, but not light. When transporting, they are not very convenient, since they are not foldable and therefore they are difficult to place in vehicle.

Telescopic - it is much easier to transport, as they are compact - they are folded into links. Compared to plug-in ones, they are much lighter, but less durable.

Spinning rods come in lengths from 1.5 to 4.5 meters. Most of all, rods from 1.8 to 3.6 meters are in demand, since such spinning rods, of medium length, are considered universal - they are used both on land and on the shore

The action of the rod determines the magnitude of the impact of dynamic loads on the rod.

The test value indicates the weight of the baits that the spinning can withstand. This value is indicated by the manufacturer just above the handle.

Production material:

  1. Fiberglass.
  2. Carbon fiber.
  3. Composite.

It follows that beginners should choose a medium length carbon telescopic spinning rod.

The main elements of spinning equipment for pike are the main fishing line, leash and bait or hook.

The mood of the predator, parking places and its activity largely depend on the time of year. Weather factors have a strong impact on underwater inhabitants and on pike in particular.

Its behavior is affected by water temperature, its transparency and level, the presence of aquatic vegetation, illumination, atmospheric pressure, wind strength and direction, and the phase of the moon. For detailed information see the pike fishing calendar here.

In the spring, the toothy first of all underwater inhabitants goes to spawn. You can still catch it before spawning. It is important to clarify when it is possible to catch pike on spinning, since a spawning ban begins to operate in many reservoirs at this time.

Then, at the end of spawning, the spring zhor begins in the pike, which gradually subsides and the toothy one switches to the summer diet. In the heat, the fish prefers shallow areas, feeds in the surface layer and shows episodic activity.

How to catch pike in the summer for spinning depends on the reservoir. Mostly topwaters and spinners come to the fore. The predator shows its maximum activity in the evening and morning hours, and in the heat of the day it ignores the bait.

With the onset of autumn, the pike has another surge of activity. This is the longest period when the fish is well caught. Of course, there are short-term downturns in the mood of the fish, but you can successfully hunt for it until the freeze-up.

In winter, you can also catch pike on spinning. Recently, more and more extreme fishing enthusiasts have appeared who go to non-freezing areas of reservoirs at low temperatures and manage to return home with a catch.

How to catch a pike on spinning, what baits to use? In different periods and in different conditions, completely different lures work. Their range is very large, so it is difficult for a novice angler to navigate in this variety. Over time, the spinner acquires the necessary universal set, which allows you to hunt for a toothy beast everywhere all year round.

The main lures for pike fishing are as follows:

  • Minnow class wobblers. They are used in twitching - a separate direction of spinning, which is extremely effective for pike.
  • Topwaters: poppers and walkers. They “answer” the question of how best to catch pike on spinning in the summer.
  • Silicone lures. The most versatile and all-weather. Allow to catch toothy everywhere.
  • Spinners. Easy to learn and suitable for shallow areas.
  • Vibrators. The oldest lure that is still relevant in pike fishing.

The remaining types of baits: spinnerbaits, roll wobblers, large streamers, tail spinners and others are specialized and narrowly targeted for pike fishing and are used less frequently than those listed above.

Pike remains the favorite trophy of many spinners, and the angler is looking forward to the start of open water. By open water you can catch a variety of fish, but for us for spinning pike and only pike is the most important trophy.

In the spring, pike can be caught in any reservoir where it is present, the main thing is that it spawns and recovers. If the pike is still sick, then it is unlikely that it will bite on your bait.

This article will focus on how to catch a pike in the spring, because it is during this period that a large peak of spinning activity occurs. We take out a dusty spinning rod from the balcony, look through the baits, buy something new and go to the nearest body of water.

Such a body of water can be a pond overgrown with grass, or a lake, and those who live next to big rivers, lucky even more, because there are always a lot of pike. Since most of the anglers in our country live near large rivers, I will talk about how to catch spring pike on a large river and what advantages such fishing has, but before we start fishing, let's first figure out what gear is better to choose for such fishing.

fishing line

Only 2 options:

  • Braided line (braided cord) is a stronger fishing line, does not stretch, but has a number of disadvantages: it often gets confused in the hands of a novice angler, when casting light lures, loops and beards are formed.
  • Monofilament fishing line (monofilament, monofilament) - the best option for a beginner angler, very obedient and strong enough; of the shortcomings: it stretches, which sometimes makes it difficult to get sensitive small bites on the tip of the rod.

Once you have chosen the right reel, you need to decide which line you will use: braided or monofilament.

The main qualities of a monofilament:

  1. Low cost.
  2. Stretch under load, which affects the sensitivity.
  3. The strength is lower than that of a braided cord.
  4. Great invisibility.

The main qualities of a braided cord:

  1. It is more expensive than monofilament.
  2. Doesn't stretch.
  3. Stronger than monofilament.

The sensitivity, invisibility and strength of the entire equipment depends on the choice of fishing line. It is worth noting that experienced anglers are increasingly choosing braided line. This allows them to take full advantage of the quality characteristics of the rod and better feel the behavior of the lure in the water.

Two types of fishing line can be used for spinning fishing:

  • Braided, characterized by high strength and inextensibility, but in the hands of beginners it can get confused, forming beards when casting light equipment;
  • Monofilament is a fairly obedient and durable fishing line, but unlike braid, it is able to stretch, as a result of which it is not always possible to feel delicate bites.

But still, monofilament (0.2-0.25 mm) is best for beginner spinning. The color does not matter, because almost always the spinning equipment includes a leash made of fluorocarbon wood, which is almost invisible in the water.

Almost everyone has a choice of two main types of fishing line that are used when fishing for pike on a spinning rod - monofilament and braided. Each of them has certain advantages and disadvantages. So, what is the best fishing line for pike spinning?

Monofilament

The main advantages of monofilament fishing line:

  1. ease of laying: ceteris paribus, the monofilament fits on the spool of the reel better than the braided one;
  2. elasticity: the monofilament is easily stretched, absorbing the jerks of the fish during the fight;
  3. low price.

Monofilament Disadvantages:

  1. low sensitivity: due to the fact that the monofilament is highly stretched, the work of the bait and the bite of fish when fishing with them are felt much worse than when using braid;
  2. thickness: monofilament line is much thicker than braided line, and this leads to a decrease in casting distance.

Braided fishing line is a non-stretch high strength fishing line. She also has disadvantages: she often gets confused, loops appear after use.

Monofilament fishing line is just right for a beginner. She is very strong and obedient in her hands.

It can be concluded that monofilament fishing line is more suitable for beginner anglers, since it is easier to use.

fishing line

We have two options - to put monofilament fishing line or braided line. I stick with the second option. The characteristics of the braid are the best suited for this type of fishing.

It does not stretch, does not have a "memory" and is an order of magnitude stronger than a monofilament. The only downside I see is the price. Braid with a section of 0.12-0.14 mm is just what a novice angler needs.

It is wound almost under the side of the spool, 2-3 mm should remain to the edge (to ensure maximum casting). Casting distance is also greatly affected by the thickness of the line - the thinner, the farther your bait will fly. But do not overdo it with a thin fishing line, when casting, the weight of the spinner increases many times over and the fishing line can break (shooting the bait).

Leash

As the main fishing line for pike fishing, you can use:

  • monofilament;
  • braided line;
  • fluorocarbon line.

Monofilament is cheaper than the other two types of lines, but it is not suitable for pike fishing. Due to its strong extensibility, it cannot provide gear with good sensitivity, as a result it turns out to be difficult to perform high-quality lure wiring.

It is also difficult to make a clear cut with a monofilament, breaking through the hard mouth of a pike, especially when fishing at a long distance. The monofil can be used for pike fishing with lures with uniform hauling if you do not need to make long casts.

Braid is the main type of fishing line used for pike hunting with spinning by experienced spinners. It practically does not stretch, thanks to which it provides the spinning with maximum sensitivity.

With it, it is easiest to correctly feed the fish with bait. Also, the braided line with a small diameter has high strength, so you can make long casts with it.

In addition, it is almost not carried away by the flow of water during the wiring on the river across the current.

Fluorocarbon in terms of stretchability and price is the golden mean between monofilament and braided. It can be used as the main fishing line, including for jerky wiring of wobblers.

But more often fluorocarbon is used to make leaders. Its main advantages are minimal visibility to fish - much less than monofilament - and maximum resistance to damage from sharp stones and shells.

It is necessary to choose the right fishing line according to the breaking load. In this case, you can focus on the following numbers:

  • fishing line with a breaking load of about 4.5 kg is suitable for hunting pike weighing up to 2 kg;
  • a thread with a test of up to 7.5 kg should be used if there is a high probability of biting a predator weighing up to 5 kg;
  • line with a breaking load of 10-20 kg must be used if it is intended to catch trophy specimens weighing more than 5 kg.

Wiring technique

Those watching the spinning players from the side get the impression of simplicity this method fishing. It is enough to send the bait far away, and then rotate the coil and wait for a bite.

In fact, anglers have developed several fishing techniques that beginners are not always able to follow.

Well, how did my article “Spinning for Beginners” help you? I look forward to your questions, feedback and comments. To consolidate and expand my knowledge, I suggest watching a video on this topic. Enjoy watching!

We're sorry, the video is being edited.

Horizontal casting allows you to cast the bait much further than vertical casting. It is performed in almost the same way as the previous one, but it differs in the arc that the spinner describes and is more complex in technical execution.

There is a rule that applies to beginners in any field of activity, they are always lucky! But as you know, luck alone is not enough, you still need to have a certain amount of knowledge and experience. After all, no matter how you are theoretically savvy, only repeated practical development of a particular technique leads to a positive result.

How to choose the right spinning rod

First you need to decide for what fishing conditions a rod is selected. Spinning can be caught either from the shore or from a boat. In this case, it is better to focus on universal gear that could be used in any conditions. Unfortunately, this is quite difficult to accomplish, but it is necessary to strive for this.

For fishing from the shore, spinning rods with a length of 2.7 m or more show themselves well, and for a boat - from 2.1 m. Although sometimes, when there are thickets along the banks of the reservoir, long spinning will be a hindrance. In such conditions, it is better to use short spinning rods.

Of great importance is the material from which the spinning is made. Given the fact that you have to throw tackle into the water quite often, it will be good if it has a minimum weight. A good option- these are composite or carbon rods.

On sale you can find telescopic or plug-in blanks. Plug rods are more reliable but less practical as they are difficult to transport (relatively). This is where telescopic rods win: they can be folded up and placed in a regular bag, which is very practical. If you have a personal car, then you can take a plug-in one - there will be no special problems during transportation.

For a beginner spinner, a blank with a fast action is suitable, as it makes it possible to quickly respond to bites. A slower action works harder on jigging and twitching, which requires special skill.

For starters, you can take a rod with a test from 10 to 40g, although such a rod will be difficult to find. Actually, you need to have 2 rods: one for ultralight lures with a test weight of up to 15g and the second for heavier lures with a test of 15 to 30g. In this way, you can organize the versatility of spinning fishing.

To date, all spinningists equip their rods with inertialess reels. Suitable for a beginner spinner spinning reel size 2000-3000. These numbers mean that 100 m of fishing line with a diameter of 0.2-0.3 mm can be wound on such a reel. As practice shows, this amount of fishing line is quite enough for spinning fishing, both from the shore and from a boat.

When choosing a reel, you should pay attention to the presence of a friction brake, either front or rear. Many reels, size 2000, do not have such a brake, and why would such a reel, which is designed for catching big fish. Therefore, the task of the spinning player is to choose a reliable reel with all the functionality, even if it is a beginner spinning player.

The right choice of line

From right choice line will depend on how versatile the spinning angler is. Therefore, there are only two options:

  • braided fishing line, or, as it is also called a braid, as well as a braided cord. This is a fairly strong fishing line, but its use requires training, which a beginner spinner does not have;
  • monofilament fishing line or monofilament, as it is also called, is ideal option for a beginner. It is elastic, moderately strong and can be easily handled by a novice angler.

Both lines have their own advantages and disadvantages. If you take a braid, then it has a minimum specific stretch, compared to monofilament, which makes spinning more sensitive at long distances.

Monofilament line is best used on short distances, where it is no worse than a braided cord. The color of the fishing line does not play a special role, but it is believed that the most suitable colors are dark colors: green, black or colorless - white.

Catching perch on a leash

The assembly of a spinning pole consists in joining two knees so that the rings of the first knee are in line with the rings of the second. After the rod is assembled, the tightness of the connection is checked - the spinning is shaken well a couple of times, simulating a sharp cast.

If the sections are not joined tightly, vibration will be felt in the hand from the movement of a poorly joined upper section with the lower one - such a connection is carefully manually sealed and checked again.

Spinning equipment includes the following steps:

  • Installing the reel foot into the groove of the reel seat.
  • Fixing the reel by clamping its leg in the front or rear reel seat (depending on the type of reel seat) with a nut.
  • With the shackle of the line stacker thrown to the side, winding the required amount of fishing line, passing it through a number of throughput rings of the form.
  • When fishing for pike, a thin tungsten leash is necessarily tied to the end of the withdrawn fishing line or cord.
  • The bait is fastened to the clasp of the leash.

Finally

To summarize the entire article, repeat and summarize:

  • For pike, only hard rods with ultra-fast and fast action are suitable.
  • The length of the rod is chosen taking into account the conditions of fishing and the need for long-distance casts - long-range sticks 300-330 cm long are more applicable on large reservoirs, while for fishing on small rivers, lakes and ponds, where long-distance casts are not required, but hanging over the water trees and bushes do not allow the use of long sticks, 210-240 cm rods are more suitable.
  • For boat fishing, the shortest rods are used, from 180 to 210 cm long.
  • Twitching, jerking and trolling require stiffer rods; jig baits, poppers, rotating and small oscillating baubles - spinning rods with a soft sensitive tip.

What determines success when fishing on spinning

Currently, many anglers still do not know how to fish with a spinning rod. This method is a fairly effective way to catch a predator. With it, the angler must do everything possible to outwit the object of fishing. The fisherman must convince the predator that this is not an artificial bait, but a real prey that is easy to catch and feast on.

However, do not think that this is something simple. The success of fishing with the presented tackle will entirely depend on the knowledge of some nuances, favorite places of predatory fish, time and depth of fishing, choice of bait, time of day, weather conditions suitable for fishing, type of fish, its size and other factors. Let's try together to analyze the fishing of a predator from a variety of angles, so that later you can go fishing and be confident in your own abilities.

What kind of fish can be caught with this method

This method implies that the angler will play the bait in such a way that predatory fish will pay attention to it and begin to attack, deciding that it is an easy prey in front of it. Before we learn how to fish with this method, let's talk about exactly what types of fish can be caught using spinning. Fishing should begin with determining the features, because the choice of promising fishing spots, the method of wiring gear and the choice of lures depend on this. The following types of fish are caught using this method:

Wobblers that catch 100%:

  • Zander;
  • Perch;
  • Pike;
  • Bursh;
  • Chub;
  • Asp;
  • Burbot;
  • Trout;
  • Salmon and more

How to catch on spinning

Proper fishing is one that allows you to enjoy the catch. You need to learn and learn to follow certain rules. The main rules are: a good cast, a competent choice of place, the introduction of a spinner (other gear) and the choice of bait. True, there is one small nuance, namely: correct fishing will be a reality only if the fisherman can combine theory and practice.

As soon as you came to the reservoir, do not rush to cast. To begin with, you need to choose the most promising place for fishing and only then make a cast. All movements should be as smooth and accurate as possible, strength rarely decides everything here. It is not necessary to change the place of casting often, it is better to make 5-10 casts in each direction and, if there is no result, move to some other place. Now, you fully know how to fish on a spinning lure and can independently engage in this exciting business!

What kind of fish are caught on spinning? Chapter from Viktor Andreev's book "Technique and Tactics in Spinning": optimal tackle, catchy baits, effective wiring, spinning technique and tactics - what kind of fish can be caught and what kind can be caught on spinning.

What kind of fish are caught on spinning?

Spinning can theoretically catch any fish. Most often, anglers come across predators: pike, perch, pike perch, bersh, asp, catfish, trout, salmon, trout. Often, semi-predatory chub, ide and grayling also peck, and you can also catch even conditionally peaceful fish: sabrefish, rudd, roach, bream, bleak. If only in our reservoir this fish was ...

It is clear that each fish needs its own tackle and bait, and there are fewer and fewer fish in the reservoirs - therefore, in reality, spinningists usually catch only 1-3 "close" types of fish: pike and perch, pike perch and bersh, ide and chub .. And this is still good - but it happens that they don’t catch anything either ... It’s not for nothing that they say that going fishing and going fishing are far from the same thing ...

The first choice is subjective: what kind of fish can you CATCH with spinning?

The first question that arises even when preparing for fishing is who, in fact, will we catch? The answer to it is connected for the most part with our character and fishing habits. As they say, tastes differ, so the following options are possible here:

Fishing for pleasure or food?

In fact, the question is not quite correct, because the first does not exclude the second at all, and vice versa. However, for most spinning anglers, fishing is primarily recreation and pleasure. This part - voluntarily or involuntarily - includes almost all anglers from large cities who have to go fishing. Indeed, now in 99% of such cases, the caught fish (if any) does not even justify the cost of tackle and gasoline, not to mention boats, vouchers and overnight stays. But you can always have fun, because every rare fishing trip is a holiday!

It is clear that the measure of pleasure is primarily the number of bites and fish caught, and only then - the weight of the catch. Therefore, many prefer to catch heels of perch better than one pike, even if twice the weight. And to realize the excitement of sports - you can use the lightest gear. Then the 100-gram "sailor" will bend the rod into an arc, and it will take several minutes to pull it out. And it turns out that catching bleak on a spinning rod is no less reckless. Pike - after all, anyone will catch it! And here you have to be smart! No wonder there are more and more fans of "ultralight".

By the way, if there is no cat at home, then the “prey” is released back without regret.

If the spinning player has a river at his side, and go fishing at least every day, then the philosophy is different. I want not only to relax, but also fish on the table! And here already one pike “outweighs” the heels of perches in the mind - and there is something to brag about, and there is less work for the wife. Although there are a lot of romantics here too - I went out to the pond, threw a lure, talked with the same fishermen ... Is it normal, Grigory? Excellent, Konstantin!

Catch a specific fish or all in a row?

The easiest way is for those anglers who go, for example, only for pike. And - not less than a kilogram. By the way, quite often one has to see such spinners who have one baubles for all occasions - and it seems that it is not tied up until it breaks. It is from them that you usually hear phrases like: “Here it only bites on a yellow oscillator!” Despite their apparent simplicity, these anglers are very mobile, they know exactly what they want and do not suffer from the issue of choosing the best bait. Agree, this is better than carrying a bunch of gear with you - and not knowing what to grab onto.

The other extreme is to catch everything that can be caught. However, this requires a lot of all kinds of tackle and lures, as well as enough time for constant re-equipment. And time is usually not enough. Yes, and carrying two rods and a box of baits with you when fishing from the shore is very inconvenient. But on stationary fishing - next to a camp or a car - it is quite possible to catch "everything". For example, if a trifle started to “beat” - run to the tent and take the “ultralight” - not a problem. The same can be said about fishing from a boat, where 2-3 equipped spinning rods will always fit.

There is always a “golden mean” between two extremes. Therefore, some kind of compromise-universal option is most often used, which allows you to catch at least 3-4 of the most interesting species of fish with one tackle. And even though such tackle is not ideal for a particular type of predator, it is optimal for interesting multifaceted fishing and is mobile.

By the way, for relative versatility, just an additional spool is enough. Wrap a thinner monofilament there and you can quickly switch from pike to perch. After all, a small bait, but on a thin line, will be thrown even by a relatively hard spinning rod. And, by loosening the friction brake, we will protect the weak lips of the “striped” from breaking off during hooking and fighting. Another example - an additional spool with a thin “braid” will allow you to quickly switch from medium weight heads to the lightest jigs for medium-sized (such as perch) or “unexpected” (such as ide and chub) predators.

Catch trophy fish or all in a row?

A special group of spinners are lovers of trophy fishing. As a rule, they do not recognize prey less than a kilogram, and the “norm” is usually considered a weight of 2-3 kg, although they often catch “crocodiles” of 5-10 kg each. However, such fishing requires not only special gear (and, as a rule, a boat), but also a special tactical approach. And most importantly - patience!

So, choose for yourself - what is more in character for you.

The second choice is an objective one: what kind of fish can you Catch with a spinning rod.

The second choice is no longer connected with the angler, but with the activity of biting predators. Although here the decision is not at all unambiguous and to a large extent depends on our temperament.

The classic question "what to do?" stands in front of every spinner on every fishing trip.

Looking for active fish or grinding out passive ones? Or steadfastly wait for the "exit"? Or maybe switch to other types of predators?

Frankly, I myself still do not have a clear answer to all these questions. Too much may depend on specific conditions. Options - darkness, but it is still impossible to evaluate them correctly. After all, if you catch one, there is simply nothing to compare with, and even in a team everyone has their own level and their own preferences. And yes, age matters too.

I remember that in my younger years, gear was “to a minimum”, and I didn’t know so many catchy places - therefore, the catch was mainly collected with “feet”. Remember the saying: "For a gambling fisherman - ten miles is not a hook"? I wanted to see everything faster, check every river and lake. Slowly, reservoirs were recognized and experience was accumulated. Recently (perhaps due to age) I have been more inclined to “persuade” fish with new baits and sophisticated fishing techniques. Naturally, at proven 100 percent "points".

After all, what bites better “beyond that turn” is not at all a fact. If reeds and sedges are everywhere, the fish should take about the same. But if there is a hole or a roll around the corner - run there!

That is, if our reservoir does not have pronounced catching "points" (both visible and invisible), then the fish is distributed relatively evenly here. This means that you can find its accumulation only in "hidden" places - on the edges, "tables" or in snags - which are detected either with the help of an echo sounder, or by continuous "combing", or by chance. What if you get lucky?

On the other hand, the activity of predators in the water area can vary greatly. This is especially true for those that feed mainly on large prey. For example, a full-grown pike can swallow fish up to a third (and some sources say up to half) of its own weight. It will take 1-2 days to digest such a hearty meal. And, as you know, "crocodiles" keep alone, and they do not like competitors near them. Therefore, sometimes even in interesting areas there may not be a bite all day. This means that it does not make sense to linger here for a long time - you need to look for active and hungry fish in other places. Paradoxical as it may seem, but with a bad bite, it is often high-speed fishing that helps out, which allows you to check for an active predator as much as possible a large area of water.

If predators feed on small fish, then their activity is much higher. After all, in order to get enough, the hunter needs to catch more than one "little one", and they will be digested several times faster. Therefore, unlike pike, catching perch and zander is in a sense easier. In addition, collective predators are fundamentally more greedy, because in the flock the law “who had time - he ate” constantly operates. This means that a wide search for fish is especially relevant here for a spinner.

By the way, it is not so difficult to determine how long a predator has been eating - you just need to gut it and see what is in the stomach. If 2-3 caught specimens turned out to be “empty”, then it is likely that other fish are also hungry. After all, both solitary and schooling predators often feed with a certain cyclicity: by time, by weather, or by the presence of accumulations of forage fish. Therefore, the empty stomach of prey (which in pike can be determined even by touch) is already a reason for some optimism.

However, there are periods when, due to some abnormal weather phenomena, the biting of fish in the entire water area deteriorates sharply. For example, total bitelessness is often observed during sudden pressure surges, magnetic storms, or other adverse conditions. In these cases, it hardly makes sense to move around the water area a lot - even if the predators are hungry, they are still not active due to their diseased state. Here it is better to stop at a well-known catchy place and try to "force" the fish into smaller baits, and even the slowest and, moreover, uneven wiring.

The same can be recommended when predators are clearly "naughty". That is, the fish seems to follow the bait, and sometimes even tries to grab it - in any case, some kind of pokes and delays are felt. Probably, in this case, you should not look for something else, somewhere far away, whether it bites or not - but it is better to try to “extort” what is nearby. But here you already have to contrive from the heart with both baits and wires. True, when you know for sure that there is a fish, that it is somewhere nearby, it becomes much more fun to catch.

Fortunately, there is no evil without good. After all, a fish cannot die of hunger, all the same, it must eat. Therefore, short-term, and even total lack of bite, when favorable conditions occur, will certainly be replaced by a good bite - and possibly even “zhor”. Just don't miss this moment!

By the way, unfavorable conditions for fish and bad weather in our understanding are not the same thing at all. Often the opposite is true - unexpected zhor is observed, for example, in strong winds, and even with rain. And even in late autumn or winter - it seems to be at a minimum water temperature - sometimes you get on such a bite - do not forget forever!

Well, for those who do not want to wait for the weather by the sea, there is a backup option. It is no secret that different predators hunting in the same area and even at the same time live “in antiphase” with competitors. That is, the pike is passive, which means that the perch is active, and vice versa. Or another example, when a peculiar queue of the evening “going out” for a rift is observed - first asp, then chub and, finally, pike perch. Our decision in both cases is logical - to switch to catching another, now more active predator.

But if the predator is still “defending”, fishing tactics should be based on the fact that we ourselves should actively look for fish, and not vice versa. Considering that “sloppy” places are usually pits or snags with a quiet current, all potentially suitable places should be consistently and slowly fished.

A special case is catching an "outgoing" predator. Each reservoir has "temporarily" catch points, which predators go periodically during the day - for breakfast, lunch and dinner. And sometimes - only for dinner. Since the fish clearly comes out to "eat" - it is very active at this time. It happens that you find an interesting place on the echo sounder, you throw it, you throw it - deaf. Just drove off, someone else stands on your "point" and begins to drag one fish after another. You come back - and you have bite after bite. Here it is - the "exit"!

It is clear that it is not the bait itself that is important for the “coming out” predator, the main thing is to cast it in time. Therefore, it is useful here to be on duty all day on your own or with friends - and gradually draw up a “schedule” for biting. Often, such a schedule is maintained to within half an hour for quite a long time - until there are significant changes in the level or state of the water. In the meantime, we are very lucky - you can fish "by the hour." Imagine, someone threw and threw all day - and nothing! And we came or sailed in the evening for an hour or two - and were caught! The beauty!

Spinning is considered a sports tackle for catching predatory fish with natural or artificial baits. Many now thought, why teach someone at all correct fishing fish for spinning, because there is nothing complicated, he threw it and dragged it. But it's not so simple here. Surely, if everything were so easy, no one would fish at all with spinning.

Anglers identify many factors for success in fishing, namely: weather, luck, season, skills, and of course the reservoir itself. And those who think that buying branded tackle for a lot of money will bring an unprecedented catch are very mistaken. After all, how can you fish on an expensive spinning rod equipped with the coolest reel and bait without even knowing the basics of spinning fishing. Now closer to the question itself.

Many people have a question, how to catch fish on a spinning rod. And some just leave this problem to chance, while others make every effort to learn this interesting activity. If you still set yourself the task of learning how to fish on a spinning rod, then you should know some tricks. First of all, you need to clearly imagine under what conditions you will catch and decide on the type of fish. After the fishing conditions are finally set, you can safely pack up and go to the store for spinning and accessories for it.

After everything is purchased, it is necessary to collect and prepare gear. It won't be too difficult:

  • First you need to install a spinning reel. Then equip it with fishing line. Please note that the distance between the coil and the first ring should not be less than 30 centimeters and more than 40;
  • The length of the fishing line is usually about 60 meters. But it all depends on the conditions of fishing. If it is necessary to make long casts, then the fishing line will have to be wound more, and if there is no need for long casts, then the extra line will be useless;
  • Depending on the type of fish you are going to catch, a leash is attached to the end of the fishing line. If you are going to catch a pike, then the leash should be set to an elongated one, preferably metal, do not put leashes on perch and pike perch;
  • Spinning is almost ready for fishing, it remains only to fix the bait on the cable with a carabiner.

After long gatherings and preparations, the most important and long-awaited moment comes, fishing itself. And so, you got to the place of fishing, what to do next? And then you need to throw the tackle into the water. After casting, you must wait until the bait reaches the bottom. After touching the bottom, you need to bring it to the working depth and conduct it in accordance with the chosen tactics and fishing technique. And then the angler can only carry out the bait over and over again, waiting for the trophy to be caught.

Spinning for pike

Anglers are discovering new ways and techniques for catching pike every day. Thanks to this, today there are a huge number of techniques for catching pike on spinning. Some argue that some are easier to catch, others are more difficult, but how anglers actually determine this, each for himself. With baits, the situation is the same as with equipment, some allow you to catch a big pike at great depths, while others bring only small pencils instead of trophies. Lures for pike fishing are classified into the following: spinners, spinners, silicone baits, wobblers, jerk baits, spinner baits. Everyone chooses a bait based on the conditions of fishing and the size of the desired trophy.

The key to success when catching pike on spinning is the right place, suitable fishing tactics, weather conditions, and of course luck. After all, without luck on fishing in any way.

Catching perch on spinning

It is best to catch perch early in the morning or 1.5-2 hours before dark. Anglers have noticed these two periods of time as the peak of striped activity. This is explained very simply, early in the morning the daytime zhor begins at the perch, but before dusk the striped one goes on an evening hunt, as a rule, it lasts not for long, but quite actively.

Experience shows that the tactic of quickly and consistently changing baits works very well. For example, if the perch does not want to take on silicone worms, then you need to try to put a vibrotail and often the attack of the perch does not take long.

As for perch fishing spots, you should not pass by shallow water areas, as flocks of perch are usually seen there. It is worth paying attention to all places of possible parking, that is, to thickets of reeds, backwaters and snags. Perch is caught very well in pits or sudden changes in depth.

The chub is interesting in that it comes to the lifestyle of a predator as it grows. Interestingly, with a weight of about 300 grams, it feeds only on fry, and with further growth, its diet begins to consist of fish and plant foods. This allows you to catch on spinning chub only test sizes.

The chub is caught on sandbanks with a fast current, on whirlpools and stone blockages. The chub is easy to spot on the water, it jumps out of it, hunting for insects. It is best to catch a chub on a spinning rod after spawning. As for the time of day, the activity of the chub is observed to be stable throughout the day. Spinning baits allow you to catch chub before the first frost. Fish hunt in packs, and if you managed to find one of them, then you definitely won’t go home without a catch.

Catching asp on spinning

Asp fishing on spinning begins immediately after it spawns, that is, at the end of April. During this period, it is necessary to look for it in a fast current and in shallow areas of the reservoir.

As soon as a promising place is found, it remains only to send a turntable or wobbler into the water using a spinning rod. If you have the opportunity to go out on the water on a boat, then you can try to catch asp on a spinning track. The main thing is to properly set up the tackle and luck will not bypass you.

Catching zander on spinning

Many anglers say that it is best to catch pike perch on a spinning rod using uniform and stepped wiring.

Heavy jigs and jig baits are best suited for stepped wiring. heavy weight, this is necessary for quick dive lures to the bottom. For uniform wiring, it is better to take smaller oscillators and wobblers. For fishing from the shore, uniform wiring is used, stepped wiring is best done from a boat.

The pike perch bites very strongly and it has a rather tough skin, therefore, for effective hooking, it must be very sharp and accurate.

Those anglers who have never fished for spinning, but only watched this process, think that there is nothing complicated in fishing for spinning. At first glance, it seems that for good fishing gently just throw the bait into the water and pull it to the shore. But not everything is so simple, anglers use different wiring and their combinations, which are quite difficult to repeat for beginners. To obtain certain skills of catching fish on a spinning rod, you need to study at least the most simple ways tooling wiring.

The simplest wiring is considered uniform. There is nothing special about her. First you need to send the bait into the water. After the bait touches the bottom, the angler begins to pull the bait to the shore, not very quickly and evenly, without sharp jerks. Such wiring is universal for all baits. One has only to change the speed of rotation of the coil depending on the weight of the bait, the heavier it is, the faster you need to rotate the coil. Some recommend making short stops and sharp jerks with the bait.

More complex wiring is twitching. It is used for fishing with wobblers. After bringing the bait to the working depth, it is necessary to make a sharp short jerk with the tip of the spinning rod and stop, and during the pause, wind the extra line on the reel. It is worth starting the study of the basics of spinning fishing with slow movements, gradually bringing them to automatism.

Well, the most difficult wiring is a jig. Use it for fishing with soft lures (silicone, foam rubber, etc.). The essence of such wiring is the stepwise movement of the bait with sharp rises up and smooth lowering to the bottom. After touching the bottom with the bait, you need to make 2 sharp turns of the coil. After that, you need to pause until the bait touches the bottom. The touch of the day with the bait is usually tracked along the tip of the spinning rod. The pause time is determined by the type of fish you plan to catch. For example, pike perch loves when the bait quickly falls to the bottom, and the pause is very short. Pike, on the other hand, likes smoother movements of the bait and long pauses.

Spinning fishing is not the last place among amateur anglers and athletes. Learning the Basics fishing on spinning, the fisherman is given the opportunity to make changes to the equipment, come up with his own combinations of postings and much more.

Spinning fishing begins immediately after the ice begins to melt and an indescribable beauty opens before the fishermen - the water surface. But this period brings consequences - floods, and after the flood comes clouding of the water, which has a very negative effect on the biting of predatory fish. After the flood, as soon as the water level in the rivers and lakes returns to its usual state, active spinning fishing begins, which continues until the fish completely refuse to feed.

In the first month of summer, the predator still continues to be active, and with the onset of July, the fish biting sharply decreases and a complete lull sets in, which drags on until autumn.

In autumn, the fish begin to fatten before wintering. Autumn fishing with spinning is considered the most effective and spectacular. Spinners can count on a good catch in any reservoir where there is a predatory fish.

In autumn, the probability of catching a trophy specimen is very high. Autumn can rightfully be considered best time for spin fishing. In autumn, all types of predators are active.

Spinningists place special emphasis on pike, during this period it actively hunts for fry and takes all the baits with appetite. Her greed for spinning baits is explained by the pike's active fat gain before wintering. And as everyone knows, fat is best gained from meat food, that is, from eating fish.

Spinning rods are selected in accordance with the selected baits. The greater the weight of the intended bait, the more test you need to choose for the rod. But it would be best to go fishing with several sets of rods with different tests.

Spinning fishing video

Fishing for spinning, learning to catch perch, zander and pike

The video perfectly reveals the topic of spin fishing for the most popular types of predatory fish, such as pike, pike perch and perch. The video deals with spinning fishing with soft lures using jig wiring. On soft lures, hunting for zander takes place, with moments of a combination of various wiring techniques and the selection of catchy baits.

Perch fishing takes place on poppers in the rolling part of the Volga delta. Poppers were chosen as the main bait for pike fishing due to the fact that shallow water areas with an abundance of vegetation were identified as promising places. Anglers give a brief excursion on the correct wiring of the popper.

Due to the popularity of the spinner as the main bait for pike, this bait was also not left to gather dust in the box, which led to the capture of a good pike. Very catchy baits for shallow water were also considered - walkers, with consideration of the most catchy models and the correct wiring.

Also, spinning equipment, such as a reel and fishing line, did not go unnoticed. The main parameters that you should pay attention to when choosing a spinning rod, reel and thread are highlighted.

And by the end of the fishing, we dismantled fishing with spinning rods for wobblers and non-catching baubles.

Spinning fishing. Spinning for a beginner

The 56th episode of a fishing program from the Shcherbakov brothers called Spinning for Beginners. In which all questions arising from beginner spinningists are considered, namely: the choice of spinning, the choice of a reel, the choice of fishing line, equipment and small accessories, and of course the balance of gear. In conclusion, the wiring of the jig bait with control along the fishing line from the shore and from the boat is considered in detail.

Spinning fishing in winter from Mikhalych

Fishing takes place on the Southern Bug on January 10th in open water. In view of the low temperature conditions, winter spinning is presumably caught with ultralight. Perch becomes the main prey. Anglers discover a lot of new things and talk about all the intricacies of perch fishing with ultralight spinning.

Spinning fishing is considered the most popular in the world, although, compared to the same float fishing, appeared relatively recently (about 200 years ago). Spinning originated as an alternative to live bait fishing.

Anglers did not always have the opportunity to catch a live fish or fly, so they began to use artificial imitations as baits. It turned out that predatory fish attacks moving objects similar to fish no worse than live bait fish. Spinning began to rapidly gain popularity.

If we draw an analogy with other fishing methods, we can conclude that spinning is closest to trolling and fly fishing. In general, as many experts believe, spinning arose as a derivative of catching on the track from a floating boat. Anglers were looking for a way to fish with artificial lures from the shore, so they began to use rods with reels to make long casts of heavy lures.

A tackle similar to spinning is used by fly-fishers who fish from the shore with a fly. But if in fly fishing the casting is carried out due to a heavy cord, then in spinning the bait itself acts as a burden.

It is very interesting that fly fishing with spinning lures is not allowed. But you can use a fly, in combination with a classic spinning rod. For fishing by spinning on a fly from the shore, many different rigs have been invented. The most effective are the bombard and the water-filled float.

The fly is connected to the fishing line with a short leash. A special float is tied to the end of the fishing line, which has positive buoyancy and a sufficiently large own mass. The equipment is thrown to the desired point or floated downstream. The float keeps the fly afloat and allows you to track its location from the shore. To revive the fly, the angler makes slight twitches with the tip of the spinning rod. Circles diverge from the bait, and it becomes easier for the fish to detect the fly.

Structure

On spinning you need to learn to catch for a long time. To become a successful angler, you need to be able to choose catchy baits, make the right entries, make a slow haul of a trophy, etc. But the first thing to start with is the development of casting techniques.

It is possible to describe in words how to cast spinning correctly, but this is a completely thankless task, since you need to learn how to cast spinning exclusively in practice under the guidance of a more experienced mentor. In this case, sensations are much more important than strict adherence to technique. Simply put, you need to find the casting method that suits you best.

Casting is best to start from the shore. There is less space in the boat, so there will be nowhere to roam. Find an open area of the coast where there will be no trees and bushes. It is also desirable that there are no algae and fallen trees in the water. At the beginning of training, try to just throw the bait in the right direction for a long distance. When the casting is a little mastered, you can train accuracy. Throw a stick into the water, and try to put the bait as close to it as possible. In a couple of days of training, you will throw spinning from the shore like professionals.

Keep in mind that the first pancake will most likely be lumpy. At first, the fishing line will often get confused, the bait will fly away in an unknown direction. This is fine. To reduce training costs, I advise you to wind the cheapest fishing line on the spool, and tie a teardrop-shaped end sinker instead of a bait with a hook. It will be easy to extract from any bushes.

The first spinning does not have to be expensive. But the cheapest one is also not worth taking, because. poor tackle will greatly complicate learning, and in general, can cause disappointment in this interesting and lucrative way of fishing.

Now on sale there are a lot of rods and reels of the budget price segment. When choosing a rod, pay attention to carbon models, costing up to 2000 rubles.

The optimal length of the spinning rod is 2.1 m. Such tackle can be equally comfortably caught from the shore or from a boat. The test is chosen by fish. If medium-sized fish predominate in your area, buy a stick with dough up to 15 or up to 21 grams. But if there are a lot of cereals in the places where you will be fishing, you should take a more powerful stick and focus on the dough up to 40, or even up to 60 g.

The coil, for starters, you need to buy an inexpensive, but high-quality. In order not to make a mistake when choosing, focus on products from companies such as Rioby, Shimano, Daiwa, SPRO. These companies have good lines of budget coils, costing from 2000 to 4000 rubles. The size of the reel is selected depending on the rod:

  1. To equip spinning rods with dough up to 21 g, it is better to use reels of size 2000-2500.
  2. For rods with test up to 40 g, reels sized 3000-3500 are suitable.
  3. Powerful spinning reels need powerful reels sized 4000-5000.

What to wind on the spool: fishing line or braided line? If you are going to fish only with spinners, then you can use a monofilament. But if you plan to fish with silicone baits and wobblers, then it is advisable to put a cord. Cord is more expensive than monofilament, however, there are many inexpensive braids on the market. For beginners, I would recommend buying a Power Pro cord.

The diameter is selected based on the rod test:

  • 0.1-0.12 for rods with test up to 15 g;
  • 0.12-0.14 - for spinning rods with dough up to 21-25 g;
  • 0.14-0.16 - for spinning rods with dough up to 25-40 g;
  • 0.18 - for heavy rods, class "heavy" (test up to 60 g).

  • Wobblers;
  • Jig baits;
  • Spinners.

Whether to attribute the fly to spinning baits or not is a big question. For example, I regularly use a large dry fly (streamer) when catching zander and perch, so for me this is the most spinning bait.

On the shelves of large stores you can see thousands, and even tens of thousands of different baits. Beginning spinners are usually stumped when it comes to choosing. What to buy? What kind of bait can definitely catch fish? Here you can go in two ways: either spy on what is in the arsenal of more experienced anglers, or simply buy what you like best.

IMPORTANT! When buying bait, ask other spinners or the seller how to fish with it. Each bait is designed for certain conditions of fishing and wiring. It may happen that the lure you like is completely unsuitable for fishing in the places where you usually go.

In addition to gear and lures, the angler needs to buy a few more items, without which spinning fishing is simply unimaginable.

Best bite time

“How to catch a lot of fish on spinning?” - a question that all beginners ask. The success of novice spinningists almost always leaves much to be desired.

Therefore, in order to definitely catch something, it is better to go fishing in August or early autumn. Why in August? By this time, the summer heat has already subsided a little, the fish begin to slowly become more active, and eat up their sides before winter. August is the best time to fish for pike and perch. Also, at this time, catfish and pike perch are excellent. These nocturnal predators are best caught in the morning and evening dawns. In August, the nights are already quite long, so that the evening fishing will not start too late.

Please note that zhor in August is uneven. Several short-term exits may occur during the day. Biting in August can be intense in the morning, or it can start in the afternoon. Each body of water has its own hours of zhora. If you know them - very well. You can come to the reservoir to the beginning of the "exit". But if the reservoir is new for you, then in August it is better to spend the whole day on it, waiting for the “glue” time.

In August, the best results when fishing for pike and perch can be achieved by catching shallow water areas heavily overgrown with grass.

In such areas, surface baits such as walkers and poppers work best, as well as wobblers with a depth of up to 30 cm. Pike perch and catfish in August, as in other months, should be caught in deep pits with a hard bottom, using silicone lures on jigheads.

What is autumn fishing? In autumn, fish bite on spinning no worse than in August. But in order to achieve a good bite, you need to use larger baits. Before winter, the fish actively eat up the sides, therefore, it gives priority to large prey, which contains more nutrients.

What is the best spinning rod for perch fishing from the shore?

Each type of fish has its favorite foods, habitats, bait or bait to which it reacts. And the fishermen, in pursuit of worthwhile trophies, are trying in every possible way to please the whims of fish individuals. A properly selected spinning rod for representatives of different fish families will significantly increase the chances of a catch.

What is spinning?

Spinning is a tackle much shorter than a rod. As a rule, its length is from 1.7 to 3.3 m. It is made, in particular, from materials:

  • carbon;
  • fiberglass;
  • composite.

Each of the materials is quite durable and is successfully used in fishing equipment. But for perch fishing, it is best to take a rod made of mixed materials.

Why mixed?

  • If buy carbon spinning, then with a light blow on a branch or something else, a microcrack occurs. And then when cutting, they just break. This happens quite often for beginners. Therefore, they must be handled very carefully. It is ideal for more experienced anglers.
  • As for fiberglass, it is not sensitive enough and not very flexible for perch fishing. Even if the test on it is from 0.3 to 0.17 g, it still doesn’t feel as good as it should. Most often they are used either for pike or for feeder.
  • Composite. A rod made of this material is most often mixed with carbon. In addition, if the tackle is cheaper than carbon and carbon is written on it, then 100% composite spinning.

Composite is the middle option between fiberglass and carbon fiber. But, it is very inferior to carbon fiber spinning rods, because of its insensitivity. But its huge plus is that most often they are universal equipment.

The mixed variant will show even minimal bass strike, and is more flexible and reliable in strength.

Spinning classes

All spinning rods are divided into classes:

  • ultralight (light), its test range is from 0.2 to 15 g;
  • average from 15 to 30 g;
  • heavier class from 30 g and above.

What is a test?

The spinning test is indicated on each rod or spinning rod. It looks like numbers, for example test 0.3 - 12 gr. This means that the tackle is designed for a wobbler, silicone or spinner of the specified weight.

What is a build?

Action is the flexibility of the rod. For perch fishing, it is better to choose the most flexible spinning rod. The softer it is, the more sensitive the bite will be. They are divided into 4 structures:

  1. Super fast (extra fast). The rod is very stiff, only the tip itself bends.
  2. Fast (fast). The rod is stiff, weakly bent and very sensitive, but it is not capable of long-distance casting, but it has a high casting accuracy.
  3. The middle system (medium) bends to the middle.
  4. A small system (slow) makes the most distant casting, but has low sensitivity, and not a very accurate hit.

Its choice depends on the type of reservoir on which perch fishing will take place.

What to look for when buying

When choosing spinning, you should not save. It is better to buy a branded thing once that will last for more than one year than to change equipment every fishing trip or buy a new rod.

Points to pay attention to:

  • It should not crackle when bent, this indicates microcracks.
  • Light spinning for perch will great option.
  • All rings must be securely glued.
  • The mount for the coil should be metal and not soft.
  • The handle, holder should be very comfortable and soft in the hands. After all, sometimes you have to walk with spinning for more than one hour.
  • The threads at the end of the handle on the cap and on the reel should not be stripped, this is definitely worth checking.
  • There should be no scratches or serifs on the spinning rod itself.

You should pay attention to all suspicious points and ask questions to the seller.

How to choose perch spinning for beginners

The choice of spinning for catching perch from the shore

Spinning for perch is a very delicate matter, each angler has his own taste, but the best and most common option looks like this.

Average characteristics of spinning perch:

  • spinning should be light, so ultralight;
  • dough from 0.2 to 0.15 g;
  • the length of the spinning rod for fishing from the shore should be in the range from 1.7 to 2.1 m (from a boat 1.5 m);
  • the system is preferably medium, although it all depends on the place of fishing;
  • material, it is better to be mixed with carbon.

For catching perch on spinning, you need light rigging, but very sensitive and long-range. If these moments coincide, then the bite will always be visible, and the fishing was a success.

Fishing lessons on spinning [fishing school. spinning class]

So that unexpected technical moments do not cause trouble while fishing, take with you tools that will help cut the fishing line or cord, for example, wire cutters, and a yawner to pull the hook out of the fish's mouth. If fishing takes place in small rivers, then do not rush to cast to the depth, in such reservoirs the fish can stand near the shore. Jig fishing is the easiest way to fish with spinning rods. For this, jig heads are used.

Spinning for beginners

After the bait reaches the bottom, we turn the reel, slightly raise the bait above the bottom and lower it down again. The fact that the bait has reached the bottom will be signaled to us by a sensitive tip, it will stand straight, without bending, and the fishing line will no longer be stretched, it will sag. Get ready for the fact that the bottom of the reservoir is filled with various branches, snags and other objects that will constantly cling to your bait, this will not bring much pleasure.

Another type of fishing is twitching, this is catching fish on wobblers. If jig fishing is carried out at the bottom, then twitching will be at your fingertips. You will be able to see for yourself how the fish will grab your bait.

Twitching is a wiring that consists of long or short jerks. The fishing technique consists in twitching with a spinning rod and small pauses between jerks. Twitching uses lures called poppers, wobblers, minows. Thanks to this video, you will get the opportunity to understand many of the intricacies and nuances of spinning fishing, learn a lot useful information about the pike, its habits and preferences. It is during these periods, which occur twice a year, that pike is the easiest prey for a spinner. We hope you enjoy this educational video tutorial, thanks to which you will be able to learn a lot of new and useful information about spinning pike fishing. Subsequently, all kinds of overalls, waders, special boots, a wicker basket for storing caught fish, etc. will definitely appear in the equipment. There are no mandatory conditions, each fisherman develops his own style and handwriting: Before you start fishing, you need to master casting. If this technique is well mastered on land, then the water will have fewer problems.

So the first exit should be planned not to the water, but to nature, in order to train on the shore to use baits and catch the inhabitants of the depths. At the end of the fishing line or braided cord, to which the swivel is attached, the bait clings. But, if the hunt will take place on pike or zander, then without a special leash you can lose an expensive live bait. This is primarily due to the fact that predatory representatives of water bodies grind any fishing thread with their teeth. Therefore, the use of a titanium or tungsten leader will help solve this problem.

If you watch catching fish on a spinning rod, you may get the erroneous impression that there is nothing complicated about it. All that is needed is to throw the tackle with the bait as far as possible and use the reel to complete the wiring in anticipation of a bite. But in reality, there are several effective ways catches that beginners master not the first time. But for starters, it is advisable to familiarize yourself with a couple of basic postings that allow you to achieve good catchability. Willy-nilly, you begin to look at the clock to remember the time of the pike perch. It is believed that the best bite is in the morning and especially evening dawns. Often this happens, but it happens that pike pecks on a hot afternoon, and in the morning - zero. It happens that pike perch takes the whole day with short pauses. I remember fifty bites a day I saw! Plus hours from 16 - 17 to dusk - also a mandatory time. The solidity of his words was documented by a piece of pikeperch he had tortured today, which I got in the appendage with a fragrant fish soup. But in my memory, - said Mikhalych, - an episode from childhood emerges. I remember that during the day of fishing, my father and I undressed twice in the boat and hid things in a waterproof bag to escape the rain, and then, a little later, we fought with the scorching sun, dipping right in our clothes and drying out in half an hour, and then - a new cloud and a new downpour, and pike perch pecked and pecked! So sketching a picture here, it turns out, is not easy. You can and should try in any weather, as long as the wind and the wave do not bother you much - this is a purely technical point. Everything else - rain, heat, cloudiness - will endure, fall in love, - Mikhalych grinned in the reflection of the fire. And rarely when pike perch comes across in such weather, I don’t know why. In general, I associate pike perch with sunny clear weather - that's when it is most stable in bites. You see, the sunset is scarlet and the sun does not set in a cloud - tomorrow the weather will be the best! You need a whip of at least 2.7 m, and a more serious test, your 10 - 30 grams will not be enough. Mikhalych in catching pike perch preferred the jig to everything else. It was for this case that he selected his gear. Trolling, however, caught on the residual principle - where the jig was inconvenient, and did it with the help of the same jig kit. He made leashes from the string of the second number - in case of a pike bite. Two boxes were certainly taken into the boat: Next - first place: This is me to the fact that you need to know the places!

Roma, if you need to post photos on the forum to demonstrate, show, prove your own fishing successes, especially trophies, then With a spinning rod, a fishing rod, against the background of a river, I came to the Black Sea, but I managed to catch fish and not one, but four! Does anyone know if the crucian carp and greenfinch are tasty?

  • Show fishing on the don
  • Two-stroke outboard motors in voronezh
  • Fishing on small rivers of Udmurtia
  • Peugeot 406 badly catches the radio
  • Dmitry, on the Black Sea they fish for everything! Red mullet goes very well on an oyster. Constantly, and almost always, I fished on float rod. But in modern times, I was also interested in spinning. Probably many novice spinningists like me came home without a catch. Daily fishing trips were fruitless. Over time, I learned to flash and began to bring at least one pike or perch from almost every fishing trip.

    An experienced angler catches fish on spinning, an inexperienced one catches himself, spinning for beginners

    He began to master new spinners, twisters, oscillators and TDs. And as it turned out, not in vain.

    Of course, without breaking the baubles, it’s not like it could not do. Recently, I pulled out my first trophy on the Neman River, it was a 1 kg pike. Unfortunately, I did not have a camera, and I could not capture it and put it on the forum for proof. By the way, recently my parents bought a camera and now I will send my fishing stories with photos. Dmitry, I have recently begun to ask similar questions. More than one of my comrades perfectly caught the sea from the pier or stones, when it got dark, a lot of all kinds of fish. At the same time, they used the most common micro-jigging gear. And even the bait marine inhabitants eat those that our perch and pike. I would like to fish in the Black Sea. Are ordinary, freshwater gear suitable for this? Or is it better to buy something that you don't mind breaking? But the technique of catching wobblers, turntables, twisters, etc. Your e-mail will not be published. Therefore, the task of the spinning player is to choose a reliable reel with all the functionality, even if it is a beginner spinning player. The right choice of fishing line will determine how versatile the spinning angler is. Therefore, there are only two options: Both lines have their own advantages and disadvantages. If you take a braid, then it has a minimum specific stretch, compared to monofilament, which makes spinning more sensitive at long distances. Monofilament line is best used for short distances, where it is no worse than braided line. The color of the fishing line does not play a special role, but it is believed that dark colors are the most suitable: Jig wiring allows you to catch a predator at the very bottom. This is very important, since many predators lead a benthic lifestyle. The technique is quite simple and any novice spinner can master it. One of the varieties of jig rigs is a retractable leash.
